  1. So much has been “modified” from this it’s disappointing. Outside of the new coaster, It was already more of a style over substance redo with mostly redressing of existing areas. Now that so much of the style has been cut, I feel it’s a pretty weak finished product.( at least as it looks like it’s going to stand next week at open.
  2. They may be out from time to time, but as you can see, I got one yesterday. It was crunchy outside, fluffy inside… perfect. And if you read my original post, the no paper pic was after I ate half of it (making it the size of the portions we’ve seen this year) my before and after should’ve been before I started eating for a true comparison.
  3. I was looking while at park yesterday, I still don’t understand why they didn’t push out just a little more to include Kite eating tree in Camp. It blends perfectly with AirRail, makes thematic sense and would provide a great “gateway” into the area. They could’ve clad over the drink/snack stand with wood and minimal theming to make a “Camp Canteen” to frame the entry and dove the ribbon of stamped concrete a bit further out with some rocks and landscape on both sides. They could’ve reused the footers from the PlanetSnoopy signs for camp style signs or the “welcome happy campers” posts instead of the cost of removing them and doing an odd little circle patch job in the concrete. Have to wonder how much closer to the concept art this area would be if we had the money they spent on painting AirRail only two years ago to just repaint it again. Poor long term planning seems to have wasted money there.
  4. Yeah. The whole area is a mess, and the little strips of stamped concrete to “theme” the ground only add to the mush mash.
  5. This is crazy this year. It’s all over the place. Today - pretty quiet (maybe that’s the secret-when crowds are low you get the A portion-drops to B as attendance increases) got heaping helping of burnt ends at Ciney. Love no portion cuo- makes it look like a real meal. I took off the paper to show how much better all the food would look without the giant flappy aped that falls apart under the food. That was after I ate sone, so it would make their lean portions not look so lost and tiny. The new square plates are so much better than the thin “boats” Why is this so hard folks?
  6. I feel like they maybe tried to spread the budget a bit too thin to include more area and in the process lost sone of the detail that was originally budgeted for the core part of the project. My youngest is pretty much out of this demographic now anyway, just feels a bit jumbled with sone missed opportunities.
  7. Ha ha. You need to ask? We are lucky we got the flagpole (though that’s about all we got from the concept)
  8. So many missed opportunities to actually make an immersive themed environment. Old concrete planters that’s could’ve been replaced with rock- had wood veneer added or even stained the concrete. Old corrugated metal wall- what’s it hiding? All lighting just painted brown instead of switching to a more rustic wood post. You can tell this was super low budget. But then Linus launchers got a brand new sign, yet Woodstock Air Rail still has crappy mesh awnings instead of a wood pergola cover. This project seems all over the map as to where money got spent.
  9. It’s the three week run of the outsourced bubble “toy trade show” show that gets me after the past few seasons of entertainment that was actually getting somewhere. The chicken sandwich thing is just laughably bad!
  10. I think the challenge is it needs a "grill", not a fryer. Maybe when they redid CShack they should've factored that into the kitchen. area
  11. Which demonstrates that there is a demand for healthier, tasty food. Duh. Now figure out how to keep up.
  12. Yes! That will give it that “rustic kids camp” look in no time. There’s truly no substitute for authenticity!
  13. totally agree - In fact a lot of the park would qualify for that when you really look at the "evolution" of the place as a whole. Its a mess of patches, fixes, planters covered over, themed spots added etc.
  14. I think thats one reason, but it still seems like a pretty big investment to just cut down on reuse (and loss of revenue there). I think there is definitely a more revenue generation (instead of revenue loss) driven reason we are seeing these.
  15. How is limiting the use of daily sales FastLANE devaluing your all-season? (provided they don't limit you, although that would be another great revenue stream. Giving all season the option of one time use pr ride pr visit or unlimited for a significant up-charge.) How would it increase lines by actually allowing lines to move the way they are supposed to by limiting the number of times the line flow has to stop to accomodate fastlanes. I think as long as the cat is out of the bag for paid individual fastlanes and all season ones, its fine to generate more revenue by allowing more customization of the system and in the process, maybe reducing the number of people who can run endless laps on a ride while others wait and wait.
  16. Now, with the new scanners, that they have the ability to do it, It will be interesting to see how long it takes till they do "tiered" Fast Lane program. I'd personally LOVE to see a "one time only" or a "you pick any 6 or 8 attractions" option. I feel like that would overall reduce the lines as there would be less Fast Lane ride marathoning. It could also increase revenue as you could sell more at less cost to people who might only be interested in a few attractions. With the pick 6 you could use them however you like - like 6 times on The Beast, or one time on 6 different rides. They could also set limits like Dollywood on "one time only on the newest attraction" They could still sell an "unlimited use" Fast Lane at a higher cost. The new scanners could light red if you have already scanned at that attraction or if you have used your allotment for the day. I see this coming as I don't think they invested in new scanners just for the pretty lights show they provide. These new scanners could also be an awesome way to add "pass perks" like a free one time use Fast Lane pass for spending a certain amount, or visiting a certain amount of times. I hope they use these to their full advantage.
  17. Hopefully they can clean up some of the paving "confusion". There's old concrete, new concrete, orange concrete, white concrete, stamped concrete, you name it all going on and thats just in the area of log ride/ Linus ride. This will hopefully bring an area of the park all together into a themed whole, or it will create a mess of conflicting themes and ideas all living next to each other. I know its not done yet, but its heading into the "mish mash of themes" direction. I wish they took the chance to really make this new area feel more like an extension of RiverTown, and hopefully that's the plan. I'm still not sure why the also didn't take the opportunity to retheme Space Buggies to off-road 4 wheeler or relocate them in Planet Snoopy and bring in another small new flat to that pad so that entire area with Franklins Fliers and Kite Tree could all be a "gateway" to the camp area. Its just a lot of ideas all running together right now
  18. They better. The event STARTS when it starts. They need to staff appropriately to get the switch over done in the allotted time.
  19. Im fine giving up an hour on a few days if it gets a whole extra weekend. I think that probably a better use of payroll especially since the zoo is fully open by then
  20. That’s what I was thinking/hoping that this was basically just for these early events and maybe the opening few weeks if the permanent one is running late. I mean, they’d never leave unused footings just out in the open like that… right? LOL.
  21. Looks like they didn’t ADD footers for something-they were just too lazy to actually REMOVE them from the old sign.
  22. Love that idea. As it is VIP does seem fairly “unimportant”. I’d hate to loose one of my favorite spots, but I never understood why they didn’t use/expand the back patio of BrewHouse. Permanent shade structure-push the patio out and maybe even down a lavel. Restrooms right there. Bar and food/beverage to sell. Easy to control access from inside restaurant and the smaller side path. Again… I’d never wish it, but seems like it would’ve taken WAY less effort and had greater ROI.
