  1. I have heard people say that RMC is this generations Intamin. Maybe that's what they mean...
  2. I still like the idea of a coaster going out over the auto entrance a few pages back if it's feasible. Maybe they could build a B&M Wing Coaster or a Floorless coaster to go out and back.
  3. To the right of the LaRosas building used to be where the Skeeball building stood. Now it's just shaded seating. Crazy how there's nothing left of it at all.
  4. That looks like floorless track. Dive track is typically wider.
  5. I know this was already posted, but... https://youtu.be/umDr0mPuyQc
  6. I know I've mentioned this before, but what if the park decided to install an RMC topper track woodie similar to Wildfire at Kolmården? I know we just got Mystic Timbers, but Rocky Mountain Construction wooden coasters create totally different ride experiences than traditional wooden coasters. Plus it would be a great way to perfect the inverting wooden coaster, a gap left over from when Son of Beast had the loop, and eventually itself, removed.
  7. I noticed on a social media video that the fountain lights were synchronized with the music. Perhaps the park might invest in some LED RBG lights for the fountain like Canada's Wonderland and Kings Dominion in the future.
  8. Maybe because the current runoff pipes are causing Vortex to sink.
  9. That was a great article! It really put a face on the legend. When I first read about this happening about 10 years ago, my father and sister thought it was just a FearFest/ Halloween Haunt storyline with my father citing "I remember the Flight Commander accident on the news in 1991, but I don't remember this accident." It is interesting to know that the 50' platform remained open for years after. On a previous thread about the Tower Johnny case, it was pointed out that when the Eiffel Tower opened in 1972, the only thing keeping you safe from falling was a 4' railing on both top platforms. That changed at least halfway through the season.
  10. I still call it Tasmanian Typhoon.
  11. While I currently think it's cool how the Tower and the buildings contrast with the lighting in the fountain, it would be cool to see lighting similar to that of Canada's Wonderland's Royal Fountain. https://youtu.be/RlH2aJ2AQ78
  12. Finally got to hear the Angry Birds theme on International Street last night. It was an orchestral arrangement and, I gotta say, I was impressed by the almost Eastern European sound it had that I almost thought that it started out as a classical piece much like the Tetris theme. Hope to hear some late 60s early 70s music in Coney Mall in the future, maybe some polka and German march music in Oktoberfest too.
  13. Last season they had "Gusty Garden Galaxy" from Super Mario Galaxy as part of the playlist. Dimitri Tiomkin's "The High and the Mighty" was also playing last season.
  14. I haven't had a chance to listen to the International Street playlist closely yet, but I could make out "Escape/ Chase/ Saying Goodbye" from ET by John Williams (Last season they played the end credit music which featured a segment of this piece) and "Harry's Wonderous World" from the Harry Potter movies, also by John Williams. My mother told me she heard the theme to "Exodus" by Ernest Gold. From what I've heard, the playlist is close to having similar music to the early days of the park.
  15. I walked into work on Sunday and noticed they were playing some sort of march over the speakers on International Street, but I didn't know the name of it. I really liked the playlist this year from what I could hear of it. I got to hear a whole lot of Rivertown music last weekend as well. Very well done.
  16. Apparently the park isn't allowed to build a ride above 399 feet tall because of the nearby Warren County airport, but that's just what I have heard somewhere.
  17. If Cedar Fair still worked with Intamin, it would have been cool to see a Giga that was unique from Intimidator 305 and Millennium Force. I know there are quite a few people that wanted a Top Thrill Dragster clone at KI, but height restrictions from the FAA hinder that possibility. The closest coaster to that would be something like Red Force at Ferrari Land at PortAventura World. However, I've heard somewhere that that coaster doesn't count as a Giga, despite being within the 300-399 foot height range. Obviously won't happen, nor would it ever happen, but that was an idea I thought of.
  18. Looks awesome, especially with the Tower in the background.
  19. I noticed that the booth behind Emporium, which was set up for skate rentals during Winterfest and replaced the arcade games, is still set up. Could there possibly be a use for that during the regular season in coming years?
  20. For me... Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal- Never got to ride it, as it was removed before I was tall enough, but it tied in so well with Rivertown. Cuddle Up- Another ride before my time, but a classic that my parents loved, with my dad saying he "never truly appreciated the engineering of that ride until it was gone." Enchanted Voyage- Yet another ride before my time, but after riding It's A Small World at Disney World back in 2015 during a high school choir trip, this ride would have been cool to see themed to Peanuts, with the boats entering and exiting through Snoopy's dog house rather than a giant television. And let's not forget the snail wishing riders to "Have a huh huh huh happy day!" Les Taxis/ Ohio Overland Auto Livery- This one I did ride. Very enjoyable and quiet experience. The Auto Livery side fit in very well with Rivertown and the old time Cincinnati theming, and Les Taxis looked very nice from the midway walking towards the Tower. Backlot really kind of clashes with Coney Mall and Rivertown. It can be a fun coaster, but it can't top the Antique Cars.
  21. The Clown Band would be fantastic. With a lot of old Kings Island staples coming back and being paid homage to, I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually do bring them back.
  22. I can't wait to ride it this season. I rode it last summer with my aunt and uncle. I enjoyed it, they didn't (granted they sat in the back of the car). Hopefully I can convince them to ride again this season.
  23. That would require a lot of downtime for the tower. I also learned from one of the ride associates a few years back that it burned the paint off.
  24. I'd say that if it were to angle its way near Kings Island Drive at about a 135 degree angle rather than 90 degrees, it would miss the Dog Street Cemetery. They could also rebuild that roadway so the coaster tunnels underneath like the Carowinds entrance plaza and Hades at Mt. Olympus. But that still leaves the problem of zoning and Great Wolf Lodge. It would possibly work if the park bought Great Wolf, but I don't think they would nor do I think they're interested in selling. But it is, again, a very interesting idea as it's different from the other Cedar Fair Giga coasters.
