  1. Welcome Chad! You seem to have a love and interest in the park, which is great for your position!
  2. I have heard rumors of another wooden coaster; an RMC topper track wooden coaster. It's been discussed as a possible rumor for a while for the 2019 season.
  3. That looks like the Holly Jolly Trolley. Last night when leaving work I saw a truck delivering what looked like the wooden pallets that will be used to support ice rink on the Royal Fountain.
  4. Going back to the track configurations of The Racer compared to Mystic and other GCI coasters, in order for the PTC stock to be replaced with Millennium Flyers, would a full Knotts Berry Farm Ghostrider style treatment be required, where the whole ride course would be retracked?
  5. After riding Mystic Timbers this season and seeing what Millennium Flyer Trains feel like, especially with the airtime, I began wondering what The Racer would be like with that type of train. It's often discussed on here whether The Beast should receive Millennium Flyers, but putting some on The Racer could possibly restore some of the airtime lost when the buzz bars were replaced.
  6. Back row is usually the bumpiest. I usually sit in the first or second row. Would the park be willing to work with GCI again for a Racer retrack, even though they just built Mystic Timbers?
  7. Kings Dominion's Rebel Yell had it's first drop retracked by The Gravity Group. Perhaps they might do some similar rehab work on The Racer. Maybe some new paint and some new chaser lights.
  8. It's going to be weird not seeing that building there anymore. I found this video on YouTube of the Attitudes space during the parks inaugural year when it was home to the Cuddle Up. Now back to speculating...
  9. Philadelphia Toboggan Company Crazy Daisy/ Cuddle Up. Classic amusement park midway ride.
  10. The Racer apparently had a 45 minute wait.
  11. I'm sure it's not just for the PTC trains, but I've only ever seen video during the off season of it being used for that.
  12. If the maintenance building is moved, they'd have to build a new water tank for the pressure washing of the PTC trains from The Racer and The Beast; I assume that's what the giant round water tank back there is for.
  13. They usually play that around the park each Halloween. Heard a lot of it yesterday.
  14. That made my day when I heard That! Good to know.
  15. Wow. That looks so different! Hard to imagine that that's the Diamondback entrance plaza now.
  16. Does this count as a roller coaster? Cedar Fair already announced the 4 coasters coming next season.
  17. I went through back in 2011 when it first opened, and I haven't been back there since. This was shortly after the big animatronic Ruyang Yellow River dinosaur caught fire, so I remember a huge empty straw patch.
  18. Ray Parker Jr's song is a goodie too. They usually play it at Kings Island during Great Pumpkin Fest, don't they? I have heard Time Warp from Rocky Horror Picture Show once in Coney Mall.
  19. During the day, non Haunt hours, it would have been cool to hear the main theme to Ghostbusters by Elmer Bernstein on International Street. That's an instrumental piece with a lightly spooky sound to it.
  20. Best place to get the Blue Ice Cream. Always sad to see an original building from 1972 being demolished. Rest in Peace Potato Works/ Thrill Burger.
  21. I rode the Tornado at Strickers Grove a couple years ago and it still runs with buzz bar PTCs, at least last time I went it did. Really good ride experience, despite the seat divider. Would love to see some on our woodies again.
  22. I wouldn't be against more international food on International Street. They sell French Elephant Eats in Rivertown, so it would make sense to sell them on International Street, maybe in the stand near Yogurt Plus in the French building, but that would depend on how popular they are in Rivertown.
  23. I chose ground up and wooden. Our four woodies cover four different ride experiences The Racer: Classic out and back wooden roller coaster packed with airtime. Woodstock Express: Great beginner coaster for children. The Beast: Wild terrain coaster built into the woods, running at high speeds like a monster on the loose. Mystic Timbers: low to the ground, non-stop high speed action and twists with pops of airtime. A topper track wooden coaster from Rocky Mountain Construction would provide a ride experience that would put it in a different class from the four current woodies. While Son of Beast was a remarkable engineering failure, it did pave the way for one revolutionary idea in the world of coaster building; to go upside down on a wooden roller coaster. Modern track design, and elements like Zero-G rolls, stalls and barrel rolls, make for an easy and safe way for wooden coasters to do what only steel coasters could do at one time. With an addition like Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City or Wildfire at Kolmården to Kings Island's line up, it would make for an excellent addition to our already amazing wooden coaster collection.
  24. The white circular building is a water tank of some kind, it's still in the same location today. I believe it is used to power wash the PTC trains from The Racer and The Beast during off season maintenance.
