  1. For me... Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal- Never got to ride it, as it was removed before I was tall enough, but it tied in so well with Rivertown. Cuddle Up- Another ride before my time, but a classic that my parents loved, with my dad saying he "never truly appreciated the engineering of that ride until it was gone." Enchanted Voyage- Yet another ride before my time, but after riding It's A Small World at Disney World back in 2015 during a high school choir trip, this ride would have been cool to see themed to Peanuts, with the boats entering and exiting through Snoopy's dog house rather than a giant television. And let's not forget the snail wishing riders to "Have a huh huh huh happy day!" Les Taxis/ Ohio Overland Auto Livery- This one I did ride. Very enjoyable and quiet experience. The Auto Livery side fit in very well with Rivertown and the old time Cincinnati theming, and Les Taxis looked very nice from the midway walking towards the Tower. Backlot really kind of clashes with Coney Mall and Rivertown. It can be a fun coaster, but it can't top the Antique Cars.
  2. The Clown Band would be fantastic. With a lot of old Kings Island staples coming back and being paid homage to, I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually do bring them back.
  3. I can't wait to ride it this season. I rode it last summer with my aunt and uncle. I enjoyed it, they didn't (granted they sat in the back of the car). Hopefully I can convince them to ride again this season.
  4. That would require a lot of downtime for the tower. I also learned from one of the ride associates a few years back that it burned the paint off.
  5. I'd say that if it were to angle its way near Kings Island Drive at about a 135 degree angle rather than 90 degrees, it would miss the Dog Street Cemetery. They could also rebuild that roadway so the coaster tunnels underneath like the Carowinds entrance plaza and Hades at Mt. Olympus. But that still leaves the problem of zoning and Great Wolf Lodge. It would possibly work if the park bought Great Wolf, but I don't think they would nor do I think they're interested in selling. But it is, again, a very interesting idea as it's different from the other Cedar Fair Giga coasters.
  6. That would go right near the cemetery, if not on top of it. Not only that, but it's right on the property line of Great Wolf Lodge. It is an interesting concept I must say.
  7. The tree removal may just be a continuing removal of Ash trees around these areas, especially since The Beast is tightly packed near the woods and they may not want a downed tree to damage the ride.
  8. If its a woodie, what manufacturer do you think will build it? Given Cedar Fairs new relationship with Rocky Mountain Construction it would be cool to see a topper track woodie. But because of the loss of Thunder Road, a GCI woodie would probably be appropriate to fill the gap of classically built wooden coasters.
  9. Actually I should correct myself. The Round Up was the official name for the style of ride Halleys Comet was, but I don't believe that was moved up from Coney. The star on the sign, however, was from the Shooting Star entrance. The Flying Scooter ride, when moved up from Coney Island, was renamed "Spirit of '76" before becoming the Flying Eagles, so I assume they just called it the Flying Scooters so there wouldn't be confusion. And if you look to the right on the original photo, it does appear to include the Cuddle Up.
  10. I think the theme they were trying to go for was Coney Island, so the Flying Scooters was the name for the Eagles at Coney and Round Up was the original name for Halleys Comet.
  11. It would be cool to see a Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster in the Congo Falls space and Congo Falls in Rivertown where the Crypt building currently is. I don't know how an Intamin blitz would fit in Oktoberfest without demolishing the Hanks/ Der Alte Deutsche Bier Garten building and patio or even Festhaus. Plus, I don't believe Cedar Fair will work with Intamin for a long time.
  12. Kings Island Coney Island Cedar Point Holiday World (Six Flags) Kentucky Kingdom Strickers Grove Wyandot Lake/ Jungle Jack's Landing (Columbus Zoo) Dollywood Walt Disney World- Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios Universal Orlando Resort Universal Islands of Adventure Wonderpark (Forest Fair Village/ Cincinnati Mall) Americana/ LeSourdsville Lake (Abandoned) Total: 15.5
  13. I would think the berm in the front with the park logo was removed during the 2002 - 2003 offseason when they rebuilt the fountain pool. The European style floral bushes along the fountain were probably removed in the late 90's.
  14. With Oktoberfest they could add a Gerstlauer Skyroller and maybe a few flats themed to Germany. Maybe paint SlingShot to be black red and yellow to resemble the German flag. With the Queen City Sausage being served at the new restaurant this season, there is a chance for some sort of German fare returning in the future. But regarding a potential giga coaster, the old Dinosaurs Alive land would be the place to put it. I don't see them putting it in the Son of Beast station because The Bat and Banshee are right there and need the clearance, and X-Base would require a lot of rerouting of maintenance roads and moving those maintenance buildings. But if they're able to add a giga without putting it where Dinosaurs Alive used to be, that land could make a good second kids area, as was mentioned in these forums in the past. Since Coney Mall is meant to pay tribute to Coney Island, they could name the area "The Land of Oz."
  15. The old berm on International Street did look nice. Kings Dominion got a similar one back in 2014 for their 40th.
  16. It has looked like that for a while. It did when I went in 2016.
  17. Those photos are so cool. I almost forgot about the Rivertown Mining Company building, which was torn down for Diamondback. Looking at those pictures makes me forget that those were taken at Kings Island. The old time rustic buildings in Rivertown were actually very cool.
  18. I like the design and how they wanted to pay tribute to the early years of the park. The clock tower is a nice touch as well; reminds me of the arcade building adjacent to Moonlite Gardens at Coney Island. With the Queen City Sausage on the menu, perhaps there may be some hope of German food returning to Oktoberfest in the future.
  19. I think he also said that steel coasters are plastic coasters in that statement as well. Not sure what he meant by that, though.
  20. How much would it cost to build new maintenance buildings in order to expand X-Base? Where would they go on park property if they were to ever move them?
  21. Not too sure what it will be, but I'm sure it will be interesting by the time opening day rolls around.
  22. Very interesting information regarding the Skyride. I never knew the original Coney Island gondulas were replaced when it was moved to Kings Island. What's also interesting to point out is that the Skyride originally had three support towers at Coney, but a fourth tower, a second 96' tower, was added at Kings Island to span the length of the park.
  23. I voted wooden coaster. Although the trains run on a steel box, the box is on top of a stack of wood.
  24. Those lights have been there for a while. The Eiffel Tower at Kings Dominion has a similar light package on its cupola. I also noticed that the pulley systems used to hold the stars in place at the top during Winterfest are still there. I wonder if they're going to leave them for quick installation each winter.
