Post #22: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27849-KICentral-server-change-complete/ But you can still see who's reading what as seen in The Interpreter's link in post #21, but not while you're on a topic. I'll miss that, but it's not something that's very important. EDIT: Beat by jcgoble3

These are just my own opinions and are in no way based on any evidence, but since this thread just seems to be about our opinions, I'll fire away. This one doesn't necessarily call for the complete demolition, but I'd love for Mean Streak to get the RMC treatment. It has so much potential but is just so rough. Sometime in the near future I'd also like to see Corkscrew removed (hold on a sec, all you Corkscrew lovers--I'll expand my idea shortly), since it's just way too rough and short for me to like it. In addition to this coaster being removed, I'd also like to see Gold Dorms, Wardrobe, and Maintenance buildings razed and moved off point. There's already been talk that all the employee housing will be moved off the peninsula soon, and with the new maintenance building off site, I could easily see this happening. Imagine the large area available to use if Corkscrew, along with these neighboring buildings, would be demolished. This picture was posted on PointBuzz a little while back by Rcoaster10, and gives a good perspective of the site. Now back to those who want Corkscrew to stay. With this large space, I could see a new family looping coaster be added. I'd want it to give a nod to Corkscrew by having 2 corkscrews over the midway, but it would have a longer layout by using some of the land currently used by dorms, maintenance, etc. It would be smooth and would have an overall better ride experience. In addition to a new small family coaster, I also think this area has room for several flat rides. Maybe 1 or 2 family flats and 1 more thrilling flat. A third idea I have, and one that I know many other people have, is to build a midway connecting Celebration Plaza with the Blue Streak plaza. It would bring new life into this area, give Blue Streak a higher ridership since right now it's tucked away, and several new rides and coasters could be added. Once again, here's another photoshopped image from Rcoaster10 that shows what could fit in this area. In this pic, he has Sheikra, Goliath, and Skyhawk and Monster to show how 2 flats could also fit. I personally love this idea. Turnpike Cars and Cadillac Cars would have to be removed, but there would still be Antique Cars in the park. I never understood why the park has 3 of these types of ride. Also Perimeter road would be shifted and Cedars dorms would be demolished and moved off point.

That reminds me, I haven't seen that movie in a while. Time for a Jumanji movie night!

Too bad that same commercial was shown and modified for Cedar Point's HalloWeeekends... But it would have been cool if that was the 1st hint.

Death at Six Flags over Texas
Ride On_17 replied to mullimann's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Ok that's what I thought. It just seems to happen so much. Almost once every time I go to the park, at least that I know of. -
I wonder how it will be before Cedar Point announces the changes for HalloWeekends. It's been confirmed that there will be at least 1 new haunt this year.

I'm curious about what Board to Death is about. There could be many things. My first thought was that it would be pirate related, but now I'm not so sure. I could be abouyt a boarding school, carpentry, or even boarding a train or a plane. Now after I typed that I'm guessing the premise will be you will board either a train or a plane, and will encounter terrifying things while on your journey.

No, unfortunately I never got a chance to go on CP&LE railroad and didn't take any pics, but while I was in line for Millennium I saw Judy K go by and thought of you

Death at Six Flags over Texas
Ride On_17 replied to mullimann's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
^I've never heard that before. Then why, when the ride stops, does it take 20 minutes to get it started again? And someone has to go in the elevator up the lift to the train? I still think it's because of seat belt issues. I was told this by a park worker before. Not sure if they were joking or if this is the case. If there's anyone on here who knows for sure, please let me know. -
Death at Six Flags over Texas

What I find sad is how people are now associating this death at other places. For example at Cedar Point yesterday halfway up the lift on Millennium Force these girls behind me were talking about this accident, and about how they hoped they wouldn't fall out. An even worse one yesterday was when a Millennium train stopped on the lift hill (it does that a lot, and I've found it sometimes it happens if a seatbelt gets unbuckled), and some kids in line behind me kept saying that they thought it stopped since someone fell out. This accident in Texas has sparked fear everywhere. -
And I forgot to mention this in the report, but I saw someone there with a shirt that said "U Mad Bro?" and couldn't help but think of you, YoungStud.

Sounds like an off-season construction tour to me! Did anybody on here go to the one for Gatekeeper and PointBuzz? How was that? I did, and it was awesome! If it turns out this is what the event will be in January, then I really hope I can go.

Since I only had marching band Mon-Thurs this week, my mom and I decided to head down to the park Friday. By coincidence one of my friends (ironically the same one we met up with in Ocean City, NJ) along with her family and cousins were going to the park the same day. They got there before we did and they went on GK 1st. My friend texted me and said there was a 45 minute to an hour wait. My mom and I got to the park around 11:30 and headed straight to Dragster while I heard from my friend that they were going to Millennium. After waiting only 45 minutes for Dragster and had an awesome ride as usual (hands up the whole way, of course), we decided to go ride Millennium for ourselves while my friend and her group went to have lunch and then ride Maverick. Millennium had just over a 45 minute wait, and we got on it with no problems. We waited for the front row since it only had an extra 5-10 minute wait. The front's the best place on this ride. After this my friend was still in line for Maverick so my mom and I decided to head back to that area of the park and get lunch. Ironically as we were walking into Frontiertown and were next to the Antique Cars and Chick-Fil-A, all of a sudden I hear someone yell my name. I looked, and my friend was in line for Maverick in the old White Water Landing building, and was right at the corner. It just happened to work out that we were walking by as she was in that spot, since she probably wouldn't have seen us if she was in a different spot waiting. So we waved, and then my mom and I got lunch and we headed over by Maverick's entrance to wait for my friend. Once she, her 2 cousins, her younger brother, and her stepdad got off we went over toward Camp Snoopy where her mom and even younger brother were. Next we headed over to Dragster again. I didn't mind going on it again, and my friend had never been on it before. That's the only ride that has intimidated her, but she loves all the other coasters. So her cousin and I kept encouraging her all the way to the ride and all through the line which was only about a 1/2 hour wait. She was freaking out, especially once she got in the station. There were a bunch of other 1st time riders near us in the station, so that helped her a little. And guess what, she loved the ride! She bought her picture since it was so funny, and wanted to get back in line again. Since the line was pretty short we decided to go on it again. This time we waited for the front. I kept hoping I would get a roll back, but all day I never even saw one. From here we split into several groups. My group consisted of me, my mom, my friend, and her cousin. My mom and I wanted to hit up Gatekeeper, and my friend and her cousin wanted to ride it again so they came with us. It only had a 15 minute wait! It was late afternoon/early evening so I expected the line to be shorter than in the morning, but I didn't expect it to be this short. My friend and cousin rode in the front left this morning, so I convinced them to try the back, and since the line was so short we decided we would go on it twice so they could ride back right and back left. First was back right. It's been a while since I've been on the right side of the train, and I forgot how much fun the keyholes are when riding on this side. Next was the back left, my personal favorite place to ride it. And it provided another awesome ride. I don't get why so many people are getting headaches from this ride and are saying it's rough. I only felt slight vibrations at the bottoms of hills and elements, even when sitting in the back outer seats. Maybe I just got lucky and got a good train both times? I don't know, but I didn't have a problem with it at all. We looked over at Wicked Twister's line and were surprised by this line too. There was no wait! Only the station had people waiting in it. So we got a quick ride on this awesome, underrated ride. Next we met back up with everyone else at the Joe Cool Cafe. My mom and I didn't eat anything, we just talked with everyone else for a few minutes before heading off again with my friend and cousin. They wanted to go on Millennium, and I'd never turn down a ride on it so that's where we went next. It had a slightly longer line than before at 1 hour, but it's always worth it. Rode in the shortest line but still had an awesome experience. By then it was a little after 8, and I wanted to ride Maverick while my friend and her cousin were thinking about going on Mantis. So we said bye to them, and said how it was fun meeting up. We went our separate ways and my mom and I headed back again to Maverick. It had about an hour wait, so it wasn't too bad. We had a great night ride on it, and we didn't sit in the front so we wouldn't get plastered with bugs (even the restraints on the front rows were covered in them.) When we got off it was quarter to 10, and we headed back to Millennium, which is a tradition to try and end the night on this ride whenever we come. It had about a 45 minute wait. When we were on the ramp, almost to the unload station, all of a sudden a train stopped on the lift hill. For some reason this always seems to happen to us. Almost every single time we go to the park, this seems to happen to us while we're waiting in line. Usually it turns out that it's because somebody's seatbelt came off, but we never heard what caused it this time--but I'm assuming it was because of a seatbelt issue. So after about 20 minutes the ride was going again and everyone on the stuck train got the option of riding again. Everyone except 2 people stayed on. Then finally we got on the ride. It's truly incredible to ride at night, and it's an awesome way to end a great day at the Point. I had a really fun day between the great weather, meeting with friends, and going on great rides. Overall ride count: Wicked Twister x1 Maverick x1 Gatekeeper x2 Dragster x3 Millennium x3

I've only been a member on here for about a month, so I think I'd still fall under the "newbie" category. I joined not only to follow Project 2014 (which was how I first discovered this site), but also to carry on insightful, friendly conversations with people who share the same interests as me. Already I can tell there are some great people on here, and I've had several chats with members. Making new friends and contributing positively to things both related to and not related to KI is what this site is all about. Let's all just move on from what has recently happened and try to rebuild our community. As new and inexperienced as I am on these forums compared to some others, I hope to gain your respect and friendship. I will help as much as I can to move this site away from prior events, and help move it in a positive direction. It's time to refocus and bring KIC back to its glory.

Diamondback, just cause it's awesome. But The Beast is awesome in a completely different way. They're uncomparable, and I love them both, so for me the winner is Diamondback--but my favorite could change depending on the day. Sometimes I feel like The Beast is better, other times I think Diamondback is better...They're both so different.

Starting to Decode gone?
Ride On_17 replied to DBInternational's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
I just hope it's back up soon. I trust the mods will do what they feel is necessary, but I hope that the entire thread isn't butchered. My fear is that when it's back, only a fraction of the posts that had been in it will still be there. Again, I understand why this "cleaning" could be important, but at the same time I really hope it doesn't ruin the thread. -
Claiming to see something at the park is one thing...Telling people to go to the park in the middle of the night is another.
-
He didn't claim he personally found it forecful. He said, "Some say Gatekeeper, 2013 (I disagree though)."

Yeah, that's true. I guess I'm just trying to convince myself that it will be an invert--even though I'd love for it to be a giga. And no, I'm not bringing back the whole giga vs invert thing back, don't worry!

But there's still the issue of parallel footers...

It is absolutely inappropriate what has occured. Enthusiast or not, someone broke a law, and to be quite honest, even if it's someone on these forums, I hope they get punished. IMO, every action needs a corresponding and equivalent reaction, whether it be positive or negative.

Just know that, whoever you are who trespassed, if the relationship between this site and park sours due to this event, it will have been entirely your fault. Every member on here would despise you, and you'd have to live in guilt knowing what you did was irresponsible and stupid. I hope that KIC continues to be a great site and that it will continue to have a solid relationship with the park, but I truly would be saddened and upset if this one persons ruined things for all of us.

Why can't people just follow simple rules? Sigh.
