Agreed. I thought they got the message out about the baseless rumor pretty quickly and efficiently. -

In all seriousness, why would people think the military would be in Mason, Ohio? They would likely be in New Rochelle, Cambridge, Seattle, or SF. -

I agree. I believe that a lot of businesses are having the same discussions behind closed doors. -

I’m serious. The challenge is CF and KI need to make guests feel like they got an amazing deal. If they don’t roll over passes into 2021, they need to make guests satisfied that their money was well spent, in order to ask them to spend another several hundred dollars on a pass, where it is now been proven in the eyes of the general public that even with buying a pass doesn’t guarantee a full summer of admissions, even though this Coronavirus, was a one-in-a-billion event. -

What KI should do, imo, is that if they open in August, make Orion passholder only. Allowing passholders to ride the ride will possibly make the passholders feel the pass was worth the money, while ensuring that Orion operates for those who want to ride it. Then 2021 comes and you can advertise it as a new ride. -

But if one has an internship in the summer and only uses the pass for the summer season, a pass to a park opening up mid August has no value to them. -

Some parks are firing their workers, so they can obtain unemployment benefits. This is going to be a long summer. -

Disney World has started to refund trips booked to June 30th. Given that this is preliminary, and subject to change, it does not look like parks can resume a somewhat normal operating season. -

“This ship is unsinkable” said the passengers of the RMS Titanic after the ship hit an Iceberg. Sorry, for the rude metaphor, but it shows how ignorant people were/still are of the unfolding catastrophe with COVID-19. We need to be extremely strict as a community in enforcing it. One blogger is currently getting slammed on twitter for prioritizing a visit to a park they’ve hadn’t visited in “a few years” over public safety. -

Oh they absolutely will cater to the customers, as companies in previous pandemics have done. One way they could do it is add a coaster. CW added Time Warp after the last Coronavirus. -

They can’t, minor labor laws. Another huge concern with the virus, is that the hospitals won’t be able to handle a massive pandemic. Hence it’s important to flatten the curve as much as possible. -

Sadly, I fear there may be. If anyone is thinking it’s a joke, it’s not. This will destroy families, kids will be raised by single parents, or lose multiple grandparents. If you read about 1918, the stories are extremely terrifying: parents dropping dead (often due to pneumonia), spouses snapping under the stress and heartbreak, and their adolescent children left to fend for themselves. -

Most of 1918’s outbreak occurred within a 4 month window. However, given the insane spread, we may be speaking of August at the latest. -

Hopefully nobody was in that crowd was asymptomatic. This is a great article about social distancing: https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/world/corona-simulator/?utm_campaign=wp_main&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook -

So in best case scenario, expect this to be over by mid to late June. (Source: https://www.wtol.com/mobile/article/news/health/coronavirus/coronavirus-impacts-expected-for-3-months/65-23133e62-f2cf-49e9-a7c1-8b9ae1136b02) Interesting to note, that assumes everyone knows when they’re infected, and the regularly quarantine according to CDC’s regulations. Here’s the rub: some are infected without showing symptoms, and some break quarantines as they feel they are invulnerable (see Rudy Gobert). Either due to social distancing or vaccines, the pandemic will end. If it ends through social distancing and regular quarantines then expect it to be done by August. Otherwise expect it done by 2021. -

Well, in 2 weeks, US will be exactly like Italy, mark my words. The rate of transmission is increasing at an exponential rate.
