  1. But then one would end up paying more for the pass for the following season (renewals cost less than flat out new passes). Also to complicate that matter is that most parks schedule their big events for July. Look at Island Nights, Carnivale, July Fourth Firework Spectacular, and more. If I only came in for the rides, I’d be fine with that, but we come in for more than just the rides.
  2. But then If one has their pass overflow into the following season, wouldn’t they have to buy the passes at full price and then have to buy another pass a few weeks later for the following season. 3 passes for 2 years? This is the catch 22 that all tourism companies are having to deal with because of this pandemic.
  3. Carnival has cancelled numerous cruises through December of 2020.
  4. I never for once mentioned Corona. I said that he should be following the stay-at-home orders of DeWine, that went into effect March 22nd.
  5. Because the thread was encouraging someone to do something that the government as ordered us not to do.
  6. You never know. Seems like the uploader has total disregard for public health.
  7. First off why are we still talking about drone videos? Also, why are we endorsing someone to go out during a pandemic, and break a stay-at-home order?
  8. City of Toronto has banned public events up to June 30th.
  9. Most of the rides and buildings are installed. Rides needed to be tested, walkways needed to be built, and landscaping needs to be done. The last few steps can be done over the course of a few weeks. To put it in perspective I’ve attatcjed a photo I took of Valravn about two weeks before the ride opened. Note: this was part of a tour for engineers interested in the industry and we were allowed to take images.
  10. Nope. NBA is going to get ridiculed for even thinking of doing that.
  11. It’s not being negative. A pandemic is sweeping the nation right now. Parks aren’t going to be open for a very long time. Industry advisers have hinted at that.
  12. Cruise ships are cancelling through July.
  13. That could be a problem with buckles. Having people buckle seatbelts could be a huge source of spread, if someone with the virus were to touch it.
  14. That’s actually a very interesting question. It all plays into the public mindset after this disaster is done with. The Kings Island crowd of 2019 will not be like the crowd when the park reopens. People will be bringing sanitizing wipes, wiping down tables, seats, and lap bars. It’s going to be an all new GP crowd. That being said, if the Coronavirus becomes a 1918-esque event, you might see it drop in popularity and foot traffic, as what they lived through is more terrifying than a maze. Or it could trigger panic attacks and PTSD for those personally affected by the tragedy. I’ve heard of many stories of people not being able to go to ballgames or fireworks, because they had panic attacks due to surviving a horrific event.
  15. Wimbledon to be canceled.
  16. You also have the revoking of the Kings Dominion law (where schools were opened after Labor Day). KD runs daily until early August, so it’s a delicate situation.
  17. Can’t leave it to park’s responsibility when there’s asymptomatic people that have the condition.
  18. They won’t. People will flock to those attractions and bring the Coronavirus with them. The attractions will reopen at once, when everyone is healthy.
  19. Virginia has set a stay in home order until June 10th.
  20. They have to be prepared for second waves though. Parks in Japan are closing because of the next wave. Furthermore, the parks should reopen when the nation as a whole is out of the crisis, not the state. You don’t want someone from a hot spot coming to a park and infecting locals.
  21. NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION! Couldn’t resist, but agree.
  22. So does the fact their converting NFL stadiums into mobile hospitals spark any alarm? This is not a 10-15 day event. This will be a six month plus event.
  23. Yep, Ohio heat and humidity will not kill the virus.
  24. Its not giving up hope, but looking at the bigger picture.
