Sources say that Wonder Mountain's Guardian is unbelievable so I'm sticking with a ride of the same kind.

Obviously it's the same Beast that played in The Sandlot..... Geez guys come on.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Does it seem as if Banshee was one of the only new highly anticipated rides in 2014 to open on schedule? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Very nice! The coverage of the night experience doesn't do it's justice thought! That's something you have to see with your own eyes to believe!

I love Banshee and i have full faith in it, but judging by the new pictures and videos released by Universal Orlando, Harry Potter and The Escape From Gringotts will probably take the title of Best New Ride for 2014. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1448808#p1448808 I don't mean to step on some toes, but I'm just being honest and fair. I think Banshee is fantastic none-the-less and I'm glad it calls Kings Island home!

I can't stand the people who are completely oblivious to the fact that they are standing in line next to thousands of other people and when the line starts moving, they bump into you because they're not paying attention.

Apparently, Line Jumping IS an Accepted Sporting Event at KI Now :)

i sometimes do that too lol. 12 and 13 year olds get a little frightened when a big black guy yells at them. But then i assure them im just joking.... Unless its a group of like 6 of them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Seat belts added to other Cedar Fair B&M coasters.

Where did you get the number from? Just wondering if it is a published study. Could it be that we are interpreting the wait as slower. I saw a post on here a few pages back that said a few years ago, one of the KIC users waited an hour and it felt like 30 mins but this year he waited an hour and it felt like 2 hours. Same amount of waiting.... Its funny how our brains perceive things. Its 100% possible that the seat belts are not slowing the ride down by much or if any, but because we know there is a new restraint added, it makes us believe the line is slower. Could it be that ride ops may not be 100% warmed up yet? Could it be that maybe there are more FL people? What if the guests are just slower? The belts are here. No use in complaining.... I have not been back to KI since the belts were added, but the best way to tell if the belts are slowing the ride down is stacking. From my accounts, the train in the station is usually dispatched right around the time the train before it is on the last bunny hill or going into the spiral before the splashdown. If the trains stack on a regular basis, id say that the ride has been slowed down. If the trains dont stack, then it may be an issue with Fast Lane, otherwise i agree with you. People may be interpreting the line as moving slower just because change has happened, and a lot of people dont like change.EDIT: I wonder if they ever thought of attaching the belt to the clamshell. Imo, that make capacity not even be an issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Kings Dominion new coaster
Gplez90 replied to rhyano's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Correct me if im wrong, but it was revealed last fall that Carowinds is spending about $30 million on a B&M giga coaster. Cedar Fair also filed a trademark under the name "Centurion" some time ago. The name Centurion (imo) indicates that the name will be given to a ride of significant size and/or speed. EDIT: The name "Centurion" was given to very highly ranked professional officers of the ancient Roman Army. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Kings Dominion new coaster

Id love to see a RMC coaster pop up at not just Kings Dominion, but any Cedar Fair park. Ive been dying to see Mean Streak at Cedar Point get a make over like Texas Giant. As for Kings Dominion, I think a RMC coaster would do very well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Holy crap I thought the exact same thing! She gave all these weird, unrelated statistics and then never really made much of a point with them. I guess she was just saying that lots of things happen in 2 minutes and 45 seconds? Who knows! I just remember thinking to myself, "Ok, that was weird." Honestly, her whole speech was a little strange. Much of it had nothing to do with Banshee. I was looking around when she got to the part about the 2:40 during the ride, and many of the people that were there were just as confused as I was lol.

Has anyone ridden The Bat at night yet? Does Banshee's night experience rub off on The Bat as it appears to on the webcam? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

IMO, Banshee set a new standard for inverts from the restraints, to the size of the inversions, and even to the curved drop with no pre-drop. With the likely great success of Banshee, do you think we will see a reemergence of B&M inverts across the country, or the world?

I voted the In-Line twist, but really my favorite part of the ride is everything between the Batwing and the Final Brake run. I think that portion of the ride flows extremely well, and the carousel helix delivers some surprisingly strong sustained positive Gs!
