  1. I know I am in the minority, but I liked Chang. I guess back then the only comparison was KC. When we went to NJFTP, I didn't get the opportunity to ride it there. I really wanted to ride The Big Droppy thing, which was awesome.
  2. True, SOME people are. Not everyone.
  3. We didn't watch any live entertainment Park closed at 8:00 and we wanted to ride rides. i was less than impressed with Luminosity when I saw it easier this summer. I am not the target audience.
  4. KC was the worst one I had rode until this summer. It was better than Apocalypse at Six Flags America. It doesn't take a lot to be better than Apocalypse, in my opinion of course.
  5. Thank you for the input from some of you regarding both Cedar Point and specifically some of the coasters. It helped tremendously. My neighbors Kamara, Angel and Ash went with Princess Sparkles and I to the point. Kamara had been there a few times, Angel had not been in many years and Ash had never gone. I told them what my goals were for the day: ride TTD and front row of Maverick. Anything beyond that would just be bonus. Our first stop was to see #Jonathan. Apparently #Jonathan needs to be wiped down from time to time. The park was moderately busy. I expected crowds to be heavier through out the day. I am not going over each detail of the day. I can say we rode all but one coaster at the park. The one we did not ride was Iron Dragon. They had shut it down due to weather coming in late in the day. It was the bottom of our must ride list. First ride was TTD. Princess Sparkles and I decided we want to ride front row. I loved Kingda Ka and have been told TTD was better. I was skeptical. TTD is by far better than Kingda Ka. Love the restraints, speed and entire feel of the coaster itself. Kamara and Angel (Ash too) going two trains before us. We took a ride on Cedar Downs. I really enjoyed that. During Coastermania it was down so we didn't get to ride it. Princess Sparkles and Ash on Blue Streak. Gatekeeper - The trains kept stacking as bad as Diamondback. Princess Sparkles and I rode back row and it was probably the best seat I have sat in on this one. I am still not a huge fan of it, but it is tolerable. We also had the opportunity to ride front row on Maverick. It made the coaster very good. I could potentially love this one. I really like the theming or feel of the area on this one. I can say I probably had my favorite day that I have had at Cedar Point on Labor Day. It had nothing to really do with the park though. I had a great time with my friends. I personally think the entire experience with any amusement park goes far beyond ride offerings. It is everything from the employees to the cleanliness to rides, themes, etc. The biggest disappointment is the employees were not nice. They seemed to hate being there. Very few smiles or even eye contact. There are only two employees at the park that left a positive impression. One was Anthony who works in food service and the young man at Mantis. My friends were more disappointed than I was in how the employees were acting. I get it is nearing the end of the season, but you are paid to do your job. Do it well. We tried to find this young man at the park, but he was no where to be found. Spiels. I have heard how phenomenal the spiels are. Only one was anything different at any other amusement park we have been to. It was the gal at Blue Streak. "You go up and down, up and down, up and down, up and down a total of 9 times!" She showed enthusiasm at least. Gatekeeper and TTD crews were moving very sloth like. I saw Gatekeeper stack 3 deep consistently. TTD was as bad with stacking. It was not a terribly long line, but we waited 1.5 hours. I would like to blame it due to us wanting row 1, but my friends went 2 trains in front of us. The park was also dirty. I saw very few people out sweeping or picking up trash. I know so many that rave about Cedar Point, but I have yet been able to see why aside from having a large number of roller coasters.
  6. I have never been much of a fan of stand ups. I loved Chang. I know people don't understand that at all. Shockwave was ok. I hate the restraints on stand ups. More times than not, if I do not like a certain type of coaster it boils down to not liking the restraints.
  7. I have a picture somewhere of a boy maybe 12 years old sitting next to a woman who appeared to be his mom on a bench that had a trash can sitting beside it. The boy was throwing trash on the ground and the mom didn't say a word. People are extremely disrespectful.
  8. The value of ones character is not defined by ones sexuality.
  9. I rode Mantis yesterday since it has been rumored to change soon. I am not a huge fan of stand ups (I loved Chang at Kentucky Kingdom for some reason.) I love the layout of Mantis though. I cannot imagine how they can do a floorless without having to change some of the elements. If the conversion is successful, maybe they will do the same to Shockwave at Kings Dominion.
  10. Rain has stopped. Crowds are light at this point. Yes, we are back.
  11. I apologize, but I just read this. We left not long after I posted my last update. I had my daughter and one of her friends with me and they were too tired to stay. Seriously, they were ready to go, not me. I do have to say the time we were there, every ride we rode, the crews had their A game on. They kept lines moving quickly.
  12. Crowds are picking up. I think we are doing Invertigo and The Beast again and leaving. However, we have ridden all coasters aside from Invertigo (and anything in Planet Snoopy.) Considering it is Saturday and it is BAF and Dollar Days, it's been a good day.
  13. No line when we grabbed a piece earlier. I didn't look when we walked by a few minutes ago. Vortex is to the first set of stairs.
  14. They have kept lines moving. We have rode FoF, Firehawk, Banshee, Diamondback, BLSC and BBOBH. In line for The Beast. Crowds are picking up. People watching has been entertaining so far.
  15. If we could swing the cost Princess Sparkles and I would be there supporting our friends. Hopefully everyone will have a great time.
  16. We noticed the same thing with Boo Blasters.
  17. Last two years we went on Monday of Labor Day and the crowds were relatively low. Two years ago it was rainy and that kept the crowds away. This doesn't mean crowds will be low this year.
  18. Maybe the O is for O'Terpy or O'Suhr.
  19. Maybe it is the number of wooden coasters they will have remaining by 2015.
  20. Devan have you considered applying for some kind of training position? You sound like you could do a great job at it.
  21. My daughter wants to ride WWC. I do not. If you want a riding buddy, she will be happy to go along for the ride.
  22. The crowds on Dollar Days will be at Walmart on Black Friday. (Princess Sparkles and I are at Walmart on Black Friday.) I think there is a connection there that explains a whole lot. However, Walmart on Black Friday brings people watching to new heights, at times frightening ones.
  23. We were there Friday and last night and the crowds were very light on the dry side. Crowds picked up after Soak City closed last night. This obviously does not mean today will be light, with the heat that is in the forecast I will hope the crowds will be on the wet side during the bulk of the day. There is a thread for current wait times. I will try to post there today during the open hours, not a final update 8 minutes after the park closes. [emoji3]
  24. I love people watching on Dollar Days. It has a tendency to bring out families that do not get out too often. Princess Sparkles is thrilled she gets pizza at the park. Yay! It isn't Taco Bell.
  25. Technically all but one were still in the park waiting on The Beast. He could have met us at the gate. I will hope he has more to do with his life than that.. (Unlike us. OhioColts was in the town I live yesterday with his dad, we showed up just to say hello. He was 6 blocks away and didn't think we would really show up.) I know we will be there again today. Nochicken and MrsNoChicken will be there. The drawing for the car is at 7:00 tonight for anyone who wants to see that.
