What ride is the second car in that photo from?

I'm down for the Transylvania theming and the haunted house, but I don't want to see Congo Falls go. It comes in handy when it's brutally hot out.

The logic is, I am assuming, that KI didn't tear down an area immediately after it was no longer in use to build a new ride, but instead waited a couple years? That happens all the time. It was years before Banshee took Son of Beast's vacant land. General complaints comment on abandoned line queues without rides and buildings that now sit desolate until Haunt. The park actually does something about two of them and now it's too late? I wonder, would KI receive such scrutiny had they announced they were tearing down The Crypt building to build a new coaster?

The park might as well go with it and just theme it to having been abandoned after an all out attack from a "beast," a giant snake, and an angry tree. Slap "Outpost 5" on there and you have your next dark ride.

If this is a teaser for a new ride, perhaps they are naming it Outpost 5, not SOB?

It's possible that even if he sees tweet, he might not remember making this video

I seem to recall a Beast concession stand on the main walkway in Rivertown, closer to the pizza and arcade in the 90s. This was when there were still "Beast-prints" leading to the ride. However, my memory could be betraying me.

Absolutely this, 100%! The Racer and The Beast are fantastic experiences and in my opinion, have aged well. I won't argue that they don't need any attention. Of course they do, they're classics, important rides at the park, and they have historical significance. But that doesn't mean they need to be RMC'd.

Fascinating! I hope you find that picture. Was this when it originally opened?

Cedar Fair Posters with Easter Eggs

I referenced it in another thread, by saying "'Number Five is alive' brings up good memories." Glad to see someone else remembers Short Circuit. -
As an outsider, wondering what your opinion is on the Paramount Era
Joshua replied to MisterSG1's topic in Kings Island
A part of me wonders what it would have been like if Paramount had not been purchased by Viacom or if Viacom had any actual interest in the parks once they purchased the studio and its assets. -
Love these photos! I wish there were an Images of America book on Kings Island.

Number five is alive? That brings back memories!

As a person who has always loved movies, I loved it. It was nice to have a local park that embraced films. I loved the posters, the Addams Family score that greeted you as you entered the park, the Mirthmobile that sat comfortably in Tower Gardens. I loved it all, at the time. -
I've grown to love it. The haunted theming, the 80s songs, it's a really fun way to spend what is often a tedious moment while you wait to pull back into the station. Adventure Express builds up to a lava soaked death at the peak of a lift. But they took out the lava, so now the end of the ride builds up to nothing but the station. If they removed the projector, the radio, and the voices, Mystic Timbers would still make sense to later generations. It would just the normal wait into the station, like every other coaster.

I agree. It needs some love. A dark ride would be nice for the sake of variety as it already has two coasters, but I would just be happy if something, anything were added to it. It doesn't necessarily have to be a ride.
-
To be fair, I'm pretty sure entitlement has existed as long as humans have.
-
I think that's because the illusion the ride builds towards (a transition through "lava" to "safety") is no longer effective since the effects are no longer in place. Now the moment builds to nothing.

Customers like this exist with all levels of businesses. It's a thing in life we all have to deal with, but it still doesn't make it okay.

On the park's Instagram page, they posted a photo of The Woodstock Express, asking the public to guess its original name. Naturally, the majority said "The Beastie," wrongfully, but understandably. However, one user claimed its original name was "The Blue's Clues Adventure" while another simply said "Blue's Clues, Fairy Odd Parents, and Beastie." Blue's Clues? Scrolling through it, my answer appears to be the only one that mentioned its original moniker, Scooby Doo.
