  1. My guess based off of tweets made early in the season and some interesting paint on one of the rides is. Mantis to get the Floorless conversion. This is a bit of wishful thinking though as I have some ill will towards that ride as it stands.
  2. The mega loops are fun rides I find it funny to see everyone complain about them. Carnival ride or not who cares as long as it is a fun ride? Enthusiasts complain about the dumbest things at times.
  3. I've won every game except for the ring toss game at Kings Island. Most are easy. Games at large amusement parks I know are not allowed to have games that are not winnable and if they are they can have heafty fines. There was one game when I worked at Kings Island that was pretty close to not being winnable but from time to time someone won. They removed it before the end of the season because it was so difficult.
  4. Months ago 700WLW posted that video. I've never played the ring game but I debunked the other two in a post. The peach baskets game is easily won too yet they make it look impossible.
  5. I like just about everything about the ride. I doubt ill go out of my way just yet to make it back to Carowinds though. The park was alright, but not great. This coaster looks to be fun, but not mind blowing. I do look forward to whenever I happen to make it back to the park to ride it.
  6. Carowinds to Reach Exciting New Heights The worlds tallest and fastest giga coaster will connect the beloved Carolina parks historic past with its thrilling future Charlotte, NC (August 21, 2014) / PR Newswire / For more than 40 years, Carowinds has been the place where the Carolinas come together. Its where the Tar Heel State and the Palmetto State meet. Its where families and friends bond over thrilling rides and entertainment. Carowinds will now unite its storied history with its future as the standard for thrills by unleashing Fury 325, the worlds tallest and fastest giga coaster. Fury 325 will simulate the wild, daring and spontaneous flight of the hornet. The new ride will be visible from uptown Charlotte, renewing the parks skyline and serving as a symbol of changes to come. Fury 325 is part of a planned $50 million dollar multiyear investment to bring new life to founder Pat Halls original vision for Carowinds. The park will be revamped from top to bottom to celebrate Carolina culture including new rides and attractions, signature Carolina food offerings and entertainment. Opening in Spring 2015, Fury 325 will be the centerpiece of a new 8.2 acre main entrance plaza that includes a stateoftheart ticketing and season pass processing area and expanded guest service facilities. Starting with Fury 325, we plan to make Carowinds a destination for thrillseekers to celebrate the Carolinas, says Mike Fehnel, Carowinds Vice President and General Manager. The new ride will build on the heritage of the park, creating new memories and traditions for our loyal fans and future guests from around the world. Riders will board into three 32passenger open air trains and begin their ascent to the top of a 325foot (over 30 stories) hill. This immense hill is followed by an exhilarating 81 degree first drop. Like an angry hornet chasing its target, Fury 325 will race through a series of hills, curves and quick transitions while reaching speeds of up to 95 miles per hour. Riders will speed along 6,602 feet of track during the nearly three and one half minute ride. The tradition of the park is so important to those who have grown up here, says Fehnel. Its long overdue that we gave our fans a new energy surrounding Carowinds, which will build on our legacy as the premiere entertainment destination for generations of Carolinians. Those who cant wait until Spring 2015 to experience Fury 325 can take a virtual ride at carowinds.com/fury325 where they can also check out photos, virtual renderings, ride stats and more. This Fall, fans can purchase a 2015 season pass or renew current season passes for the lowest price of the year at carowinds.com. Fury 325 is designed and manufactured by Bolliger and Mabillard (B&M) of Monthey, Switzerland, a recognized industry leader in roller coaster development and the same firm that brought Vortex to Carowinds in 1992, Afterburn in 1999, and The Intimidator in 2010. Carowinds is owned and operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, a publicly traded partnership that is listed for trading on The New York Stock Exchange under the symbol FUN. In addition to Carowinds, Cedar Fair owns and operates ten other amusement parks including Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH, three water parks, one indoor water park, and five hotels. Cedar Fair also operates the Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park in California under a management contract. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=42435&start=3900
  7. I look at RMC stuff as a hybrid doing their own thing. And what they are doing is producing big thrills that are unique to their style.
  8. Not just Intamin. I am just tired of seeing the same stuff go in. I love Banshee but I still would like a variety. Several manufacturers are making incredible coasters right now. Branch out, try something new.
  9. I hope the day comes soon when Cedar Fair goes back to using various manufacturers instead of just B&M.
  10. I like the Fury name better anyway. A lot of people don't, but to each their own.
  11. They read the sites so if I don't like something or won't make use of it I will give my opinion on it. I don't have to just accept it and be happy with it.
  12. I'd be willing to bet the Fast Lane line is longer than the regular line during one of those Sundays. This promotion isn't really worth the Fast Lane in my eyes. I'd be more likely to go for it if it were offered to use at any point in 2015 instead as a one time use. Hopefully the people that renew enjoy their passes though!
  13. Well think of it in this manner, had any of those coasters been built today by people like RMC with their technology they would more than likely run great.
  14. Tennessee and Virginia are much worse than Kentucky.
  15. Mantis is junk to me. However i do not hate all stand ups. I was not looking forward to my ride on Vortex at Carowinds and it ended up being pretty enjoyable.
  16. If they convert the ride to floorless I will be willing to ride it again as will my wife.
  17. I can't stand when people try and be so black and white about certain things. The situation needs to be taken into account.
  18. I say shame shame on Kings Island for this one. If he hit a growth spurt mid summer after using the pass and buying it at the smaller size that's what pass he should get to use for the year not be forced into an upgrade.
  19. The other day I got my highest score. Ended up with 1470.
  20. Was it the people who joined after that time or the site itself changing?
  21. So if this is two days and if we are relating it to Woodstock based on the name given maybe there will be camping offered? Maybe inside the park for some? Hmm....
