  1. ^Yeah, that is what I read. Could be anything? Eiffel Tower? J/K Like I was saying originally, Screamscape is often wrong, but hey, 1 out of 10,000 guesses is bound to be correct. Just take it for what it is...a RUMOR.
  2. Directly from Screamscape, so, take it with a grain of salt. Apparently, PKI is considering removing a major ride. What that might be? They don't really say. Link Please don't take this as the gospel truth because, often, Screamscape is wrong. Anyone care to speculate? Of course, we've discussed the removal of The Vortex, Top Gun, and even The Racers, although Screamscape doesn't specifically say that it will be a coaster removed.
  3. ^Um, he said that Americana is Standing But Not Operating...meaning it's not open.
  4. I think you'll see the height and speed race slow down, but not stop. Especially for Cedar Point. Everyone's not going to jump on the theming bandwagon either. CP is not known for theming, and they are not about to stop. It's not unsafe either. The incident at SF was due to the rider and the ride ops not paying close enough attention. The maintenance is only bad for Superman at SFMM. The other Superman coasters do just fine. Don't know anything about hypersonic, but I do know it's not a hypercoaster. It is not over 200ft tall. Plus, there's only two of them in the world.
  5. It's not all that different from Top Thrill Dragster. A few mph, a few feet, and a bunny hop. I'm sure it's good though.
  6. But, maintenance on The Bat was due to poor design. There was zero banking on any of the turns.
  7. ^ I have heard for years that it was having a problem valleying in one certain spot when it rains. Of course like Judge Judy says, if it sounds ridiculous, it probably is.
  8. This year may be different with maXair near its' location, but Wicked Twister is usually a short line, and I've heard even with the new ride, it's still only a 45 minute wait. Most people run right for Raptor or Millennium Force first thing in the morning. Probably Dragster too. Mantis is a great stand-up, unfortunately it is extremely slow loading/unloading, so the line seems to be always long.
  9. Except the cars wouldn't have enough weight to complete the circuit.
  10. It was a very fun coaster. The helix was really intense.
  11. I didn't see it posted anywhere, but have you seen the new PKI commercial featuring the Italian Job? It shows a cop writing a speeding ticket and handing it to someone in line for Italian Job. Then, it goes on to say that perhaps they made it too exciting. It had some good footage of the coaster and effects.

    Bavarian Beetle

Yes, I rode the Bavarian Beetle. It was my favorite when I was really young. Of course, that was before The Beast, Vortex, etc. It was a very fun coaster. It went through a helix that seemed to last forever. I heard the problem with it was it was valleying in one certain spot when it rained. Don't know if it was true or not.
  13. This is not a recruiting center.
  14. I have heard that some of the turns would be too tight for a floorless train. I'm not saying it is fact, I have seen this discussed on other coaster forums before.
  15. "Only if you replace it with a bigger woodie." I thought that it was said that wooden coasters could not be built higher than SOB.
  16. Cool story about The Beast. I remember a story from a couple of years back. I was exiting The Beast and a couple of kids who apparently never rode Beast were saying how they thought they were going to go through the wall on the final helix.
  17. There's a big difference between overrated and getting tired of riding it. Any time you visit a park really frequently, all of the coasters and rides will start to get boring to you because you've been on them so many times. Don't go for a year or two and this should help. The Beast is not overrated. It is still considered one of the best in the world and I believe it's an ACE coaster classic.
  18. Count me in as one of the p*ssed people if Racer is removed. However, others have posted the two main reasons it won't. Ace coaster classic and singlehandedly re-starting the coaster revolution. Let's not forget the other wild rumor that someone had their arm ripped off in the final tunnel/helix at the end of The Beast. Jennifer, you must be the resident PKIC hottie. I don't know how many guys have been typing GO BLACKHAWKS!!!! as the last thing they say when they probably don't know who the Blackhawks are.
  19. I was not aware of this until I read it at Coasterbuzz, but, SOB's track is wider than most other woodies. That and the loop are two of the main reasons that SOB needs special trains. Also, I don't really notice Mean Streak shuffling back and forth, whereas Sonny does.
  20. I haven't been either and was wondering what the big Hollywood makeover was.
  21. It's not the track that needs fixing, it's those horrible trains. That's why you get that "jackhammering" effect. If you ever get the chance while riding, pay close attention to the train itself and watch how it shuffles back and forth. You don't get that on any other coaster. Another reason you may have had a smoother ride is due to the wheels. Since it's still the beginning of the season, I would say that they are new. This can greatly increas the smoothness of the ride.
  22. Usually, rcdb.com has a ton of coasters, current and defunct. I was just trying to find a pic of Bavarian Beetle, but rcdb seems to be having a problem right now. I just went back to rcdb and they don't have any pics. I also tried Coasterbuzz, but no luck there either.
  23. I don't know about the train stopping, but there were cowboys and indians fighting eachother.
  24. Yeah, you're right. Although, I belong to Pointbuzz and Coasterbuzz and the height difference has been mentioned, but no one is really harping on it as a record or anything.
  25. There's really no way to tell what the crowds will be like. Although, I haven't consulted the magic 8 ball yet. It's the same at any park. The weekdays are ususally slower than weekends.
