"So tell me, how is 0-40 MPH not noticable?" It's noticable, just not note worthy. After all, how many high speed car chases only go 40mph anyway? Frankly, I only noticed two of the three. Where is the boost? I know the initial launch and the launch at the helicopter. Where's the boost that isn't a launch?

"What do you think Adventure Express is??" A mine train coaster, not a wooden coaster.
-
I'm not sure I'd wait that long. Probably only an hour. MF, on the other hand, is worth a two hour wait.
-
"Sit in the very front on SoB next time. It is sure to be a MUCH better ride." No, don't do that. Sit in the middle seat of any car and you should be ok. Riding over top of any of the wheels spells certain pain.
-
^There's never been any theming while on the ride. Station only.
-
So, not the parking lot then. I was right. Cookie for me.

I like the Sleepy Hollow idea. "They could have an indiana jones themed wooden coaster." Actually, they can't. Disney owns the rights to any Indy themed rides. Lucas thought that only Disney could produce any Indy rides worth doing. I hate to see that too. Not smart on Paramount's part. Doo, I never knew Jodie Foster did the voice of Pugsley. Interesting to know.

Being a night shot and all, I can't really tell. Is that the area where IJ:ST is now? Might be the old Antiques station.
-
^Yeah, it was. I don't really remember any special lighting though. I do remeber the 3D like plane that used to be on that huge billboard back there as well.
-
^Sorry, but people still know who the Addams Family is. Maybe not so much the real young ones, but, people know AF. Problem is, there are not that many good Paramount movies to theme any attractions to. And the ones that are good are already in the park. Of course, there's always Kiss the Girls. Also, Top Gun hasn't been popular in at least a decade, if not more.

Longest I waited was for five hours for The Beast, back in the early 80's. TTD is worth a wait, Jasper, but not three hours.
-
"Really. What is it." I can't exactly remember where I read it, but it has something to do with the axles.
-
I got to ride it twice when I was there. All of the effects were working and I didn't see anyone get stuck. I also wasn't very thrilled with it either. Cool effects, but that's about it.

What clones? What is Top Gun a clone of? Looks like a suspended looping coaster to me. PKI's is a suspended, PC's is a B&M invert, and PGA's is a B&M invert too. The Bat is not a clone of anything, it's a boomerang coaster. Vortex at PKI is a Arrow mega looper, PGA and PC have standing coasters named Vortex and Canada's is a suspended coaster.

The nations top 10 theme parks
KIBeast replied to pkiboy's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
MSN reports almost exactly the same top 10 list every year. Nothing really changes about it, except maybe the order. -
"I think SFGADV would be wise to hold off on the Intamin woody for a year or two. Considering their latest Intamin essentaiy destroyed itself and is requiring additional millions to repair. But hey as said before this is Six Flags and they aren't know for wise decisions." But, their wooden coasters have not had any major problems I have heard of. Not only that, you are talking two totally different types of technologies.

Does PKI bring out the kid in all of us.

That first walk through the gate and walking by the fountains does it for me. When my family first started taking me there, the first thing we would do is eat LaRosa's pizza next to the fountains. It got me even more excited to know the day was about to begin and I could forget all about school and home life. I guess that's a big part of why I am partial to LaRosa's pizza. -
^I'm glad I skipped it then. I stopped there to get a soda in between marathon riding and thought it smelled pretty good. I always get LaRosa's pizza. Festhaus burgers are crap. If I go again, I'll have to give the Happy Days diner a visit. I thought it looked great.

All you Six Flags haters better hope they don't belly up. Think how many parks would go close and then you would have to find private investors to re-open them. Maybe some would never re-open and I am all about having as many choices as possible.

First, I don't like the new 2005 park maps. The attraction index is alphabetical, which is fine, except when you look at a number on the map, you'll spend a long time looking for the attraction below if you don't know the name of said ride. Yes, I know for myself and others, this is not a problem. But, what about the people that have never been there? I was also noticing under Park Guidelines & Information, concerning the Park Attraction Rating System, all of the rides have some wording and I was wondering if this was new. Ever ride states that this ride may require some rider body control and is not intended for unaccompanied toddlers or very young children. Has that always been worded that way? The reason I ask is it seems they might have added body control with what happened at SFNE and the Superman:Ride of Steel coaster. Or, has it always been there and it just so happens that it applies to the afformentioned accident?

"About Top Gun, While in the station on the 11th I saw that some wheels were FREE SPINNING." This is not a bad thing. I've seen it on other coasters and not just at PKI.
-
"its the same as ttd all it is is bigger and faster and my bro works at Cedar Point and dragster really is bigger by the way!" No it's not. Dragster = 420 ft. Kingda Ka = 456 ft. How do you figure that TTD is bigger?
-
Taller and faster isn't the way to go. That just gets boring and pointless after a while. Dragster is fun, but way too short.
-
"Think logically people! Its not the trains on SOB, its the track that ungulates so much that makes it shuffle so bad." This has been talked about over and over again. The trains are the problem on SOB, not the design or the track. And since ungulates is something hoof shaped or hooved, exactly where is the track hooved on SOB? It's all in the trains.

They would build a floorless before changing Mantis. They are still in the coaster race and they would rather up their count than just to change another coaster. Not only that, it costs like about a million dollars per train. I doubt they'll sink that much money in to an older coaster.
