Closure of Dinosaurs Alive and opening of lots of land.
That may be true, but you are referencing a handful of people you know, compared to the millions that go through the gate every season.

The coaster enthusiast community here may complain about the capacity on Firehawk, but what does the General Public say? That is far more important as the coaster community makes up less than .000001% of all customers through the gate.

Parking Lot Needs Work
This is exactly what I was thinking. Make paving the parking lot a multi year project. You wouldn't have to put out all the money for it all at once. As a matter of fact, they should start this off-season, since no major capital project appears to be happening this year, other than a new restaurant.

Oktoberfest Area Facelift?
Yeah, the old glockenspiel needs to make a comeback. As a kid, I always thought it was really cool. Still think KI could add a Tilt-A-Whirl somewhere in the park. Not sure if it could be placed anywhere in Planet Snoopy, but it would fit in there.

XBase really would be much cooler if they put in a collection of flat rides over there. It would draw attention to that area, increasing foot traffic, thereby increasing traffic for FOF and Firehawk. Not to mention, the much needed bathrooms in that area of the park. You could also add some food offerings in there.

Very well thought out Hmrapp. It will be interesting to see what the future has in store for KI. I have been attending since the late 70's and it's amazing to me how much it has changed. When my family first came, Racer was the premier attraction and the entire park was just magical from the moment we went through the front gate. I would agree with a lot of sentiment here that I would love to see a giga added to our skyline. Oh how much that skyline has changed since it first opened. Of all things I would like to see return, it would be the ivy tunnel. Ok, not just that. I would love to see more rides that the whole family can do and a return of some classic rides like Der Spinnin' Keggers, Bayern Curve, Rotor, and Antique Cars.

2018 Construction in Coney Mall
True man, but usually, there is either a new coaster, new flat, or water park expansion.

Scooby Let Me Down.
Just my opinion, but I far preferred the Enchanted Voyage over anything that has been in that building.

There will be more than a new restaurant next year. How do you market that to get people through the gate? And that, is what it's all about.

Closure of Dinosaurs Alive and opening of lots of land.
I have a question that maybe some of you more tech savvy people can answer. As we all know, the line to The Bat is ridiculously long. I know at one point, the exit was shared by Son of Beast. My question, is the terrain out there friendly to install maybe a thrill ride or a coaster out that way and utilize that line? Just a thought. Maybe someone has already asked that on another thread and I didn't catch it. Really, that is my only complaint about The Bat is the distance from the beginning of the line to the actual station. I am happy that we have that and not Iron Dragon. The Bat is much more thrilling.

It's not a horrible idea, but the economics may not be there. The reason CP made TTD launched has a lot to do with the price of steel going up an addtional 110ft. above Millennium Force, which cost around 30 million. I also like the idea of them building a giga while also utilizing the surrounding terrain.

Ideas For Better Thrills!?
I would like to see an addition to Xbase. That story and coaster would fit rather well. Wouldn't mind seeing if a giga coaster couldn't somehow be fit in there. I know there's maintenance buildings back there, but maybe it's something that designers can work around.

"The Bat's" complete history
You always do a great job with your blog. I knew some of the history of The Bat, but there were some things that I was unaware of. I got the chance to ride this legendary coaster and it was really cool. Funny how years later, I had heard some of those rumors concerning deaths on The Bat.

Cedar Point changes for 2018
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it will be moved elsewhere. From what I understand, that show is really popular and CP knows this. I think that this was a great idea. They already got rid of the other eyesore when Disaster Transport was demolished. When I get in line for Wicked Twister, it always feels real cramped for space in that area. Take out the stadium and you have a great view.

2018 Construction in Coney Mall
First, I would like to confirm that as an Admin, I believe that you in fact messaged me to let me know that the name of a topic I had posted was changed. It was called Crisis Avoided. It was changed to have a more positive sound and feel to it. In retrospect, I didn't really consider whether my topic subject sounded alarming. It actually did, so I am glad that it was changed. It was more about the wonderful job that the KI office staff did to help avoid said crisis. As far as Terpy, I think people are being a bit harsh. Yeah, he seemed to have some knowledge that others did not. However, I never felt that at any point was he bragging about said knowledge or trying to hold it over anyone's head as a matter of ha ha, I know and you don't. Obviously, he had a relationship that he did not want to put in jeopardy, nor should he have been asked to. I never met him personally, but always wanted to as we have pm'd each other and he was or is from my area. And from those messages, I can tell you that I have never met anyone who cared about someone he had never met than him.

EPCOT is getting a coaster
People assume because old Vekoma Flyers are the way they are, the company hasn't improved on or wanted to improve on their own technology. I wouldn't be surprised if the reliability and capacity issues have been resolved after all this time.

Flat Ride at KI
Just rode Tiki Twirl for the first time this year at Cedar Point. That ride is a total blast. I am adding that one to my above post.

Flat Ride at KI
I think a Tilt-A-Whirl would be a great addition for Planet Snoopy. I am hoping we see a return of Antique Cars. Would also like to see Boo Blasters re-done. That one hasn't had a makeover in years. I also would like to see a ride like Sledgehammer at CW as well. Something like Tiki Twirl at Cedar Point. Added this one as I had forgotten about it until JubJester reminded me.

Improving Que Lines
I also understand that times have changed. Apparently, with those changes comes the FunTV to "entertain" people while in line. I admit that I watch a little. Mostly to catch the temperature and current weather conditions. On my trip to Cedar Point this year, on our 2nd day there, we did not have Fast Lane as it did not make sense as we would leave that day at 5:00 to head home. So, we get in line for Millennium Force, which was a 30 minute wait. My son (8 years old mind you) complained the entire time while in line as to how long we had to wait. I remember the first time I went to CP, which was 2000, when MF was brand spankin' new. My brother and I waited for an hour and a half to ride on both a Saturday and Sunday. We were extremely pleased at how short our wait was because both times when we exited, the sign said 3 hour wait. Now in his defense, at 8 years old, 30 minutes translates to 3 hours .

Improving Que Lines
I guess I am just different, but when I grew up and waited 3 hours for The Beast, I didn't need some kind of entertainment while waiting in line. We had no TV's in line. We (gasp) talked to each other. Personally, I don't believe there will be expenditures on the lines as they are unless it's more shade on some of the lines that lack any. Beyond that, I just don't see it happening. On another note, I truly hope an antique car ride is coming to KI. If not, I think their next major project should be to re-do Boo Blasters on Boo Hill

I like this design as well. Thrill Biscuit...always coming through.

What will replace Dinos Alive?
What is located at Cedar Point and Kings Island have zero to to with each respective park. Both have a capital expenditure plan that places what they feel is best at each park. Otherwise, you wouldn't have a WindSeeker at each nor would you have Delirium and maXair (identical rides) at each one, or Raptor and Banshee (same manufacturer and type). The reason is probably more like reliability and marketability. Since they don't draw a lot from the same markets, it hardly matters that Kings Island and Cedar Point would both have an Intamin Giga. The general public is really none the wiser anyway.

I would be down for buying a KIC t shirt. Love the green colored shirt posted earlier.

Red Track spotted at Batavia Steel Plant
I like the orange color of that track. Cool name as well. Really interested to try a dive machine. I will get my chance next summer on my trip to Cedar Point to ride Valravn. My kid will finally be big enough to ride or I would have taken a lap this year. Which is something that has me really excited for next summer. He will be able to ride 6 new coasters next year at CP; GateKeeper, Wicked Twister, Steel Vengeance, Maverick, Dragster, and Valravn. Plus, he will be big enough to ride maXair.

Richard Zimmerman named new CEO for Cedar Fair
Being that Zimmerman was Ouimet's right hand man, I think we can expect more of the same.
