  1. So, a patron tells the ride op that his seat was pretty shaky, which was ignored and then ride op offers to let the next patrons ride or be replaced by someone else. It absolutely blows my mind that you have a previous employee who says this: Yeah, I know that these people (who provide the rides) are in business and have a reputation to maintain, yada yada, so they have to maintain their portable rides. Except in the case where selling tickets to ride is more important than public safety. Thanks, but no thanks, I'll stick to permanent rides that have mechanics on site who are well versed in maintaining and inspecting their rides.
  2. I have heard all of those same things about The Vortex being discounted due to The Bat's failure. Remnants of The Bat still remain. Old footers. The design of the doors under the station that indicate a track from above, as opposed to the one below. It would be an interesting thought as to where it could have gone had it been built prior to '87. Or where it could have been installed had The Bat not been a failure.
  3. No arguments in that there are more recognizable characters. Again, I am guessing price point and being recognizable at all are what keeps them renewing. Until either becomes just too extreme, it will stay Peanuts.
  4. Like I was saying, in my experience, the kids I have seen love the Peanuts characters. Sure, there are other properties, but I am guessing they want way too much $$$$$ comparatively. If Peanuts become too expensive or just so unrecognizable any more, I am sure that CF would re-consider. Until then, this is what the park has chosen to stick by.
  5. Since we are on the topic of flat rides, what would you all like to see KI add in that department? Not sure how feasible it is, but I would like to see a new coaster wind up in X Base. Maybe some flat rides back there as well.
  6. That's funny. My kid loved the movie, has watched it several times, and loved interacting with the characters while at KI. I saw a lot of other kids doing the same.
  7. Not many here would get your reference of Electric Boogaloo, but that really made me laugh. Whenever I see a sequel to a movie, I always add that in to the title. Now, on topic, it's interesting to say the least. I hope it is a sit down restaurant as my old butt needs a nice place to be seated while eating.
  8. Really, it all boils down to money and recognition of these characters. With the recent movie, they have brought Peanuts to a whole new generation. As long as this license doesn't reach a price point where they feel it would be better to purchase another more popular brand, then as you guys have said, it will stay with CF.
  9. http://ir.cedarfair.com/newsroom/press-releases/news-release-details/2017/Cedar-Fair-and-Peanuts-Worldwide-Extend-Peanuts-Licensing-Agreement-to-2025/default.aspx From the Press Release:
  10. A very well deserved award. Mystic Timbers definitely packs a punch
  11. Yes and no. Not sad as safety is #1 priority for the residents of FL. I suppose sad in that it had to
  12. Funny that this topic re-emerges year after year for quite some time now. I think a lot of people feel that it needs to be replaced and I would agree with that sentiment. I liked Phantom Theater and wouldn't mind seeing something similar, although I am doubting this only due to the fact that it seems the shoot-em up dark rides seem to be in right now. I, for one, would love for this ride to be the addition for 2018. Speaking of which, when will we hear an announcement for 2018?
  13. As a seasoned rider of Flight of Fear, I feel I can add a few points to this conversation. I rode it the year it opened when it was Outer Limits: Flight of Fear. The hangar used to be so full of people. I was excited to ride it as this was the first LIM launched coaster. After getting my first lap with the OTSR's, this was fun, but at the same time, a very head banging experience (not in a good way like a metal concert haha). However, when the OTSR's were removed and replaced by a lap bar, this made for a much more comfortable ride. Having been on it several times over the years, I learned from other enthusiasts that once the wheels are worn to a certain degree, the ride becomes noticeably rougher. So that definitely is something will affect your ride. However, even with having been on FOF with worn wheels, it's still not as rough a ride as The Vortex. I sincerely love this coaster as it is very disorienting and there are a lot of directional changes, which can be slightly jerky, but nothing like Adventure Express. One of my favorite parts is right at the end. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but just when you think it's over, FOF throws one last thrill at you. Enjoy!
  14. I have only been on Dominator, and that was when it was located at Geauga Lake. It's a great coaster. Lots of speed, a rather large loop and the interlocking corkscrews are a nice touch.
  15. The Bat Check out this video of the original Bat.
  16. I like Adventure Express and my son does as well. Eventually, it will leave. In favor of what? Who knows. And at what time? None of us know. All of these old Arrow coasters are getting up there in years as well. I also agree that the CCMR trains are not as comfortable. It's also a lot less fun, IMO.
  17. I really like the Videos from George. Question. What is the white circular building behind The Racer?
  18. I'm not sure it would be 10 years, but not within a few years of Valravn being built. As popular as they seem to be, I wouldn't be surprised to see one in KI's future, especially with Steel Vengeance about to open which will move everyone's focus to that new coaster. I don't believe it would be a record breaker though. Next season, my son will be 52" and we will be riding Valravn, so I'll be able to see what all the hype is about with the dive coasters. Not to mention that he'll be able to ride 6 new ones altogether next year.
  19. Oh ok ha ha! Just had not noticed it before.
  20. What is the member's reputation that seems to have a score in green under your number of contributed posts? Just curious
  21. Ryan, I remember when this site first came to be. There was I think PKIU and PKIGuide combined to make KICentral. You have been a major contributor and have provided great insight along with cool interviews, promotions, etc. The problem ( and I use that word loosely) you have is a good problem. Thanks for all your efforts
  22. Apologies, I was just giving you a hard time. I have not been on Valravn, but it looks like fun. The general public seems to like these kinds of coasters. With that being said, CF will go with that and not what the coaster community thinks KI needs. Personally, I'd like to see a wing coaster or giga coaster installed at KI. I did get a chance to ride GateKeeper and loved it. Who knows what's in store for KI in the future. I have wanted a giga a KI ever since Millennium Force opened. But sadly, that was 17 years ago. Maybe one day? It's fun to speculate though.
  23. You are correct. Racer is an ACE landmark. Not sure if it's a protected landmark? I love Racer the way it is. Good pops of airtime.
