I thought that they were originally putting Drop Tower in that Flight Commander spot back in the day. Remember after it was removed, they had a sign there saying something along the lines of something new "dropping" in that spot. Then it went away and eventually we got the bungees.

Probably so that they could test it with the trains to see exactly what it would do. -
That's a very optimistic view of how the day will be. I'll try to leave around 4 with my fiance and buddy so 3 more people should be able to get in.

Ah yes, Voyage. I've ridden it once so far, and started with my hands up. That didn't last through the whole ride though. I'll try again this year... I will not be defeated! It's tough to do. First time I rode, I held on the whole way to see how intense it was. Then the next time I went with no hands the whole ride. You get thrown around so much it gets a little painful. So now I just keep the hands up for the first few drops then hold on for the craziness.

Breakin' the law, breakin' the law!

I like that idea. I honestly never really thought about taking the path in that direction. I guess the only thing about that would be that it'd be like a mirrored version of the Coney Mall area with The Racer as the center of attention. Maybe it could be the Bizarro Coney Mall. Or maybe it could be Coney Maul all year round on that side and have haunted attractions.

Cam's been flaky for me. Are the rocks large, like boulders? -
I'm thinking that this discussion has ventured way off base here into a serious hypothetical realm that isn't totally necessary. I don't think crazypkikid said to burn SOB in the sense of hoping that it would catch on fire while the park is open with riders on a train causing a catastrophe to the park. Why would anyone mean that? He meant it in a way like taking a wrecking ball to it so that it's not in the way for KI to expand the park. Maybe the choice of words were taken a little too literally. I read it as just taking the ride out. Not causing a disaster.

I'm hands up for hills but hands down for long straight stretches (I'm looking at you Beast) or extreme lats like on Holiday World's coasters. Hands Up + All Day at HW = Bruises

Could be that with the freezing temps, they drained it so as not to risk testing DB's ability to plow through ice in the water. -

No, think rain. Think....the Grand Canyon. Water did that. -
Don't feel sorry for SOB fans. Obviously they feel no pain.

Maybe they could use monorails instead of trains. And have animals out there. Hmmm. We're onto something new and original here. Edit: AintNutinElse2Do beat me to it.

They can only go one direction at this point...........underground. Hopefully they don't delve too deep and awaken a nameless fear.

Haha, I agree!! After 25, birthdays are all down-hill from there! I don't know, we threw a pretty sweet Star Wars birthday party for my future brother-in-law for his 30th. As Terpy would agree, Star Wars enthusiasts are of a different sort!! There's A LOT that hasn't happened with most of them before 30 anyway!! Heeeeyooooo! Oh wait... I'm a Star Wars enthusiast.....*Walking away, head down, Sad Charlie Brown Christmas music playing*

2009 Park Map - any thoughts?
LongLiveTheSmurfRide replied to SeasonPass4Life's topic in Kings Island
I'm not sure what's up with them. I'm not even from Cinci. But I love me some Smurfs. The Smurf ride had a hill at the end, but you couldn't see it on the map because it was indoors. I believe it would rival the Perilous Plunge if it was still around. -
2009 Park Map - any thoughts?
LongLiveTheSmurfRide replied to SeasonPass4Life's topic in Kings Island
Last I saw on here, it IS coming back. I'm glad too. Look at that building on the map. Very grown-up looking. Lots of adult oriented right angles. Yellow is the color of champions. Not like that cartoony looking DB representation. I'll definitely be hanging with Bob more than that new kiddie coaster. -

How can you enter the train on the same side that people are exiting? -
2009 Park Map - any thoughts?
LongLiveTheSmurfRide replied to SeasonPass4Life's topic in Kings Island
Yeah, the map picture is giving me second thoughts about riding DB. It just looks too cartoony. Like a kids ride. I hate kids rides. I'm not riding it. I won't even look at it while I'm in the park because of its cartoonish-ness..um...isms. Cartoonishnessisms. -
That's crazy. My boss asked me yesterday if I could work on the 18th (I already have it off, but someone else asked off and they wanted me to cover.) I was like, "Noooo no no no noooooo. That day is off limits." I'll work on my birthday (July 4th, which I'm currently not, heh heh) but not April 18th.

2009 Park Map - any thoughts?
LongLiveTheSmurfRide replied to SeasonPass4Life's topic in Kings Island
So looking at the map, what path do you think will be the quickest from the front gate to DB? Looks like you could take the first path by Scooby and through Nick U. or take the path by the Tower and International Showplace. Early in the morning, I wonder where they'll have people line up to ride it before the ropes fall. -

Wow, that's really cool. It's like the peaks of a mountain range. It'd be sweet if a train was going over one of those hills into the fog. -

The video should include a 1+ hour long wait through the queue so that the "riders at home" can truly experience the ride first hand.
