  1. Yeah, they don't seem to show on the mobile site.
  2. No, but they do have police officers in addition to their security force. If someone was arrested on site (and needed to be jailed), they'd take him or her to the Warren County jail.
  3. I have been searching eBay for memorabilia daily in the off-season. Haven't bought a lot (just a miniature stein), but the map and menu were both on my watch list. A new auction started today but I'm hesitant to share cuz I don't want to encourage people bidding against me! Ok, I'll share. A set of six mugs from the 70s: http://m.ebay.com/itm/161581311606
  4. Uh huh And all we need from you, Muscle Shoals, is a little incentive to build near you rather than in Fort Worth. Don't you want those jobs, don't you want those taxes, don't you want that tourism dough? It honestly sounds to me a little like the "you've won the Irish Sweepstakes (that you didn't enter)" scams that predate the Internet. We just haven't yet heard what the equivalent of "wire us a fraction of your winnings to cover the taxes" the anonymous emailer has in mind.
  5. I wouldn't know the upshot, but it sounds like someone laying the groundwork to scam a local government*. An anonymous email press release is certainly not the typical way a multi-billion (with a "B") dollar project would be announced. If it turns out to be something real, it's interesting. *or governments, as it sounds from the article like Fort Worth may be swallowing similar bait. Edit: perhaps they got the idea from this: http://online.thatsmags.com/post/daqing-government-allegedly-scammed-for-almost-1-billion-in-jurassic-park-scam More about theme park scam in China:http://www.wantchinatimes.com/news-subclass-cnt.aspx?id=20131125000102&cid=1103 Or this: http://www.tribune242.com/news/2014/jun/03/water-park-developer-denies-venture-scam/
  6. I've just been watching these things on Craigslist the past couple of months. They were all relisted on the same day, which is how I realized they were all the same seller (Delirium and Face/Off clearly were but I didn't realize the Son of Beast sign thing was until that time) There was a thread, let me see if I can find it... Some was in the Christmas gifts thread (http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/30528-kings-island-gift-ideas/) but I think the SoB thing was in another. Edit: yep, it was here, fortunately someone added a pic cuz the listing on CL is dead: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/28609-son-of-beast-plaque/
  7. The person selling those has had them listed at least since before Christmas (periodically relisting). There also was a large metal and wood flat sign-like representation of Son of Beast which either sold, or they gave up relisting. The only problems with the models for me are they're quite large (Delirium is three feet tall!) and I found out about them at a bad time financially to be buying something frivolous. Otherwise, I'd probably already own them! I'm a little amazed they haven't been purchased yet, the pricing is very reasonable for what they are.
  8. I finally went and searched my email confirmations from last year. The number on my card doesn't correspond to anything they sent me before I had my pass processed. So, it seems you will need to wait until you get your Gold Pass processed to log in to the site. Sorry!
  9. Welcome to KIC! I'm not certain you actually get that number until you have your pass physically processed at the park. I will check my email confirmation from last year and my card to see if it matches up at all.
  10. It is so weird to see a car parked there
  11. I'm pretty varied in my musical tastes. I gravitate towards happy music and/or songs that have something interesting going on on the bass line. Among my more uncommon tastes are bluegrass (I would love to learn to play banjo) and Sousa. I enjoy music from before I was born and my childhood more than stuff that came out from my pre-teens through the past few years. There was about a decade where almost no new music appealed to me (beginning of the 2000s) but the past few years there have been several new songs I like.
  12. I think that generally the park gets discounted products in return for advertising/exposure.
  13. Did they ever get the video recording working on Banshee? I remember a lot of talk when it started being installed, but don't remember ever seeing it available. Maybe this year, if not.
  14. Dewey's tomato-based sauce isn't sweet, it's actually rather spicy. I never notice that so much on my tongue, but my lips get sore from it (although it is so tasty it is worth it). If I get my own pizza, I usually get the white sauce instead. I love their pizza, and the dough they use most of all. We would drive about 40 minutes to get to Dewey's about once a month. Then recently they opened a new location about five minutes away from us. We've been having it a LOT. Buying two extra-larges and eating the leftovers over the course of the next few days. I'm not at all tired of it.
  15. According to things I've seen posted on Facebook, others are also having trouble with platinum passes being recognized. Hopefully they will have it fixed soon.
  16. I already bought mine, but once the park opens for the season (and before April 30th) will there be the ability to buy Coasterstock tickets at the gate, thus avoiding the $6 fee for the convenience of using Accesso?
  17. What's your source on that info? It's the first I've heard it mentioned and it doesn't say anything on KI's Coasterstock page. I'm out too if it's true. I am a Coaster Crew member, but the platinum was only recently added and I hadn't gotten around to upgrading yet (in part because I haven't seen a clear way to do so yet, only to join at platinum, not upgrade a current membership). Edited: I see they have added it as an option now to the coastercrew.net website if anyone else needs to upgrade to platinum. Going to do that tonight. If I get blocked out of Coasterstock for being 20 days past an unpublished deadline, I'll be a little annoyed, but I can deal.
  18. I don't know if they will be, but at the end of last season, they had the glasses as prizes at the Coney Arcade for a single ticket (they also had Starlight Spectacular printed ones available). I got a bunch of them and am squirreling them away. I meant to take a pair and go ride the ride with them on but forgot to ever do it. I don't think they'll ever be worth much, though, because the ride just isn't as popular as its predecessors. However it is possible in another 15 years there will be twenty-somethings reminiscing about BBoBH from their childhoods.
  19. I liked "Earthquake!" Granted it was so long ago I have no clear memory of it... It is odd they haven't really had one all these years now you mention it.
  20. It's a little weird, but I feel like having a King would make the park "his", while now it feels like it's "ours." I agree that if there ever was a King, it should be during Haunt. Some sort of mad King inside the entrance welcoming people. Although the current character in that position is quite good, and I'm not sure I'd want him replaced.
  21. In the Facebook thread of the announcement (https://www.facebook.com/visitkingsisland/posts/10153464055928368:0) someone asked about the preview for passholders and this was KI's reply: So that answers that.
  22. From Twitter, same opening date as last year. https://twitter.com/kingsislandpr/status/555400827150798848
  23. Has that ever happened before? I've been here less than a year myself, and I usually just find myself confused by his hints. I'm ok with that, and I love a mystery. Tying up some loose ends eventually would be nice too... Hint hint
