  1. I am a gold passholder too. How dare Kings Island only give me a 10% discount on food and merch and not a 25% discount.
  2. It's certainly not law, but if Kings Island doesn't want its guests passing out from dehydration, then they better as heck give us free water.
  3. Thunder Run was to be Top Gun's original name, until Paramount came on set in 1992 and quickly changed the name to go along with their slogan for 1993... "Where the Magic of the Movies meet the Thrills of a Lifetime"
  4. From my observations and thoughts, it would seem that high schoolers run the park during early weekend operation. A great deal of universities let out after the first week in May, so college students are ready to go by May 15th and will be running the park during the first two weeks of daily operation (May 15th - 27th). Then summer comes and goes, and everything is hunky dory. Then, a similar thing happens in the fall, although reversed. Some high schools may go back as early as the week of August 7th. Most colleges won't start until the last weekend in August. So once again, those last two weeks of daily operation (August 8th - 19th; just like the first two weeks of daily operation), the park is staffed by a majority of college students. Then sometime in the last week of August/First week in September the college folk go back to school and the park turns back over to high schoolers for the rest of the season on weekends and during Haunt.
  5. The ride operators seem to do this whenever it is a low capacity day. That is, whenever Boo Blasters is a walk-on. I imagine it is to control those pesky teens who think they can hop over all four handrails without injuring themselves to some capacity. I think they do this to separate you into groups to make it easier for the person by the loading platform. They also do this for Fast Lane and to count Fast Lane capacity. But basically if a group goes into the ride with 8 people, the first ride op at the end of the hallway informs you that you need to separate into groups of 3, 3, and 2. This way, when you get to the ride op at the moving platform, he can load you quickly and efficiently and doesn't have to wait while you decide who should go with who, since your groups would have already been decided.
  6. I want this. So bad. Problem is, Premier's track rusts, so that's why they had to stop doing it. See B&M and Diamondback's splashdown.
  7. Are the green and red lasers right before the stair case working again?
  8. I would sign anything that gets KI to implement more theming into the park.
  9. This is from a different Boo Blasters at another park, but the first of three signs reads the same.
  10. I've brought this up before...but here is Kings Dominion's International Street Soundtrack Seriously, how hard is it to copy this at Kings Island? Maybe a only few more royalty fees?
  11. Even if you get to the top of the tower, there's no way you could safely climb out to a seat on the end of the gondola.
  12. Does the first tunnel still smell awful?
  13. Wasn't 2011 the same year that ERT was one hour?
  14. Frontierland was the original concept for Rivertown, but ya know, let's make it look like we're a little more original instead of just blatantly copying Disneyland. Probably the most common misconception among guests at the current time. Today at Surf Dog: Ripe Op told a guest's father that one of the kiddos wouldn't be able to ride because she was too short. Guest to Ride Op: "How come she was 44 inches when we measured her on the height wall by Diamondback?" Ride Op: "Which height wall?" Guest: "The one right outside Diamondback" Ride Op: "I didn't think we had a height wall by Diamondback, but if you want to double check there's one right over by Woodstock Express." *guest bows his head and guiltily walks towards exit gate* I laughed.
  15. I loved that song when it played over and over in Coney Mall. Not sure if it still does...
  16. Maybe they weren't pleased with the new manager that they supposedly hired...
  17. Where was that? Are those Vortex's supports? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. If I remember correctly I think they were called "StarBright Flash Lights" when it was Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle.
  19. I keep a list of codes that I have yet to redeem. This worked quite nicely and I second that you should be able to do this more than once.
  20. i'm gonna go with the "falling trees" is a joke for "log Flume falls down its hill"
  21. My guess is that at the lanes that at the "self-scan" lanes you will also be able to purchase preferred or standard parking, but it would act like an automated Kiosk, and would maybe take only credit card.
  22. I wonder if the fence will have a teaser on it like Banshee's did or TR:TR's did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. That would be nice. There are a lot of rides that adults have to have a child with them in order to ride. So technically speaking, they CAN safely ride....but I think that restriction is designed to keep lines short for the kids Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. If you look above Don's head in the video, you can see the marquees on the new toll booth say "Self-Scan"...... Edit: Beaten by chugh43 Italian Job, feeling a bit slow today.
