  1. Struggling to find an appropriate link, but I believe once you have signed up, they can expedite due to 1) pending military deployment, 2) Extreme urgent situation, or 3) Humanitarian situation EDIT*** And probably 4) Because they said so. :-) EDIT #2) *** When the President calls a State of Emergency, special powers go into effect as well that probably also relate to thing like this.
  2. I have a daughter that is an assistant manager at Aldi. The hours she is putting in just to keep the store running are insane! Her store literally broke daily sales records each consecutive day this week. At some point these folks are gonna need a really nice break---and they'll have earned it!
  3. Most virus' do. Come and go. Quickly. That's a fact. No?
  4. I figure at least by June most of us will have either already gotten it, and built up immunity/given up OR it'll just be gone/we won. We're not going to hole up endlessly. Just one dumb*** guess, but that's my 2-cents. Other option is it goes away in summer and comes back hard next winter. Either way, the park is gonna open at some point. Again, just one dumb*** opinion.
  5. I doubt they're gonna be that desperate...but you can keep dreaming.
  6. I'm ALREADY getting all kinds of offers in my Inbox from businesses that I've done business with before that want my business to continue NOW. At a discount. I'm sure many of you are getting the same e-mails. Time will tell, but I figure Cedar Fair will be no different. Once Kings Island is open, they are going to do whatever they can to get people out of their quarantine/house and into the park asap. I can't wait. I can't wait for the discounts AND to get into the park.
  7. Hey, wait---that is free disaster supplies. Delivered, free of charge.
  8. Ridiculous to try and classify all coronaviruses as simply the common cold. We've all heard of Ebola. However, there's actually several different varieties of ebolavirus. Some are crazy deadly, and others not deadly at all.
  9. Until the virus spread hits a peak and starts going down in US, it's a hot mess "out there". Much panic, despite the small numbers currently. Local schools are making preparations to close with one positive, so yeah, I figure amusement parks are probably top-of-the-list to get shutdown, too. I sure hope not, but when you see entire countries locking down that does not bode well for parks of a few hundred acres.
  10. Perhaps this step announcing closure will bring a buyer forward. I'm semi-local, and most folks around are really shocked to hear this news that they had not seen coming. Even if they hadn't visited in ages, still shocked. Indiana Beach has been a staple forever. One of those staples that many locals probably took for granted.
  11. Also glad to see they are open all the way to November 1st. I think they should always stay open up to the weekend of or right after Halloween. Closed one weekend too early in 2019, IMO. But I know Winterfest cramps their schedule depending on how the calendar plays out.
  12. My parents and extended family will be happy the park is closed on Easter, again. Personally I found visiting the park a great way to celebrate...
  13. Fortunately we can also see # of posts.
  14. End of discussion? Ahem. Far as I can tell Vortex still does have a pre-drop.
  15. https://gph.is/1EFtfKI Sorry, not talented enough to embed the freakin' giphy on this site. Apparently. Jeebus.
  16. I've wondered if it won't still be there come April? Probably not. But if there's no plans for the site it still looks better than a huge empty lot.
  17. I think they should keep the station open next season, and ya'll that love it can visit and stand in line for 30 minutes to an hour to enhance your park visit while I hop on Orion! :-)
  18. Son of Beast station is not in a prime location now...but it once was prime real-estate. Anyhoo...yeah, I think they might use The Vortex station for temporary or even long-term-haunts, might keep it later, might tear it down right away, or not...there's a ton of options for the land that Vortex occupies. Safe to say we dunno.
  19. Son of Beast station still stands. Just sayin'.
  20. There is no safe haven in town anymore. If you need total silence you are hurting. We are a fan-family. Used to be basic 20" box fans, but now we run these at night in every bedroom. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Vie-Air-18-High-Velocity-Floor-3-Speed-Fan-Model-VA-18-Black/199917647 If there's ever a fire, we're probably screwed, but we sleep well otherwise.
  21. Agreed. But we don't see the numbers they are looking at. (btw...wtf is up with your signature paragraph? might wanna tone it down)
  22. I figure it's like an old car. At some point you just gotta cut your losses and let it go or you're going to get killed maintaining it...aka diminishing returns.
  23. Property values for homes right around the park are quite high. I know Warren County has a lot going on, but no way they would be that high if you removed the park influence over the past 40+ years. It's a trade-off. If it's too noisy now, sell, and find a quiet place to call home.
