Some Googling and you can find many scientific articles suggesting this is simply not true. Also, I'm surprised nobody here has mentioned that countries across the globe have reported an unexplainable number of smokers who either do not get Covid-19 and/or do not end up in the hospital if they do smoke. I'm not endorsing smoking by any means, but France has even begun nicotine trials to try and figure out why smokers are noticeably less-susceptible to the Covid than those who do not smoke. I neither agree or disagree with what was said in the video. Some of the points are potentially valid, we'll just have to wait and see. Any large venue whether it be a concert venue, a major sports venue or league, or an amusement park is hurting right now. I saw a fan video posted from Universal Orlando---granted it was right after they re-opened---but the park was desolate. They rely massively on tourism from around the globe, which makes it slightly different from KI. But when you combine the fear of Covid-19 combined with those concerned about people not wearing a mask and those who won't go if they do have to wear a mask...this not going to be a banner year for any park, and certainly not KI. My family happens to enjoy Chuck E Cheese (haters gonna hate). But it's kind of the same thing. How do you protect guests to the nines, enforce a million rules, force people to do things they don't want to do (potentially throw them out), and then expect them to have an amazing time while they pay their hard-earned $ in what has become a crappy economy where one has to make really difficult decisions about where to spend their entertainment dollars? It's ugly out there.

What we really need---no, deserve---is a 24/7 feed from the park on what is going wrong everywhere in the park.

Now that Vortex is gone they could do something there...out of the way. Around the big brown box there's space. I know smoking sections are not their priority, I just find it weird they put them precisely where lots of non-smokers go. I want multiple smoking spaces just like you want your Freestyle (lol), but I "get it", too. I just think they could do better for all of us.

I smoke, but I think KI has done a really bad job previously in their placement of smoking areas in my opinion. Last year people could eat on the patio outside Reds grill (or whatever it's called now), but they put the smoking section adjacent to the patio. That would ruin MY meal on the patio---can't imagine how people who don't smoke felt. I enjoy smoking by the pond next to Slingshot, but it's better served as a perfect place for families to eat outside instead. Right outside Festhaus---whose genius idea was that? And now they're putting everyone in a herd outside the front gate...excellent. There are multiple places they could send us that would be convenient enough, but slightly out of the way and not on full display aka better for everyone.

I think you're misunderstanding me. By going to KI, I am assuming I might get Covid-19. At that point, it really is irrelevant how many people in Warren County are infected. Nor does it change my risk of hospitalization or death. Honestly everyone going to the park should be aware they are at risk of getting it.

Hmm. Then how does one do risk-assessment in this case? If was older, I would not consider going anywhere near KI. Because the data is out there that age is a major factor. There's other factors of course, but age is the most visible.

Nothing is certain. However, according to all available data there is an overwhelming chance I will survive if I get Covid-19. Same goes for my 3-hour-drive to the park, and my 3-hour-drive back.

I am absolutely looking at hospitalizations and deaths when determining if I will go to KI this year. I do the same when deciding whether to go to the grocery store, or even to work in the morning. I'm not afraid of getting a really bad cold---been there many times before, that does not concern me. I'm worried about the likelihood of hospitalization and/or death.

I fear masks are going to be more virtue-signal than protection. I hope not, but I see where this thread is going...

Your graph was technically accurate, but calling Harris County, TX a hotspot is NOT accurate. You just made that part up. Pull up Marion County, IN, or Cook County, IL if you want to see a hotspot graph. 25-35 cases out of 10,000 is not a hotspot. They are worried about Harris County becoming a hotspot, but it's not yet. Here's Marion County, IN (Indianapolis) compared to Harris County, TX (Houston)

Just speculating, but walking around the park WITH a mask I'm guessing so. On a ride? Surely not I'm thinking.

I hate to break it to you, but guests probably aren't going to be required to wear masks 100% of the time. They have left some wiggle room to cover their butt's. And to allow people to get a break. And we'll see how it plays out once they're actually open. I think it'll probably be a lot more lax than your post suggests.

Interesting. I don't know if it's safer or not, but I can do it most of the time and so will---as best I can. So many differing viewpoints and for differing health reasons. I think someone here wanted those who don't wear masks banned from the park. I assume he meant permanently. And then he followed that up by telling us he tried to wear a mask mowing his lawn and couldn't do it--had to hire a kid. I just hope everyone brave enough to attend the park puts their phones and judgement away and has a good time. And, perhaps most of all, I hope nobody gets sick because of their visit.

I'm not exactly Sherlock Holmes, but if you look at the streets in major cities in America you will quickly realize social distancing is so uncouth. It's ironic that in the burbs people are mostly following "the rules". The Covid-19 rules, that is.

I don't know why one would wear a mask while mowing and pulling weeds, but please keep in mind there are people with certain issues who cannot wear masks due to certain issues. I don't pretend that's what we're really talking about here on this forum, but it is a thing. For some.

Regarding mask requirements, as of TODAY (and every day feels like a week or two with this virus) Indiana is not requiring school employees nor children to wear masks when we go back around August 12th. This might end up varying by school corporation to some degree. One of the problems I learned today is if we tell parents everyone at school is required to wear masks and will be enforced at all times, and then little Johnny takes his off for a break, then the whole class gets Covid because of little Johnny....the school becomes open game for a lawsuit. Because we didn't 100% guarantee everyone had a mask on at all times. So it's not required, and parents know it's not required, send your child to school assuming all risk. There will be many differing opinions on this I'm sure. But it's half checking with the county health department, and half checking with the dang lawyers. If you catch my drift.

If anyone has articles that proves the virus being readily spread outside I would like to see it. Evidence of this kind would certainly impact theme parks. Most everything I see is fear-based rather than fact-based, and suggest spread outdoors is rare. I understand in life anything CAN happen. I just haven't seen anything indicating a big outbreak from outdoor transmission. If you know otherwise, educate me.

Guessing it's just an online form that you fill out saying you do not have Covid-19 symptoms, and are otherwise healthy enough to visit. Then signing your life away saying you will not hold the park accountable if you were to get the virus at the park.
