That's clearly for the second set of Flying Scooters so y'all don't have to go into Planet Snoopy to get your fix. Duh. Also, it's just a stage. Wake me up when they're actually using it more than staring at it for pictures.

So instead we deny the homeless and transients access to bathrooms? Seems legit. Also, the solution would be to have some sort of an attendant who would be the one cleaning the bathroom. That said, I do believe the stations are currently unattended except for train staffing, so surely they wouldn't want the expense.

And thus one would think that health and safety codes would dictate their availability, since they dictate their size and capacity. Your examples are of governmental agencies, however, and different rules sometimes apply to them. They should all have restrooms available..

As a public-facing business, is Kings Island even legally allowed to deny customers (guests) a bathroom after inviting them onto the property? Seems that would be against some health code or another.

Yep. That joke isn't mine, though. Credit goes to Mike Fehnel in his Fury 325 announcement speech. -

250 kph ~= 155.34 mph Formula Rossa is said to actually do 149.1 mph per RCDB. That's 239.95 kph, or essentially 240 kph. -
Also, even some ride types not called floorless have no floor on the train. See also: inverted, wing, flyer, etc.

Carowinds' Thunder Road to race no more

No matter what, decisions to keep older rides, refurbish them, convert them, or replace them (and with what) must make good business sense. If not, the park as a whole will not last. Good business sense is what keeps the place profitable, and thus the gates open. If a business doesn't make money, or worse, loses money, that's no good. Now, there can always be more to the decision than just business sense. Maybe keeping an older ride would be profitable but not as much so as another ride. In that case, the park could stick around for quite some time. Maybe the reason to consider if it was profitable enough to keep a ride was a sentimental reason, but the park needed the financial insight to back that up. Don't mind my random ramblings.. -
And guests with gates slammed on them, who are then yelled at for pushing back in a dramatic fashion so hopefully the yelling ops would instead realize that they're being impatient? If you don't let guests board the train, you have no reason to dispatch it. If you have no reason to dispatch trains, you have no reason to be paid. We're the guests, the ones with the money. Don't forget that. Ironically, an op over at Intimidator wearing a Fury 325 crew shirt did an exponentially better job of encouraging boarding/de-boarding guests to move quickly (but carefully) so everyone was ready to send the train.
-
At Cedar Point, they like to let all guests in before open (probably right around 9AM at the front gate). They'll let you walk all the way down past Starbucks. Which is open. Ready to take your money and let you buy yourself a treat to start your day, before the mad dash to your first ride. KI does not seem to do so..
-
Or they could be like Fury 325... "In five seconds, you should be seated with your seat belt buckled." *Exiting guests still haven't all stood up let alone left the train* "Five" "Buckle your seat belts!!!" "Four" "Buckle your seat belts!!!" "Three" "Buckle your seat belts!!!" "Two" "Buckle your seat belts!!!" <...> Really? How is that doing any good? You're not helping anyone. You're not encouraging anyone. Honestly, I don't think you're even looking at the train while you say this. And closing the gates as guests wait on the platform between gates and train for the train to clear? SMH. They're definitely not even scanning the station floor before closing the gates. It's not like actually paying attention to what the delay is (every single cycle) and encouraging guests to get off so the next guests can board would delay the train more. It might actually make me less frustrated with you after a day of marathoning Fury 325. </rant>

Oh.. I hadn't noticed.
-
Shouldn't that go in a 2015 thread? Also, since you already mentioned it... Those tickets can be purchased online here.
-
Hmm.. B&M hyper / giga trains where there's a floor but many a shorter guest cannot reach it while seated?

What do glass bottles have to do with deaths at the park?

That banner was found on the site of a New for 2015 ride for which, or so it seemed, park fans spent a *century on* speculations. -
^ Do you mean this news?

Unless they've moved it, which I doubt, both cams 1 & 3 (formerly 1 & 2) are mounted atop the truss of Power Tower's tower. Cam 2 is located on the roof of a food stand along the Main Midway, Corral I believe.

Meanwhile, I'm just sitting here waiting for an actual announcement or convincing leak (e.g. Carowinds' permits) before making much ado about anything..
-
You don't have to argue. If the ride ops don't feel that you are properly restrained, they should not dispatch the train. It's that simple. Politely discuss if you wish, but it's up to them to clear you. Arguing with flight attendants is a great way to be kicked off of a plane.
-
If I were you, I'd be glad that the ops (and supervisor) insisted that they feel comfortable you were properly secured before dispatching the train. If they took your word for it and you really weren't properly secured, and the unfortunate happened, everyone would wish the ops had insisted on double-checking your restraint. Like they're supposed to. *sigh*

^^ Tell that to Gatekeeper.

Need I point out that Kings Island made the first move, all of last season, with the installation of Banshee? They don't need to respond to other parks responding to their ~$30 million installation. Kings Island will continue to receive the investments that the park's market warrants. That doesn't mean that every time another park somewhat close puts in a new coaster, Cedar Fair/KI must do the same.

Hmm... They could use the elevator to test the waters, so to speak, with an above-gate restaurant. They could always rebuild the entrance plaza with a similar feature and perhaps even reuse the elevator. That said, we've only seen two such front gate rebuilds so far. Let's not get ahead of ourselves and assume that the concept will be used everywhere.
