A question about the park. What is the rain policy there as far as rides go (shut down for rain, lightning, etc)?
-
We are planning on being there as well. Just trying to decide if we should dress like ducks
-
Yes. A little overboard sometimes, in my opinion, but its still there.

We have done both (paid online and paid at the park). It is actually a little cheaper to pay at the park (no processing fees). Plus, you can see if you really need it. I have seen folks with them on days that it everything was a walkon. I know its a lot of money, but if you only have one day and want to ride, I would recommend it. The heat they are predicting wont help either. I have never gotten a discount at KI with seasons passes (and have asked), but it does not hurt to ask again if you have one. Its odd that Cedar Point offered it, but they more I read the more I see that not all policies are across the board. Something other things to consider, I think it also a bring a friend day. Additionally, seasons pass renewers get a free Fast Lane for Sundays. In any case, I would recommend waiting until you are at the park to get them (if needed). Go ahead, have fun, and Welcome to KIC

It is their version of One Directions Best Song Ever, if this is what you are talking about. https://youtu.be/t1nG6GtumZg Welcome to KIC

I checked with the Street Drum Corp Blood Drums crew. Good news is that they have a new show based on the new Street Drum Corp album coming out. The bad news is Wrecks, 6th Street Bridge, We are Machines, and the other great songs will not be played this year. I am a little disappointed and excited all at once.

I accidentally discovered a tip that I want to pass on. If someone already has said this, please forgive my ignorance. I keep a general park bag that I throw in the car when we head out. There are wet wipes, some small tools, flashlight, zip lock bags, etc. I add chargers, extra batteries, medicines, etc the day of / night before as needed. The plan is that it stays in the car and all other items go in the cargo shorts with fastenable pockets (not really a word but you know what I mean). So, we get to the park this morning at 10AM and Mother Nature is making up for White Water Canyon being down. We brought some windbreakers, but just in case I put the contents of each of my 4 pockets into the zip lock bags. When we had to go through security, it was a lot easier to hold 4 baggies and my keys than all of the individual components. The bags are clear, so they can check them out if they want. After going through, other than keeping my passes out, everything went back to its assigned pocket. (A little obsessive, I know) It ended up working so good, I used it all day. The only part I changed was I used the lanyard holder for my Funpix card. When on the rides, I detached the plastic section and placed it in the pocket. This was easier than before, as I used to stick it with the passes in the wallet. The only con that I found was unziplocking my wallet with the passes and credit cards during purchases or dining plan usage, but I am working on this. I am sure most of the folks on here have their own method, but just throwing this out there.

I recall one night that my son and myself were there. We were through security and we had to go to the bathroom. We went up to the fencing leading to one of the raised areas that have some shrubs and stepped over them and went to the restroom. When we went to go back, we were stopped and told to go back through security. No big problem and I honestly did not give it much thought. It may have been early in the season or I planned accordingly thereafter. We usually try to get there early, as the lines for security last year were pretty long. I will say this, it does look like they have more Security ques this year. I hope that the plan is to fully staff them during Haunt.

It was kind of funny. About everything running was walkons or a couple a trains if you wanted a certain seat, but it seemed like a lot of the rides were down.
-
This hit me today when we were leaving the park. I noticed that the Security "wall" is now across the entire entrance. Last year, at Haunt, it was in such a way that there was access to the bathrooms. If the Haunt lines are like they were last year (and I can not see why they would not be), I have a feeling that there may be a few more "puddles" in the parking lot. (I gotta give credit to Holiday World for the restrooms outside of the entrance). Something to plan for accordingly. I wonder if anyone has mentioned this to guest services? While I am not against security sweeps, I am not a fan of puddle jumping either.

I did notice while at the park today, this should fill in a nice blank space in Rivertown. With White Water Canyon down for the season and The Beast not running all day, that corner of the park ended up being just a way to get from Backlot to the train.

Agreed. Last year was a mess with this

After a rather hectic workday, I finally pull up the webcam. After first I am wowed by no lines, then I realize that it is after 8PM and the park is closed
-
We are looking to possibly go down to Dollywood near the end of the year (December). Do the coasters run at that time? I would hate to travel all that way and find them down
-
Maybe its just me, but the Banshee webcam has some sort of bouncing white light dancing over the coaster. Can someone else confirm this?

I always get a chuckle when I hear the part about keeping my legs in the car and not standing up. -
Its Kings Island. It will only not be fun if you make it that way

Additional Bring A Friend for $15.99 Days at KI in 2016
Gannersdaddy replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I have been once to the ERT in the morning when it was Diamondback and some of the kids rides. It kind of soured me doing this. Last year, I could get in at least 3 rides before it opened up to the public. This year, maybe one. As far as a weekday, it will depend on how many people are there. They open the gates at 9:30AM. If you have ERT privileges, there are two gates on either side of international street with security to let you in once you shown them proof. These gates come down at 10AM. -

I hope so. We went around this time last year and it was great. I dont recall them having this many bring a friend days in a row at the beginning of the year. -
