  1. Hmmm. While the track does look interesting, we have not had good experiences with the trains (restraints) from Lightning Run. I will be watching for actual ride reviews.
  2. That's what I was trying to figure out. I hope that it is not a mess to get in.
  3. Also, I am seeing a lot more lights on in the park on the webcams. Make me feel good
  4. I did a little out of the way driveby on Wednesday on my way to Detroit. I was kind of hoping to stop in the outer dropoff area for a quick rest and check it out. It was all blocked off with construction equipment. Looks like they are redoing the parking lot. I would have gotten pictures, but it was just me. A little further up is the new gate. I am not sure how this will work out, but I am intrigued.
  5. When you have to take business trip up North and plot a KI driveby (still undecided)
  6. Such a nice day. The wind reminded me of WindSeeker. Then I remembered that WindSeeker does not run when its windy....
  7. I was cruising along until the 10th question....
  8. I got Vortex. I would not have thought that. I guess it saw my profile pic
  9. Advetnure Express is a fun night ride as well.
  10. Maybe the new method to get through the tollbooth?
  11. Good breakdown! I think I am going to try to pay more attention to Flight of Fear, as I did not know all of those were in there!
  12. When you make it official by putting in vacation days in your meeting calendar, direct bosses calendar, indirect bosses calendar, and tracking spreadsheet for dates from opening day to closing day.
  13. One thing I hope for is a little volume control in Festhaus. It was to the point that if they were doing a show and we were hungry, we would eat elsewhere.
  14. Guilty as charged. We ate one there once, but the rest of the time was either heading the to Beast or the often unopened Coke station at the train. (Dodging the basketball game at the same time)
  15. I both liked the water element at the station and felt sorry for anyone that had to clean it after midseason.
  16. Here's my take: Banshee: Good coaster and good restraints. Pretty smooth throughout. My advice for not getting too sick is to not watch the overhead rail but dont get fixated on just one view. Firehawk: Good coaster as well. First time is a really good thrill. Smooth throughout, but the last brake is a little jarring. Pack light or use the lockers. I have seen / heard lots of pockets emptying at this last brake point. The restraints, while different, are not too bad. You will have time to watch the ones in front of you load, so you can see how it goes. This line seems to always move slow, so maybe hit this one first. Delirium: Another fun one. Used to scare the crap out of me. Now, I really like it. Smooth. You can close your eyes and just feel the motion. Good restraints on it. Drop Tower: See Magenta Lizards post. One thing I did not see, but this one seems to be the most big person unfriendly ride at the park. I can have the right ride op push down and lock me in. Good ride though Nearly all (if not all) have seats outside that you can try, both for fit and to take you feel a little better. As for hand holding on these, it is doable. If going with a death grip, dont do it on the hand grips they have. Someone else will have to post on Extreme Skyflier and Slingshot, as I have not ridden these. As for money, its your call. The best deals are online, just be sure that your tickets are printed legibly. Most meals are around $15 with drink included at most places. A lot of folks here like the Reds Hall Of Fame Grill. I have not been in there yet, so they can talk prices for this place. There are places down the road that you can go to. While you can save money, you lose that park time. So, your call. Something else about getting a drink cup. While the Coke Freestyle places are great and the 10.99 deal is good, there are no bins to place them on Banshee and Firehawk. You either have to pitch them, have someone hold them, or get a locker. Actually, if you have any loose items (purse, camera bag, etc), they will tell you you have to get a locker. Rental is $2 for 2 hours. I know someone mentioned it, but parking is pay as well. Its for the vehicle, no matter how many are in there. Hope this helps and above all, have fun
  17. Diamondback for ERT. Nothing quite like starting the day going 80 miles an hour into some great airtime. More than once it has woken us up and got us revved for the day. Couple this with the infamous "Diamondstack", ERT is the best time to get some good rides in before the general public. To further add, the nighttime ERTs are awesome as well. While not quite the atmosphere of The Beast at night in the station, it barely edges out The Beast on the track (in my opinion). Not sure who said it, but agree that Diamondback should be kept on ERT all season.
  18. You should go just to check it out. Its a good day trip and you can get some new coaster credits. I am curious about the new coaster and how that will work. I do hope it stays around, if nothing else to keep the surrounding parks from going lax.
  19. Since we started going as a family, Chic-Fil-A has had most consistent quality and service so far. Our family all can get what we want there. The other places have their strengths. Sadly, I have yet to have a great burger at the park. They are mediocre. at best.
  20. The side I miss the most was the carrot and raisin salad.
  21. We just put ours on my sons card. If we all go, we are set. If its just him and I, or him and momma, we should still be ok. At least, that is our thinking. I guess time will tell
  22. Or maybe up the ante and get a Arrow to make them an X2.
  23. I agree. I have only been to Cedar Point once (well, one 2 day trip), but we thought that was the best one at the park!
  24. I fully agree. We always beeline it straight for Diamondback at ERT.
