  1. I would love to see a B&M multi launch but I feel like CF would go with Mack for a blitz style coaster. After the success of Bluefire and Helix I'm kind of surprised we haven't seen one come to the US, hoping this is possibly one. Another point a fellow enthusiast brought up to me is that the more "family friendly" coasters seem to have better first years at KI. Diamondback is still arguably the #1 coaster at the park even after Banshee, a lot more intense coaster, was built. He also mentioned that Firehawk didn't raise attendance like KI hoped it would back in 2007. Because of these reasons I have started to doubt that we will be getting a super intense coaster, and are getting the more "family friendly" GCI twister. A GCI would round out our wood collection with a fun ride that people of all ages would enjoy.
  2. I doubt we get a Eurofighter because of capacity problems. I think a Wing coaster is the only other option, because of the capacity issues, but with it being in the woods it could be so similar to Thunderbird.
  3. Beast will probably remain popular simply because of night rides, Racer will become even less popular.
  4. I'm sure the city of Mason doesn't want it to be too loud. We also could for sure get a 300 foot coaster considering the Eiffel Tower is over 300 ft tall.
  5. Exactly! I have been on both Leviathan and Fury and they don't compare to anything KI has. They both have some airtime hills toward the end but that isn't anywhere near the focus of the ride.
  6. I mean we are theoretically the #2 park. We should be getting big investments. Nothing against MA but it isn't the best location for a park while KI is in driving distance of 3 major cities.
  7. I never thought the 2 would be similar I just think a giga coaster would work better in other spots, but what do I know! But seriously I think that is the main argument against a giga coaster is that most people can't see them being next to each other.
  8. Location can make taller coasters look smaller then the Eiffel Tower. I imagine if a giga coaster was built where DA is that it would look around the same height, if not smaller, then the Eiffel Tower. The tower will always be the focal point of the skyline but that doesn't mean other TALL things can't be built.
  9. I love how KI is subtly hyping this up. Taking pictures of the fence and the next day talking about all the Eiffel Tower could see. If it is a coaster I think a GCI twister makes the most sense. The only problem I could see with a GCI is they have low capacity. Large parks like CP and KI generally need coasters that can fit a large amount of people per ride.
  10. You are correct it would be considered a giga coaster just like Apollo's Chariot is considered a hyper coaster.
  11. Even if we do get a giga coaster I doubt they would break every record that Fury took. I'm thinking a giga for us would probably be around 310-320 foot range as to be the tallest coaster in the region without taking everything from Fury 2 years after it opened.
  12. 5 year plans are not necessarily set in stone, they evolve. This also doesn't mean we are sticking to a coaster once every 5 years. It is possible that CF saw the success of Fury and want to do that at KI, not likely this early but still possible. While parks usually do have a pattern things, parks also break the mold.
  13. I think it is possible that we get a nice woodie my money would be on GCI, but to me a 50th anniversary woodie just sounds so much better imo. I personally would love to see a B&M giga or an attempt of a blitz coaster. I think a fast, high intensity ride that uses the speed and over banked turns would compliment our line up very well. Diamondback is filled with floater airtime and anything like Fury would have a nice intense ride that has a surprising amount of ejector airtime. Now I think on the wood manufacturer I think GCI is the go to for CF. They are fixing GhostRider and are rumored to be fixing Hurler at KD. GCI is also the manufacturer of the last 3 wooden coasters for Cedar Fairs. Not to mention they are the company that gives The Beast it's TLC and have done amazing things with it.
  14. GG also has Ravine Flyer 2, I have heard good things about it but my friends who have ridden both it and Voyage say that RF2 is just like a smaller Voyage. As for other GG coasters 3 coasters named Jungle Trailblazer came out recently in China and while we don't have stats they look to be very fun rides. If we want to go back to CCI coasters then you can also add Legend, Raven, Ghostrider, and Boulder Dash. Granted we don't know if anyone at GG were involved with these coasters but they truly are legends. On the topic of the Giga coaster, we are most likely looking at B&M if we get one. While B&M make the hyper coasters my experience with there giga coasters is radically different then the hypers. While it is technically possible they could just make a bigger Diamondback, I doubt they would break so far from the successes of Fury and Leviathan. Both Fury and Leviathan have some airtime hills toward the end that give out some decent airtime, but it is far from the focus like on the hypers. While I doubt any coaster other then Skyrush will put you through more G's then I305. I doubt we see another coaster with that level of intensity be built in the near future. B&M while not always bringing the most intense coasters, can certainly make you feel the g's.
  15. I think Fury is AMAZING. Fury is my #1 coaster ridden, it is oddly intense compared to other B&M's, it has great moments of ejector air time. I think another kind of steel coaster that would be cool is a blitz coaster. Depending on the wood coaster I could get on board. A bigger GCI like Viper would be cool, or a nice twister like Prowler would also be pretty nice. I really wish GCI was the one to design SOB as it would have been a better ride and would probably still be standing. Another cool idea is GG making a bigger Voyage and bringing the real intensity SOB deserved. GG has made some major hits and very different kind of rides compared to other wooden manufacturers.
  16. Terp who makes you question everything.
  17. Exactly I think this is going to be the Happy Valley wing coaster. The rumor is that we are getting a giga coaster...... I personally would love to here what the theme would be. If it is considered part of X-base you have a ton of options. If it uses the old S.O.B station I think another mythology name would fit well, you could even rename Action Zone to something like Haunted Hill.
  18. I doubt this is coming to us. There are so many coasters that use this track and the fact that this plant ships all around the world just makes the chances slim.
  19. As for the entrance rumor I believe Mr. Ouimet said that he thought that KI & KD had grandiose enough entrances already. I think there is little to no chance that we get this giga coaster and it interacts with the entrance. Unless they plan on moving Invertigo and removing the amphitheater. That being said I think it is a little to early for that big of a coaster....but maybe management saw the success of Fury and got some extra funds. I personally think 2017 will be a dark ride in the Crypt building. The work in Rivertown could very well be making the area look nice for its next attraction. But we can't forget the land behind Banshee that was cleared for the first time........ 10 years ago. I'm not saying that area isn't going to be were a coaster goes but it being cleared really isn't anything different.
  20. Maybe a wing coaster to use the name Skyhawk again?
  21. The land back there has been cleared for a long time except for some dirt piles that could have been used for a number of different projects this year. I'm not saying that it isn't possible we get a giga coaster just not likely imo. KI has recently teased that they have a open space now that the Funnel Cake stand has been moved. If we are getting a coaster in 2017 I personally don't know if it is that large or an investment maybe more like $15 Million imo. That large of investment would probably come closer to 2018 or 2019. More recently I think 2017 is either a dark ride, possibly a "coaster", or a flat ride where the funnel cake stand was.
  22. I think its very possible that we see a Flat ride that Canada's Wonderland has received recently. Possibly something similar to SkyHawk. Canada's Wonderland is often considered the testing grounds of CF.
  23. Gonna say this again the B&M Giga coasters are NOT just larger hypers. They use over banked turns and the speed to ramp up the intensity, while they feature some airtime hills that does not make them the same experience. A giga is still the biggest ROI in a coaster IMO. Also How would you be able to work a flight theme with a wooden coaster?
  24. This doesn't guarantee anything. I won't say all this stuff is for a coaster until I start to see some footers. Could it possibly be for a coaster Yes, BUT it could also just be some dirt from the construction around the park. However it does make this area a little more interesting for now, because of the construction in a pretty clear spot. We will find out if this is for anything when we get closer to the announcement for 2017. For now we are Most just going crazy with speculation because Mr. Scheid posted a picture of Rob Decker with blueprints. Sorry Terp
  25. Racer is the coaster that brought coasters back to Amusement parks. This isn't some local icon it is literally the reason why we have enthusiasts today without The Racer then parks like Six Flags wouldn't have coasters. I think there is no way RMC touhes The Beast I think GCI will continue to be brought in whenever it needs its TLC. Beast is also arguably the best wooden coaster when it come to maintenance KI treats it like a baby, always giving it the TLC it needs. I think RMC will only come in if we are getting a new coaster, our 2 woodies just have too much history behind them to be touched.
