  1. GG have some extreme maintenance and forces, kinda hard to sell that when you are looking for a coaster for all ages.
  2. GCI has said they can do inversions.......how about a loop? But in all seriousness maybe it would be a airtime hill or a 90 degree straight section like on Storm Chaser.
  3. Not sure what you're talking about when you say RMC doesn't have a twisted drop. RMC built Storm Chaser at Kentucky Kingdom. It curves left right off the lift hill straight into a spiral first drop! A curved drop is when the drop actually twists as the drop is happening common on Inverts and some GCI wooden coasters. I didn't count Storm Chaser because that is a full inversion in a otherwise straight drop, but as Dragsterguy mentioned Joker has a curved drop. I am still not convinced this will be a RMC but it is still very much a possibility.
  4. I think it is going to be prowler-esque and not a clone. If this is the layout then it is going to be GCI, which could still have some inversions or a launch, simply because of the drop. I don't think any of the RMC's have a twisted drop in them.
  5. Honestly I think the building is staying. If the orientation is correct in that picture then it won't be used as a station, making it a perfect space for a dark ride.
  6. There's nothing wrong with that... We're the only major CF park without one, and now we'd have to wait an additional 6 years. Of course there is something wrong with that. why 6 years? If nothing else, the new leadership has shown there is no exact time table for major coaster installations. If this is a GCI woodie, the costs won't be as high as Banshee, so we may well see a similar 3 year waiting period until we see "decoding project 2020" pop up. While this is entirely possible, with that being CP 150th anniversary I'm fairly certain that will be their year. Knott's doesn't have a giga so we are clearly not the only major park without one.
  7. ^ and that is why I never locked myself int one "team".
  8. I thought we came to the conclusion that the Major Key thing was just some reference.
  9. I am honestly okay with any manufacturer. My personal want would be a giga or a mack launch, but am currently thinking its gonna be a GCI or RMC. I am also confident that it is going to be a great ride that many people are going to enjoy.
  10. Screamscape is who is reporting that Mean Streak will being changed this year. Apparently the Mean Streak crew was told they would be redistributed later in the summer. However it has not been confirmed an RMC conversion. Edit: Beaten to the punch.
  11. That depends on the coaster type and if it even is meant to interact with the reservoir. A wooden coaster type I would probably enjoy a overbanked turn or helix near the waters edge. a giga coaster would probably be the only way we see a splash down and even that is unlikely imo. If it was something like a wing coaster then maybe a slow inline roll like Banshee's might be nice over it.
  12. I wouldn't put it past Don for that to be the meaning behind the tweets. Also Welcome to KICentral!
  13. Why don't you say? Nothing is holding you back.Sent from my SM-G530T using Tapatalk Depending on how he got the information he might have had to sign a NDA.
  14. Knott's has the ability to operate all year which help attendance numbers. Knott's also it has no room for major expansion IMO.
  15. It isn't always about the competition but more about the market.Lets take a look at KI for example. Kings Island is arguably the #2 park for CF and thus will be a prime location for investment. KI is within 3 hours of Cincinnati,Columbus,Louisville, and Indianapolis which give it 4 major cities that it draws people from. Its main competition lies in Cedar Point or Holiday World, one is another CF park and the other is a small family owned park that rarely builds rollercoasters. MA's draw size is noticeably smaller if you consider that Chicago has SFGAM and Detroit is more likely to go to CP. This causes decreased attendance which means there is less reason to invest in the park because people aren't showing up. MA is just poorly placed and will never get a lot of love simply because the ROI isn't there.
  16. In all seriousness, I am going to be excited for whatever we get. I have hopes but am not gonna let those cloud the reality of the situation.
  17. Or a station for a coaster... While not my first thought that is certainly a possibility. The only reason why I think a dark ride is more likely is because of how tall it is.
  18. B&M classifies everything over 200ft a mega coaster because Intamin has Hyper Coaster trademarked I believe. X-Works is to simply keep the park classified so people don't know what a park is getting before the announcement. Edit: I was wrong Intamin has "Giga coaster" trademarked not Hyper coaster. My only other reasoning is that when they first built Apollo's chariot they went with the Intamin name and never changed it when they started using the term "Hyper coaster"
  19. I would assume it is MC for Mega coaster. I can go back and try to find some labels from Fury. Edit: While I could not find a clear picture of Fury's track label I did find the abbreviations. SC- Sitting, LC- Laying/Flying, MC-Mega coaster, WI- Wing, DM- Dive Machine, and IC- Inverted coaster.
