Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees
Logan Goddard replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
^Customer is X-Works, a common name used to cover up the park as to not spoil announcements. Edit: Just realized you meant under that, the location is where it is manufactured in this case the USA. -

How can you tell it's a Wing Rider? On the track they have a label that lists certain aspects. On the Green track it has the term WC on it for model, used for Wing coaster. -

RMC has said they don't plan on just doing topper track, only iron horses for now. Edit: I meant to say that they would no longer be renovating coasters with just topper track, but will still continue to use it for their custom roller coasters. -

I honestly don't know about Mean Streak being converted. Then their biggest wooden coaster is Blue Streak which is not very impressive, so unless they plan on getting a new wooden soon I think it will be a re-profile from GCI. -

Welcome! And I doubt CF is going to rush construction and make a ride unsafe just to get it out faster, no major threat to the park is looking to build a new roller coaster in the next 3 years, other then maybe CP. As for the manufacturer, I'm not going to believe a side until KI says it. Like I said earlier I'm currently 60/40 GCI. -

I don't know if it was already placed but it was on site for sure, I remember a lot of speculation of it being track to make TTD longer. I think we will get an announcement in early August. Also the longer we go without seeing construction/teasers at other parks, makes me think of how much money could actually be put into Rivertown. -

I have not ruled out RMC, but certain things do point toward GCI. The layout is very reminiscent of a White Lightning/Prowler mix, including the standard GCI shed. The concrete layout is similar to that used on GoldStriker. Now for some arguments for RMC. There is A LOT of straight aways, while there will obviously be airtime hills I can see the argument for inversions. People have spotted CF executives talking to RMC, and yes those sources are considered credible. Obviously something big is coming to Rivertown otherwise there would have been no reason to tease it at the 2015 announcement. However I currently am at a 60% GCI, 40% RMC as manufacturer. More will reveal itself the closer we get to an announcement date, but we must keep an open mind to ALL possibilities even if we don't like those options. -

My only worry about an expansion back there is possible bottle necking. I would rather not have another X-Base but this one has a even smaller entrance area. However if KI was able to make an expansion with multiple entrance/exit points then I'm all for it. Edit: Also sorry for misinterpreting your suggestion Oldschool, I am clearly not as good as Terp at it. -
I know Maverick would exist because it was being planned before TTD was announced. Now for RMC, it is a possibility that they wouldn't be a thing but eventually everyone is gonna go outside of the box. I know they have said they will never do a vertical loop because of the issues of SOB.

^ They said that it is likely that it will have a white steel structure, but others like Oldschool have said that the term "girder truss" in the plans is for the bridge. I think a steel structure makes sense with the amount of lateral supports seen on the structure. -
No they gave the world the first LIM launch in FoF. SOB could have been an all time legend if they actually payed for good materials.

^^ It isn't a matter of what I want more but what is the reality of the situation. I would love to see an RMC coaster being put in, but I don't think it is going to happen. Another key thing here is that the past 3 roller coasters put in have been "high intensity" which leaves a hole for the target guests, families. Do I think this ride is going to be a kiddie coaster No, but I think it is going to be a nice inbetweener coaster, based on what we have available. -

I really want Taron to be reliable for Intamin's sake, maybe it can spark some interest from NA parks. I just don't know why people would go to Intamin anymore when B&M can basically do anything they can but more reliably. -

I am convinced if SOB was built with good materials and not rushed we would still have it to this day. My biggest problem with SOB was the trains were just not good, but I understand that those were needed for the loop. I actually would love to see something similar return, but with SOB past I doubt we will ever see something like it again. -

The current tallest I can think of is Goliath at 164ft so it would be relatively close in height to SOB. Fastest is supposed to be Lightning Rod at 73, so a little bit slower then SOB. And of course the longest is already at KI, in The Beast. So I doubt it will break any records, which is fine as records don't necessarily make a ride good, just more marketable. -

At least from the Live camera angle it looks like most of the clearing is covered by Diamondback's lift hill. -

^ The plans wouldn't necessarily be fake, just not complete. The only area that is really accurate would be footers and the area of work highlighted, Everything outside of that is subject to change if I understand correctly. I don't think these are fake by any means, but we definitely don't have all the pieces to the layout yet. -

^ And that is why I love Don as a PR guy! Honestly if this was any other park I don't think decoding would be half as fun, but Don and Kings Island's PR team are just so good at their job. -

Nothing new under the CF name. I don't think we will see a trademark until a few days before the announcement as to keep it relatively secret. -

NO ONE is stating anything as NONE of us know exactly what is going on. GavPenn has mentioned why he thinks it will be an RMC but there is nothing to guarantee that. I think the Coaster Net video was the best way of informing us what certain parts of the blue prints mean. Until we see construction and further plans/hints all we know is about the highlighted area of work. As Terp would say "those who know don't talk, and those who talk don't know." or something like that. -

I'm wary on locking myself into one group because I know for a fact that Kings Island is willing to do a lot to tease people, The Bat wing coaster website comes to mind. Also I do believe that was on Snapchat which I wrote off as a credible source because Don himself doesn't walk around posting "major key" on every rollercoaster. However I think it is possible that this is an RMC, but the layout just reminds me too much of a steel GCI to let my brain go with my heart. Like I said much earlier on everyone has hopes and dreams, but you can't let that cloud reality. -
