Orion is cycling right now.
-
Orion is testing right now. I just watched a train cycle.

Cedar Point knows they have an incredible ride. They’ll probably try to keep Steel Vengeance operating for as long as they can.
-
It’s currently grouped in Oktoberfest, but when it was built it was classified as Wild Animal Habitat.
-
Yes, we sold those at Emporium along with Diamondback and Mystic Timbers.

Another long lost proposed Kings Island Wooden coaster!
KIghostguy replied to collin.klopfstein's topic in Kings Island
It was at some point between 2003 and 2006. Craig Ross was general manager at Kings Island, but it was after the time Anthony Esparza left his position at Paramount Parks Design and Entertainment. -

The Addams Family coaster was a real concept. It ran into licensing issues and the idea was scrapped. The plans did not make it that far. -

Thank you @IndyGuy4KI! If Gforce is really confident that his article is totally truthful and wants us to take it seriously, he should provide the sources he used. The standards we use for most should be applicable to all. -

It was totally designed by Jeff Gramke. There was no involvement from Dinn on that specific project. -

The Dinn woodie is the one I don’t have solid proof on. Jeff Gramke’s Swan Lake wooden coaster will be in my book. -
Valravn and GateKeeper are the two coasters that lead the ridership numbers: https://www.cedarpoint.com/blog/2018-ridership-leaders . The only Intamin in the top 5 is Millennium Force.
-
Don’t play dumb. Your main point in your post I quoted was that B&Ms are not consistently popular. They absolutely are, and ridership figures prove it. They have great capacity; that’s why they always have short lines.
-
Have you ever heard of something called capacity? Short lines =/= an unpopular ride. See also Banshee.

Another long lost proposed Kings Island Wooden coaster!

Your evidence is shaky at best. It’s from a company that wasn’t even directly involved in the alleged project. As a nonfiction writer, I deal with proven facts, not rumors or conjecture. Until I see concrete proof from people directly involved or contracts or blueprints, I’m still keeping that story filed away under, “Unknown.” And again, where are you getting these layouts from? Is it just your fanboy ideas or are these based off the real blueprints you have? -

I still really don’t think that’s really conclusive. There was supposedly an announcement...but nothing about it ever ran in any local newspaper. Again, the people who would have been responsible for that don’t remember it. Conclusive would be the contract, blueprints, etc., which I would love to see and be able to put this story to bed, so to speak. You could not convince a jury with that one line from documentation from a different park in a different chain. Also, you didn’t address the question myself and @TombraiderTyhad. -

I was about to say this. I don’t think Jeff Gramke has publicly released his blueprints, so where is this layout coming from? Also, GeForce writes with confidence that the 1991 Dinn coaster was a serious plan. Is there a source for that claim? Dave Focke and Mike Meadows don’t remember it. That doesn’t mean it didn’t happen—I’d love to see the conclusive evidence he apparently has that proves whether or not it was a serious plan. But all he’s probably going to say is just his usual, “Trust me.” -
Ideas For Better Thrills!?

Kenton’s Cove Keelboat Canal. -
I appreciate the effort. Is there a way to see dates like how it was formatted previously? For instance, having all the Banshee construction photos on one page is wonderful, but is there a way to see the date each photo is from? Thank you for adding so many great photos and adding a search feature as well!

Retheme it to something haunted. Don’t annex it to Oktoberfest. Banshee is an Irish spirit, not German.

Will Diamondback always be the tallest at KI?
KIghostguy replied to skylar.heizer's topic in Coming Attractions
Budget wasn’t the reason why Orion is the height it is. -
Thoughts on the Current State of Soak City

That doesn't mean it's a nice area. -
It’s likely supposed to tie in with the news video they show in the Flight of Fear hangar. Having the van closer to Flight of Fear than Orion allows guests to make that connection between the outside and inside of the hangar. It’s better visual storytelling IMO.

Thank you! It may have been delayed, but the final book is going to be way better than if it was still following the original timeline. -
