Official Poll: After One Season, do you prefer new SOB or old?

I know this poll was given after the first week, however now that a whole season has passed (well, most of a season) with Son of Beast in operation, it's time to have the official poll: do you prefer the new Son of Beast or old Son of Beast?

I prefer it as it is now with the new trains. Although they're not that comfortable and have really hard backs to them the ride itself is better. Theres airtime, and the speed at the area where the loop used to be is pretty cool. Rose Bowl still hurts like hell though.

Seeing as its been a little over a week since I rode the thing, and my legs do not have grapefruit sized black and blue marks (which I got every time I rode the old version) this is an easy poll:

I miss the loop, but the new trains are a good trade off. Now, if they would only add a tunnel where the old loop was...

I haven't ridden it since they removed the loop, but after the torture that happened when it had the loop, I'm almost positive that it can't be any worse now.. So I'm taking the new SOB.

The new trains were all right but I swear I shed a tear when I came out of the break after the rosebowl to see that sketchy looking piece of track where one of my best Kings Island memories used to be.

The new trains are alright, at least you aren't jammed in your seat. But I miss the loop.

I personally love the new trains!! The old trains killed me the entire ride they would push down on the area that sunshine doesnt reach the entire ride. The new lil hump curve thing I actually think its pretty cool you get some air time there going pretty fast

Old setup. When I rode it earlier in the season, it was so rough it was not an enjoyable ride. At least with the old setup, it was bearable enough to ride.

The new trains are much more comfortable, that's for sure, the ride was much better. However, I miss the loop and wish they would have been more creative.

I rode it several times with the loop, and twice (once in spring, once during HH) post-loop, and I see no difference. I plan on avoiding it from now on. It wasn't a ride, it was a beating.

I like the new SOB it does not hurt my legs anymore. Also I can ride it more than one time with out pain.

it needs more speed at the end of the ride. It seemed to go faster in that area when the loop was in place.

The old SOB tore me up. I'm 6'2'' and the old one trains/cars were not meant for tall people. I'd get off and within hours my legs would be covered in bruises.

Even so, it was still worth it to me. I even had a hoodie made for opening day...

I took the old setup becuase while I think that the ride is less thrilling and much duller, the ride itself is now bearable.

I miss the old Son of Beast with the loop but both version are way too rough. I still like my idea about tearning down most of the ride keep the lift and marketing a new ride. LIke Kennywood did with Steel Phantom.

During my '07 visit SOB was closed still, I do not have a frame of reference to comment. However from many of the post here and at other sites it appears that the new trains that were the impetus for removing the loop are more comfortabel to ride in and I'm all for that. Hopefully my '08 trip will include several SOB adventures!

I'm really not sure how anyone can vote for the old SBNO SoB.

I'll take a coaster that gives a questionable ride, yet still operates vs. a ride that is a large lawn ornament.

I voted for the old SOB. It was just definitely a "unique" experience. I never completely agree with the roughness factor. Then again I'm also the one that tells my friends that Thunderhead will be awesome in 20-30 years when it gets all shaky. I guess I somewhat like the roughness to an extent. That extent I like to call the Georgia Cyclone it's a bit much though I still like the ride overall.

I've almost certainly ridden more cycles on The Georgia Cyclone than anyone else who posts on this board.

I would probably have to say that before the loop was removed it seemed like you had a reason to ride it and it was for the loop and now its just like a big huge bundle of roughness. I do like the new trains though except for the loudness going up the hill.

Enough with the tear it down crap!!!! Its not going anywhere no matter how much you complain about it being rough. If you can't handle it then don't ride it. Just stop saying tear it down...we get it. We got it the entire first year you were saying it. Its much better now IMO. I even loved it before the new trains. Now its better than ever.
