New Ride Names now Official

Featured Replies

According to Ryan's post, the Paramount names will change. I wonder if all of them will change or just some of them.

Here are all the Paramount names:

Rides:

Tomb Raider: The Ride

Top Gun

Days of Thunder

Face/Off

Congo Falls

Drop Zone

The Italian Job Stunt Coaster

Eateries:

Wings Diner

Happy Days Diner

Bubba Gump Shrimp Shack

Lieutenant Dan's Bar

I hope that CF changes ALL of the names and not just some of them. We'll see.

Any ideas?

Expect all Paramount names to change. Some will be simply dropping a word or phrase, some will be a total retheme. Of course, decisions on this are far from finalized. I think Don's exact quote at the GOCC thing was that the new names, "Depend on what day it is and who you ask." Which of course implies that the ideas keep changing.

However, I won't be too shocked to see Spongebob, Dora, Diego and many of your favorite Nickelodeon characters at the park for many years to come.

....assuming, of course, that Viacom and Cedar Fair come to an agreement on renewing the Nick license, without which that cannot happen.

Something tells me Viacom's licensing division will be plenty happy to take Cedar Fairs money. Just like the have at mall of America.

...only if it is ENOUGH money...which Cedar Fair may or may not be interested in providing in sufficient quantity . . .

Remember, Mall of America is mere miles from Valleyfair. There's probably a reason they approached the amusement park at MOA, which used to be operated by Cedar Fair as Camp Snoopy.

All names to change? AWESOME!!!!

ALL names will change... but then again, if I went by Bill A. Smith and decided to go by just Bill A., or even Bill Smith, that would be a change too.

So don't be surprised if a certain Top Spin is known next year as The Ride.

If you look at the main sign, the spacing is a little awkward. Makes it look like it says, TOM BRAIDER: THE RIDE. They should just call it that.

So IJST, could very well just be called Stunt Track as well.

Will Congo Falls really be getting the change? I just stopped calling it Amazon Falls, now I will be thrown off again.

i wouldnt worry about congo's name, rumors among employees were that it would be taken out soon anyway.

Yeah, and I hear Vortex is sinking. <G>

The cabana girl strikes again!

haha, i know, but i just thought i'd bring that one to the table.

I don't think Congo Falls is going anywhere. Its high capcity, only water ride from the front of the park to the back of the park and its a great way to cool off and its just classic to have a giant flume ride with a pathway going threw the splash zone.

I don't believe Congo Falls is going anywhere either, but what about it's name? If the name is changed, I hope it just goes back to Amazon Falls.

Do you think they still have the "AMAZON" to set back on top of the "FALLS"

They still have the signs from when the people from the Survivor show were there. I am sure it is floating around somewhere.

Which sounds not too far off from TOM BRADY: THE RIDE.

I guess it would make sense then that the ride is a joke.

HAHA!!! That's Great!

Seibert took it with him when he left, along with some other stuff. ;)

So here's the list if they really just don't get creative at all.

Congo Falls to become Falls

Top Gun to become Gun

Italian Job Stunt Track to become simply Stunt Track (not too bad on this one)

Drop Zone to become Drop

Paramount Story to become the Story

Tomb Raider the Ride to become The Ride

Flight of Fear to become Fear (Nice..... though I don't think this one is affected)

Wings to become W'angs

Delirium (dont think this one is affected but for the fun of it) becomes Delirious (sp?)

Days of Thunder to become Thunder Raceway (wish it would become extinct honestly but that's probably the name it will be)

I know some of these have been said before so I'm not trying to steal anyone's thunder just putting it in list form here for fun I have no real idea what the names will become. As far as other parks I could see Borg Assimulator becoming simply Assimulator and Tomb Raider Firefall to simply Firefall etc....

Doesn't Cedar Fair have a thing with Star Trek, I doubt the name Borg Assinulator is going anywhere.

Yep. They own and operate Star Trek: The Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton. While Cedar Fair owns the rides and equipment, they do not own the space in which all the rides operate (that belongs to the Hilton). We may very well see Borg Assimilator`s name changed and the only Paramount branded attractions` names that remain may well be Star Trek: The Experience.
