JacksonPKI Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 ^Ahhhhhh, O.K. I wasn't here in '72, so what do I know? Quote
Gordon Bombay Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Cory wasn't here in 72, and he learned that. Quote

Gordon Bombay Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Well someone's gotta babysit the 13 year olds when their parents aren't watching what they do on the net Quote
Cory Butcher Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 ^ You sound just like my parents. Jackson, like this post I am currently writing, what does that have anything to do with this forum? Quote
JacksonPKI Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 ^I am not sure. I was replying to Gordon's Post. Quote
Outdoor Man Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 So CF needs to get rid of any reference to the Paramount Movie days.... What's up with this? Check the name of the park... http://www2.cedarfair.com/kingsisland/attr...l.cfm?ai_id=158 wouldn't this seem like a pretty simple fix.... 2 years ago? Quote
Outdoor Man Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 and I notice that Face/Off... er... Invertigo is located in "Action Zone" - which has a "TM" by the name... does that mean that this area is subject to a name change as well? Also, the PKI... I mean KI web "favicon" is still the Paramount mountain. Quote
DiSab Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Yeah, I noticed that earlier today, and I thought that would have been taken care of by now. Quote
Outdoor Man Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 yea, I'm thinking like closing weekend 2006. Quote
Jasper Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Ok Tomb Raider was the most heavily themed ride in Kings Island history or something like that. Am I right? So how are you just going to get up and go change a ride that took 20 Million Dollars to construct. To Me it is going to look very weird without the little pre-show showing the story of Lara Croft. "Famous Last Words" Quote
DiSab Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 My guess is that they'll keep the general premise the same, but just remove/update/alter the existing theming so that it won't be associated with Tomb Raider. My guess is that the queue theming and most of the on-ride theming will remain. The only thing during the ride I can see being changed is the giant stone statue on the forward wall (since that might resemble the movies too much). But I do think there will be a completely new pre-show (if it even comes back at all). Quote
Tuskin Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 The only reason I can guess as to why they didnt rename congo falls is because 1. they are planning on taking it out in the years to come, or 2. well i dont know a 2 but yah thats the only reason I can come to why they wouldnt change the name.. I mean KI web "favicon" is still the Paramount mountain. Cedar Fair acquired the trademarks owned by Paramount Parks when it acquired the parks. Only those things that were licensed from others could not be included, and must be negotiated as licenses expire. The Action Zone trademark, not unlike The Beast, is doubtless now a Cedar Fair property. Quote

Reclaimer Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 That sign actually said "Paramount Action Zone" which is more than likely why it was removed, and so quickly. It couldn't have taken much time at all to rip that sign out, which is probably why it was one of the first things to go. http://www.KICentral.com/photos/displayimage.php?pos=-1083 Quote
KIBeast Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 KICentral still needs to update the new names at the bottom it still says the old ones and in the photo gallery you need to change the names It was just made official in the last few days. Give these guys a break. Quote
Gordon Bombay Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 haha thanks KIBeast. We're all pretty busy this of fseason, I'm sure everything will be taken care off shortly. -Gordon Bombay, who, on 3 hours of sleep, is waiting for a philosophy test to begin, then will fix names in the photo gallery. flightoffear1996 Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Why would they take out Congo Falls. Its the only ride on that side of the park that contains water. Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Please take our poll about how you feel about some of the ride name changes. Quote
Outdoor Man Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Congo was an awful movie. I would like to do two polls. #1- who on this board knew Congo was a movie #2- who on this board even knew that Congo was more than just a country to conqueror on a "Risk" board Quote

(Although, I usually think of "Congo" in terms of the Michael Crichton novel first, and the Paramount movie second...) To add to your polling, though, I wonder how many know what a "Risk" board is! Avatar Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Risk - sure do and one of my favorite memories was sitting around playing a game with some friends watching Gulf War one; it added another dimension to the game. Oh the good old days. Quote
