I was looking at some pics of Drop Tower and i noticed that ontop of the tower were that black and white checkered thing is theres a window, why is there a window there?

Shoo man that takes a lot of guts to go up almost 300 feet in the air and perform maintenence. I have never seen that door either hmmm ill have to look and see if it is open next time.

A ladder, I have seen inside of the Carowinds Drop Zone.

There is a two man elevator inside of the tower that can take maintenance personnel up to the machine room at the top of the tower. You can see the entrance to this elevator when the ring of seats is lifted up. The hatch doorway faces the main queue building.

Eh, its not too bad. But it isn't the sharpest picture that the man who took that photo has ever taken! Some of the edges look a tiny bit blurred.

Oh well, all that aside, it still isn't a bad picture from the best photographer that I know!

Since we are on the topic of drop zone I figured I would ask... Is it supposed to spin while it is on its way down? The first time I got on it last summer (yes I waited that long to get on it haha) it did not spin on its way down because of mechanical problems and I heard its supposed to?

No. It is only supposed to spin(once) on the way up. When it opened it made a full 2 rotations on the way to the top, I don't exactly remember why it changed to just one...anyone?

I certainly missed the rotation last year. Hopefully it will be fixed for this season.

Hmmm i never noticed the door i just always though that they got on top of the ring and rode it to the top and when they got up there climbed through the window.

I had no clue it spun while going up, only thing i could do is concentrate on not peeing my pants!

Come on dropzone isnt really that scary. after all its fail safe.
