The Interpreter Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Perhaps because it is so well camouflaged by its drab, deteriorating paint job and the fact that the park virtually ignores it? 1 Quote
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I heard one on Friday from a girl in front of a closed Diamondback line. "How can there be a single rider line? There are 2 seats in every row" 1 Quote
gigacoaster2k Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Yesterday in front of me, in line for Raptor: Brunette girl: "(pointing behind herself at Raptor's station) There's one over there (points at Raptor's loop) and there's one over there too." Blond friend: "I think there's three." Kid to his friend while exiting Millie: "Diamondback was way faster than that." Guy to me and Tom while we're on Power Tower: "Have fun! I hope I don't see you guys on the news!" 1 Quote
CedarPointer Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 "No, honey, it's still Nickelodeon! Snoopy is a Nickelodon character, right?" 1 Quote

PREMiERdrum Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Technically, Snoopy's a Disney character, as the specials are shown on ABC. But as for the comics, the two are not related at all. Not quite... Disney/ABC have no ownership over the Peanuts characters or specials, they simply pay the syndication contract to broadcast the shows. 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Snoopy is not a Disney character. At the moment, he is a UFS character (which is related to E. W. Scripps). A pending transaction will change that to Iconix: http://www.tradingmarkets.com/news/stock-alert/ssp_icon_ufvhf_iconix-agrees-acquisition-of-peanuts-brand-for-usd175m-944657.html 1 Quote

The Interpreter Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 But that isn't right. Technically means with even more precision. And Snoopy is NOT a Disney character by ANY stretch of the imagination. 1 Quote
coasterfan85 Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Before the ride started on Delerium, the ride operater did his little speech and at the end said "Kings Island, Where else?" Some guy said Cedar Point! 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Ha! We know that each of those parks is each the Fun & Only! 1 Quote

EssentiallyCoaster Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I was recently told that Diamondback was the tallest coaster in the Midwest by a 12 year old in the single rider line. (Get this, he was in a huge group of friends!) 1 Quote

IndyGuy4KI Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 At Holiday World on Saturday a few kids were exiting the Raven station and one said, "At Kings Island the red train goes forward and the blue train goes backwards." One of us in our group went. "Not Anymore." I don't think they heard us though... 2 Quote

(Get this, he was in a huge group of friends!) I have a Mamba shirt from WoF (bought in 2007) that says that Mamba is the tallest and fastest coaster in the midwest... Quote
coaster_junky Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 found this funny, from facebook: My brother knows one of the guys who built the Son of Beast. the guy they were all drunk when they did alot of the building. thats why they had to keep fixing it whenever it broke down. 1 Quote
Dbfan Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Today at school with people discussing KI "They have this new ride called THE Diamondback. Its like 300ft tall and goes over 100mph" 1 Quote
coaster_junky Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 i can't believe i forgot about this happening today in physics. my teacher was starting our unit on electricity when she told us the story of how a man's dog jumped into the oktoberfest pond and three people jumped in after him to catch him because everyone that was jumping in was "drowning," come to find out it was them all actually being electrocuted. 1 Quote
CincyMan98 Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 That's the perfect thing to talk about in physics............. Quote
Oldiesmann Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Question asked for today's 5@5: why is the Adventurer express still have the paramount music part to it? http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=395513181948 4th comment Quote
Oldiesmann Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Random guest on the carousel: (As the ride started) "Giddyup, Seabiscuit!" (As the ride ended) "Whoa, Seabiscuit, whoa!" Also, a guest on Diamondback told his friend that they changed Racer back to having both sides running forward so "they can just run one side when they're not busy", and that "Cedar Fair always blames others for things they change". 1 Quote
CoastersRZ Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Speaking of The Racer, has the Red Racer opened yet this year? I`d venture to say if it hasn`t been open yet, it will be for the busy holiday weekend. 1 Quote
KIfan1980 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Red Racer was open today and the ride ops were doing their best to send out races. The big difference from last year is that the trim on the Red turnaround grabbed for a long time leading to a Blue wins. 1 Quote
brick52 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 My Dad's friend's son, keep following me here, worked at Kings Island, a very long time ago and he swept. One day a young child saw a blue ice cream on the midway and the child asked "Hey what's that" and he said it was a melted smurf. Needless to say the child ran off crying and he got fired. Kinda off topic but yeah.... 1 Quote
CoastersRZ Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Well, I`ve heard something similar said by a ride op at Coney before. (And no it wasn`t me). A guest asked why we do not load anybody in the back row of the Python (a question that is asked once about every three minutes at the Python). Well, this one particular ride op responded "That`s where the ghosts ride." Speaking of the Python, it got some new, colorful flags mounted on it this year. The Twister also got some similar flags mounted to it this year. They looks pretty nice! 1 Quote
