The Interpreter
From an email sent to local Carowinds media: New Species Discovered in Vietnam GENEVA, Aug. 26 (XINHUA) -- Scientists have discovered 11 new species of animals and plants in a remote area in Central Vietnam, conservation group World Species Fund (WSF) said on Wednesday. "We are concerned some of these species have mutated." The species were found in the Thua Thien Hue Province - a region known as the Green Corridor. They include two butterflies and a snake, lizards and an unknown creature that is believed to have primitive reptile features. Five orchids and three other plants were also found, all of which are exclusive to tropical forests in Vietnam's Annamites Mountain Range, said the Swiss-based organization in a press release. "There something strange going on here," We need to be pro-active in making sure the type species do not spread to other areas of the world such as the United States" According to the WSF, all these species are at risk from illegal logging, hunting, unsustainable extraction of natural resources and conflicting development interests. However, the Thua Thien Hue Province authorities - in particular the Forest Protection Department - have committed themselves to conserving and sustainably managing these valuable forests. gigacoaster2k
Swiss Based organization? B&M??? Or Intamin? Hmm. Quite a strange teaser. Certainly has a question mark above my head. I went to the Carowinds website and there is a very brief flash teaser on the homepage that says "SOME WORSHIP THESE.. OTHERS FEAR THEM.. find out on 9.10.08" with an image of a wooden box slightly open.
TH13TEEN
I think its a Vekoma Boomerang.
KingCobra
I was out at Carowinds a couple weekends ago, and out by Thunder Road, their racing wooden coaster, are all the pieces and parts to head-spin, i believe that was its name, the arrow boomerang that was at Geauga Lake. The might be pulling a nice ride teaser in the PR department, but the track ect is wide open sitting in the unused parts of their parking lot
gigacoaster2k
I think its a Vekoma Boomerang. You are right. I just found the website confirming the coaster's relocation. http://www.rcdb.com/id4269.htm

PKIDelirium
^^ POV! It's apparently going to be Carolina Cobra from what I've heard. Pretty lame name if you ask me, and they sure are making a fuss over a 10+ year old Boomerang.

Jonathan
I feel bad for the people who have Carowinds as their home park, I heard headspin was terribly rough.

Beast1979
^Supposedly in the previous location of Flying Super Saturator.
RollerNut
Carolina Cobra is the popular rumor. We know it is a reptile, that it is worshiped, and it is feared. Legend says that it strikes twice. Based on the teasers Carowinds has put out, it is a snake or dragon. Also, the crate in front of the park has Japanese words on it. Yes, it will replace Saturator. cholderfield
i rode Head Spin during the last season at Geauga Lake...it was a little rough, but it was a decent coaster....Invertigo is similar (a clone?) to Head Spin, but Invertigo doesn't feel as rough.... The Interpreter
Invertigo is inverted...thus the name. Headspin, which was a clone like Vampire at Kentucky Kingdom, was NOT. http://www.rcdb.com/ig283.htm?picture=1 Note the train on the left side.... The Interpreter
More on this: Breaking News WSF: An aircraft carrying new animal, plant species found in Vietnam may have been lost! 2008-08-27 04:55:09 Print A mysterious crate shipped overseas to an unknown Top Secret location may have accidentally been lost somewhere near Carowinds, North Carolina. Officials are concerned that it may have included a unique species recently discovered in the Vietnam jungle. Eyewitnesses say that they saw a Crate with a parachute attached falling from the sky somewhere over Carowinds, an amusement park located on the NC SC boarder. Due to the High Level of secrecy we were not able to get a spokesperson to comment on its actual existence. We will update this story as soon as we get more details. (This is not real. This is only a teaser.) As released to local media...
KingCobra
I only rode saturator once, but i have to say, i can see reasons why they would be taking it out ie. compacity was terrible and more then half of the water cannons and different things don't work. Even with that I wish they would have just get the theaming to work and keep the roller coaster cause it was a unique ride
CoastersRZ
If only the spell checker worked too, right? And, the Flying Super Saturator was not totally unique. There was another Setpoint creation built up at Hersheypark in Pennsylvania.
geaugafan2013
I wish it was coming up here to Geauga Lake but we all know they wouldn't because they just wasted all that money on tearing out all those perfect rides. I never thought it was so bad except for the loop but i usally dont complain about pains on a roller coaster to me there all just awesome!
