Assuming that Ride Warriors Coaster Weekend happens over the same weekend in 2010 as it did in 2009, would you rather have the event as a Friday-Saturday event or a Saturday-Sunday event?

I agree. Saturday Sunday, logistically at least would work better. I mean, assuming I have a full time job by then, I won`t have to use a personal day to experience both days if it is on Saturday Sunday. Also makes it easier for those in school to attend.

However, that being said, if all the events on Friday evening were relegated to the evening hours (ie night time ert), then it might be beneficial if there were say night erts on Friday and Saturday, with morning ert also on Saturday.

I vote for Saturday/Sunday. I figure that Saturday/Sunday would be better for the people that work Monday through Friday.

I missed out on RWW this year. and after all of the fun things I heard about, I will not be missing out on the next one.

Saturday/Sunday for sure. I hope they decide to do it on a weekend that doesn't include Mother's Day next year, also. That bugged me a little this year.

I'd like for it to be Friday Saturday so it's not on Mother's Day but I'll have school. So I guess Saturday and Sunday cause Sundays aren't busy. just hope it's not on Bring a Friend Day or Mother's Day like it was this year.

My vote is for Saturday Sunday because I liked the two full days, whereas Coastermania!, Holiwood Nights and many other big enthusiast events only have activities on the evening on Friday.

The biggest thing that I think should be changed was there should NOT be any other events that weekend! It was a bit insane and a bit ridiculous to have all these coaster enthusiasts having to deal with the always-heavy crowds from Music in the Parks and the Mother's Day bring-a-friend. Cedar Point doesn't have any of those things overlapping with Coastermania on Saturday (though there is a grade school event on Friday - they'll all clear out of the park by the time many of the enthusiasts are arriving that afternoon though) and that's the way it should be. A lot of enthusiasts that will travel many hours to get to Coastermania or other events are likely to skip out on RWCW if they have to fight with the huge crowds brought in by overlapping events. I noticed that a lot of the enthusiasts left and didn't come back after the tours on Saturday, and I'm betting a lot of that had to do with how crowded the park was.

I know right? I went out to my car midday on RWCW Saturday to apply more sunblock, and I saw 6 full school buses unloading in a parking lot that was a sea of cars. I was like.. are you serious..

A lot of it had to do, too, with that Sunday being Mother's Day. There is no way some of us would miss celebrating with our Mothers, many of whom do NOT want to spend it at Kings Island or any other theme or amusement park...

Terpy, who is also not amused that ACE conventions always start on Father's Day...and thinks that says much about the attitude of those who run that organization...Coasters First, Coasters First, Coasters First....sigh

Coming from out of town (well Indy) I also vote for Sat/Sun and also agree with Terpy that the sunday shouldn't be on Mother's Day and agree with Kat that the park shouldn't try and schedule any other events at the same time.

I voted Sat/Sun just because it's easier than having to take a day off from work on Friday. Although this year I took the Friday before RWCW off anyway, but I had that planned way before RWCW was ever announced.

I somewhat agree with others about not having other events on those days, but I actually didn't mind too much. I rarely visit on Saturdays anyway because of the crowds, so I knew to expect them. Sunday didn't seem too bad to me, Mother's Day seems to keep people away. But then, I left in the middle of both days so I didn't get the full experience of the crowds that many of you did. If it's Mother's Day weekend again I'll have to leave in the middle of the day again on Sunday, and hopefully won't have a repeat of what took me away on Saturday (had to leave to have the insurance co. look at the car after Mrs. Gator was involved in a wreck).

But the park could run into problems with scheduling if they try to ensure there are no other events. The music events have historically been in May, which is a great time to hold them. And the Bring a Friend for $10 is a great idea to try to boost attendance on Mother's Day. Plus they have to take into account the enthusiast events at other parks.

I don't see an issue with schedule this event for a weekend in June, like the weekend after Coastermania, if there's an issue with Music in the Parks overlap. This is when Kings Dominion is having their enthusiast event. I didn't really enjoy the middle of the day Saturday and didn't mind that a group of us left for a couple hours to do things like fool around in Wal-Mart because I can't stand it when the park is so crowded you can't walk down the midways without being shoved around or having to wiggle between people.

I actually went to the park in junior high for Music in the Parks day and I remember that I didn't ride anything but Racer because all the rides had such long waits and my group would have missed our check in times waiting for just one ride. This was in 98 so there were a lot fewer coasters and flats to choose from. Even King Cobra was running up to a 2 hour wait!

I think adding some ERT on the Friday evening as well would be nice to as Robbie stated.

I have a question.................

Do you have to be a member of a certain coaster group or website in order to participate in Ride warriors?? I would like it to be on Sat/Sun. Thanks!

Yes, you do...though this here website was one of the eligible groups, and you have belonged long enough you could have participated this year. As always, eligible groups may change from year to year, but there is every reason to believe KIC will remain on the eligible list...

Thanks dude! I can't wait to go next year. I just hope that the rules would stay the same!

I voted Saturday and Sunday. But PLEASE don't put it on mothers day weekend! I couldn't attend sundays events this year because I had to be with my very own trooper mom.

^you could always do what i did on mothers day, suprise her with a trip to Kings Island.

We live like 3 minutes away from KI. Its no surprise for her. :)
