June 27, 200917 yr I can't say as I am a NKOTB fan...but I thought he was excellent in "Band Of Brothers". (And creepy in "The Sixth Sense".)
June 27, 200917 yr Awww...too bad we were not there this weekend. I was a huge fan of NKOTB back in the day ..and Donnie was my fave
June 28, 200917 yr I agree, he was excellent in Band of Brothers. Here are more pictures from his twitter page:
June 28, 200917 yr OK so I looked up New Kids on the Block........I will stick to enjoying his movie career. (Monroe, happy to have missed that band and a couple of others that popped up in his search.)
June 28, 200917 yr Hey, at least some of us old fossils didn't have to look them up...and knew that these days they are hardly the new kids on the block, so to speak...
June 28, 200917 yr Yes, but only very early on: ...Mark himself had been an original member of the band but had backed out early on - uncomfortable with the squeaky clean image of the group. A precursor to the boy-band craze, New Kids on the Block were dominating the charts and were on top of their game. Donnie decided to help his little brother out and tried to get him on the straight and narrow. He pulled some strings and got Mark set up with a recording contract. Despite a lack of singing ability, promoters took to his dance moves and a physique they knew teenage girls would love. Donnie scripted some easy songs for Mark, who collected a troupe of dancers and a DJ to become his "Funky Bunch" and "Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch" was born. His debut album, "Music for the People", was a smash hit, which was propelled along by the rapper's willingness to disrobe down to boxer-briefs on stage, not to mention several catchy tunes... http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000242/bio This is a very good resource for all things show business.
June 29, 200917 yr This would be a cool event...like 15 years ago. Except, I thought they stunk and it wouldn't have mattered to me then. Mark Wahlberg is the superior actor between the two.
June 29, 200917 yr I'm happy we had a celeb ride our DB! I'm sad I now got "The Right Stuff" stuck in my head! "Oh oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh, dumb song!"
June 29, 200917 yr After looking at those photos I think he could have been standing right next to me and I wouldn't have realized who it was!
June 29, 200917 yr I probably shouldn't admit to this, but I saw NKOTB in concert twice at Timberwolf. The first time they opened for Tiffany. The next year, Tiffany opened for them (and she came out to boo's from the mainly pre-pubescent female crowd). Someone had to take my younger sister to the concert, you know... Of course, being a young male at the time, I may have had a thing for Tiffany (and Debbie Gibson too) so I didn't mind too much.
April 24, 201511 yr They will be back in town in less than two months but more than likely, it means nothing.
April 24, 201511 yr Six years after the DB photo? Maybe an event worth such a power-bump? Should we dust off the old British Knights kicks?
April 24, 201511 yr They play Chicago on Sunday, May 24th. Cincinnati on Tuesday, May 26th. Which leaves Memorial Day as an open day on their calendar. Hmmm.
April 24, 201511 yr Ok seeing as this thread got a 6 year bump, I have to give Ryan some flack for calling New Kids on The Block a "Band". Granted I was only in fourth grade when they were popular, but I don't remember seeing them pick up an instruments. I also remember hearing that when they came to Indy, they were lip syncing and their music and vocals started to skip.
April 24, 201511 yr I liked them OK until I heard them perform on Oprah at the dawn of their popularity. They weren't lip-syncing (although they should have). I couldn't believe that was what they really sounded like, and it did a good of keeping the tween me from getting swept into that marketing frenzy. That, and the girls I didn't like were way too into them...
April 25, 201511 yr What the buggers is this thread...? Heard he was 'hanging tough' throughout the ride though.
April 25, 201511 yr Great in band of brothers like was said though. One of my favorite shows ever. HBO is great with those things. Loved his compassionate character.
April 25, 201511 yr My Wife was a big fan of NKOTB when she was younger. She saw them in concert the Summer of 2013. Lets just say it was an interesting night when she returned from that Concert. Really wish they would tour near us soon.

April 25, 201511 yr This is turning into a late night thread... Oh yeah man... Just like the commercials on comedy central.
April 25, 201511 yr I think this song by another band sums it up quite well: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oIwWqYSbzGA
April 25, 201511 yr Interpreter, are you hinting at the demise of Timberwolf? I think you've talked about it before fairly recently. Spirit Song is really all it has left.
