August 30, 200916 yr According to Kings Island's Official Twitter, the Class of 2009 inductees into the Kings Island Walk of Fame will be announced in the next few days. The induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, Sept 5th. Who do you guys think will be inducted this year? I'm pulling for Bill Mefford.
August 30, 200916 yr In an ideal world, Dave Focke. But that would never happen. Knowing KI, Jeff Seibert. Sigh.
August 30, 200916 yr It is the thing in Tower Gardens. I know no Paramount Story. . . Do you? The preceding message was brought to you in the interest of maintaining good relations with the current owner of Kings Island. . .
August 30, 200916 yr If they're gonna keep adding to the "Walk of Fame", you'd expect they'd at least get the water features working in that area again... and who's idea was it to have the star's name facing away from the stone? If you can't make-out the name, you have to walk around to see the back of the stone's holder... Just saying...
August 30, 200916 yr And then they close the entire area during/in preparation for Haunt. Not exactly a way to venerate inductees....
August 30, 200916 yr I personally think they should induct at least five or six people... three stones isn't much to look at.
August 30, 200916 yr And then they close the entire area during/in preparation for Haunt. Not exactly a way to venerate inductees.... yup i was there friday and they already had it closed and putting up the dark cloth and burlap.
August 30, 200916 yr My pick would be Gary Wachs founder of Kings Island and Charlie Mechem the man who took the risk at Taft Broadcasting to put up the money to build the park. Nate Byrum

August 31, 200916 yr Author And some say kids don't who Snoopy and the Peanuts are.... I bet most of the younguns here have NO idea who Fess Parker was, nor do they care. I figured it out by virtue of the context clues in your post, but I didn't know... and I wouldn't admit to being a youngun...
August 31, 200916 yr I bet most of the younguns here have NO idea who Fess Parker was, nor do they care. You just have to relate it to someone/something they do know...in Fess' case, you could say "He's the old guy who own's the winery down the road from Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch. (By the way Fess still IS, not was.)
August 31, 200916 yr And some say kids don't who Snoopy and the Peanuts are.... I bet most of the younguns here have NO idea who Fess Parker was, nor do they care. LOL if it makes you feel any better.. i don't any of the ppl named in here yet >.<

(By the way Fess still IS, not was.) True that, but in the minds of most of the American public, he is most definitely a has been if not a "Who?" As for those younguns reading this and snickering, in about 30 years, maybe less, your kids, grandkids or just other people's kids and grandkids will be asking "Michael Jackson? Who was that?"
August 31, 200916 yr from KI's twitter: KingsIslandPR: Gary Wachs (park's first general manager) and 700 WLW's Rich Walburg will be inducted into the Kings Island Walk of Fame on Saturday.
August 31, 200916 yr In an ideal world, Dave Focke. But that would never happen. Knowing KI, Jeff Seibert. Sigh. I agree with you on Dave Focke. I would also like to see Don Miller inducted.
August 31, 200916 yr And some say kids don't who Snoopy and the Peanuts are.... I bet most of the younguns here have NO idea who Fess Parker was, nor do they care. What? Kids don't know who Fess Parker was? He played Davy Crocket and yes, I did have a coon skin hat!!!

August 31, 200916 yr Why don't they put the stones in the pathway where they already have squares from when it was Paramount Story? Oh, and don't worry Rachel, I didn't know hardly any of the people listed either! lol
