BoddaH1994 Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Kings Island is now open for weekends every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through May 21, when daily operation begins. Visit Kings Island this weekend and find out why everyone is raving about the all-new Planet Snoopy and Boo Blasters on Boo Hill. Challenge Diamondback – the tallest, fastest and meanest coaster at Kings Island! Or enjoy long-time favorites like The Beast, Vortex, Racer, Delirium and Drop Tower. Visit Kings Island this Friday night (April 23) when the park is open from 5:00pm until 10:00pm and enjoy all your favorite rides with minimal wait time (the line for Diamondback was less than 10 minutes the first Friday night of season last year and was virtually a walk-on at many of the other rides throughout the park). source: Kings Island Newsletter Quote
Oldiesmann Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 If the forecasts for this weekend hold true, there won't be much of a wait for any ride except Boo Blasters and Flight of Fear... Quote
Cody Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 If the forecasts for this weekend hold true, there won't be much of a wait for any ride except Boo Blasters and Flight of Fear... *hopes Cedar Fair won't be as strict on just "raining" operations as it was last year* Quote
rotag Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Don't forget crypt & SB3D, & the gift shops, & down home country. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Down Home Country hasn`t started yet. I think you meant Way Too Much TV. Quote
kiruler102 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Thats my plan. If it rains tomorrow. I am still going and i am going to watch the shows and ride BBoBH and any coaster i can get on. Quote

BoddaH1994 Posted April 23, 2010 Author Posted April 23, 2010 Looking at the show schedule online, there aren't any show times listed for Fridays, so I'm guessing that they'll be Saturday and Sunday only until daily operations. Quote
Plankton Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I'm sure this article by the weather channel does not help the cause, especially if read wrong: http://www.weather.com/newscenter/stormwatch/ Tonight isn't too bad with 40% chance of showers (as opposed to rain) during most of the park's operation. I try to think positive; a weather report similar to this (but colder) gave me a great advantage at CP last October. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Does anyone live near the park that could post weather updates. In raining here but I looked on the Mason radar and I didnt see any rain. Quote
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Does not look like it is raining on the webcams Quote
pkiboy Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Nope and all 3 trains are on the track. Hope to se some KIcers tonight. Ride on. Quote
CoasterFreak45 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I'm going no matter what! I don't mind a little rain. Quote
markr Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Just getting ready to go now. Hope however it doesn't rain hard as even a little drizzle stings your face like crazy on a coaster. Quote
kiruler102 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 My link(weather Channel) NEW weather update: Looks good to me Quote
LimeRockstars Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Checked the webcam earlier.. it looked like there was a good amount of water on a couple roofs. I was supposed to get my first visit this weekend.. looks like i'll be staying in indianapolis. =[ PS. Checked the webcam again just now.. you can actually see the rain falling now. Sad day. Quote
Oldiesmann Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 The best source for current weather conditions at KI is The Weather Underground. Sinclair Community College has a Personal Weather Station set up at their Courseview Campus which isn't far from KI (go north on KI Drive, turn left on Kings Mills and then left on Courseview). http://www.wunderground.com/US/OH/Mason.html Quote
specialk141 Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 anyone know why there is no water in the splashdown? i didnt read anything about it missing last week? am i mistaken? Quote
DaveStroem Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 What a great night at the park. Only sprinkled a couple of times but enough that it kept the hoards away. Diamondback was at worst a 2 train wait and often walk on. The only negative to the night was that I lost my phone on Firehawk. It was in a buttoned pocket. I still can't figure how it escaped. Quote
BavarianBeatle Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 I enjoyed tonight at the park with my sons. It was really, really wonderful! Can't wait for weeknights in the summer when we can wear shorts and sandals! Quote
windshawne Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 I made a quick trip into the park, only planning to stay an hour or so, and ended up staying til close. One of the best nights I've had in a looonngg time-thanks guys!! Quote
bozz Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Yes it was a great night. No crowds.......most everything was a walk-on. We too were only going for a couple of hrs. , but after seeing no lines we stayed till closing. Quote
alluna Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 We went and it was fantastic! No waits for many rides, especially after 8. Best reason for getting a season pass is those days when you just take off for a few hours to hit the park! Quote
Tchu Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Friday night was excellent. I think it sprinkled twice for about 3-5 minutes each time. Walked on to everything except 1st row Diamondback and The Beast at the end of the night. Even then, each was about a five minute wait. This is the second consecutive year my wife and I have gone to the park on the first Friday of the operating season, and both times, we've had a great time with minimal waits. Saw a lot of KICers around the park. Hope everyone enjoyed the evening. Quote
