The Interpreter Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I seem to remember saying I will be doing this, regardless of price. And I will. Thanks! Quote
Beast1979 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Wow. Way to go!! I unfortunately missed the Train Tour because of the rain, but this just rocks. Multiple tours offered? Thanks a million, a great idea! Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Be careful. If the pricing is: Normal People: $14.95 Terpies: $1,000,000.00 Watch the Terpy try to pretend to be a normal person! Terpy, who wonders if Don could be fooled! Quote

Terpy, who wonders if Don could be fooled! $15.00 is not a bad price. I wonder how many GP people would attend one of these walk backs? Quote

Terpy, who wonders if Don could be fooled! I assume that would be quite a large amount of nickels for someone to carry into the park. Quote

Just to clarify: $14.95 is an arbitrary price that Interpreter made up. The official price hasn't been announced yet. Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 And even in my arbitrary price I made up, that would be in addition to admission to the park...and still quite the value... Even $19.99 with a discount for gold passes would be an incredible deal. A million bucks for Terpies, though...is too much...even for Terpies. Maybe especially for Terpies! Quote

Thanks for clearing that up though, for I thought he found it on the website and posted it. Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Nope...I am only speculating. When the real price is announced, I am sure BoddaH or one of our crack posters here will rush to post it. Or someone could ask the price on the 5@5! Quote
CoastersRZ Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Remember, that the park has not commented on what price they will be charging for the train tours. As always, dates, times, programs and prices are subject to change. Always refer to www.VisitKingsIsland.comfor the most up to date information in terms of programs and pricing. Quote

standbyme Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 I couldn't make the original train tour because the date was not handy...I don't think I have to worry about that now! (I look forward to doing this very much.) Quote
Oldiesmann Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Glad to hear they'll be doing this again. I also skipped the KIC train tour due to the weather. I will definitely be taking advantage of this, unless the cost ends up being ridiculously high (which I doubt it will be). Quote
Tom76257 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Normal People: $14.95 So would the price go up or down for those of us who have never claimed to be normal, Terpy? I missed the first train tour because I went to Holiday World's Opening Day. Considering that I LOVE amusement park railroads, I will have to attend one of these tours. Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 $25 for adults, $12.50 for juniors: ...The 45-minute tour begins with a unique opportunity to enter Kings Island before the park opens to the public on the following Saturdays: May 22, 29; June 5, 12, 19, 26; July 3, 10, 17, 24. You’ll learn about the history of the Great Locomotive Chase as you ride the rails to the backstage house where the trains are stored and serviced to keep them in mint working condition. Have your camera ready to take photos and video of the Steam Train Tour. All Steam Train Tour guests will receive a complimentary 4” x 6” photo taken by the train in the station area of the ride. Kings Island park admission or a season pass is required and is not included in the price of the Steam Train Tour. Tickets are $25.00 for adults and $12.50 for juniors under 48 inches and can be purchased at the admissions windows between 8:30am and 9:00am the morning of the scheduled tours. http://www.wdtn.com/...-island-railway Quote
diamondback Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 I just found this... It is behind the scenes with WDTN Dayton Channel 2 News. PJ Quote
muppetfan1999 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 I didn't go on the tour because I never knew about it, unfortunately. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Too bad I skipped out on the KIC tour a few weeks ago because of the rain. I may be enticed, even with the $25 fee, to take one of these tours. Quote
Tom76257 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 $25 is a bit steep, but I think it'll be worth it. I've always been interested in the backstage aspect of things. Quote
XGatorHead 8904 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 All Steam Train Tour guests will receive a complimentary 4” x 6” photo taken by the train in the station area of the ride. Wait... the train takes photos?!?!? That's one talented locomotive! Quote
standbyme Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 ^Funniest line i've read here in quite awhile! (I get a vision of the train scene from the Leslie Nielson "Wrongfully Accused" movie...the one where the train that is hiding pops his head from out of a bush.) Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted May 14, 2010 Author Posted May 14, 2010 Train tour info is now available on the park's official web site. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/admission/train_tour/index.cfm Quote
