Vortex lover
Some of these Instagram accounts are just....... The Interpreter
...the break run.... It breaks there, I presume? Terp, who wasn't aware it was an INTAMIN.
FoF96"
Vekoma's break themselves as well. Roller skater always messes up when the load changes from light to heavy and goes too far into the station causing a fault.
Vortex lover
Does the guide wheels on T3 have a effect on the track due to them hunting for the track because of the gap? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using Tapatalk
FoF96"
I have no idea. I only worked in 2014 and T3 was still T2 and SBNO
Oldiesmann
Kentucky Kingdom has challenged Donald Trump to ride Storm Chaser. Apparently he's going to be at the Kentucky Expo Center on the 20th for an NRA convention. http://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/local/2016/05/18/ky-kingdom-invites-trump-ride-new-coaster/84547686/

jcgoble3
Believe it or not, Trump does not wear a toupee. The hair on his head is his actual, natural hair, just with a weird style.

Kenban
And color. Which changes constantly. I truly doubt THAT's HIS hair. Â I remember seeing an interview with a hair transplant specialist. Â Turns out it is his hair just not originally from his head.

jcgoble3
I hope Trump knows what hes getting into if he goes to the park, the clientele and neighborhood around are not exactly the safest, and SS would have a security nightmare on their hands... or at the very least tedious. Â I'm sure the Secret Service is already aware of the neighborhood and is planning for it, given that he's already scheduled to speak at a convention across the parking lot from Kentucky Kingdom that day. Not to mention that said convention is for the NRA, and thus will be host to probably thousands of lawfully armed citizens, of whom I'd guess the vast majority are Republican (or at least conservative). Â Thus, my fear would be for the safety of any idiot that attempts something stupid.
FoF96"
Honestly he is probably safer at Kentucky Kingdom than he would be walking down Wabash avenue. A place that he DEFINITELY has been and will continue to be in the future.
The Interpreter
Given who controls the Kentucky governorship, legislature, appointments to the Fair Board, the land upon which the park sits, and much of the park's fate, this move is quite brilliant. And all the free publicity to boot. Should Mr. Trump actually do this, the publicity for the park....
homestar92
And Mr. Trump is a resident of New York. Which means if he showed up, he'd be an out-of-state visitor, which the Hartland loves* Â *some exclusions apply (Interpret that as you will)
Joncars05
^KK is pushing hard for the out of state visitors. They have 2-3 different commercials that they are running for the Indianapolis area. One features the smaller rides, one features Storm Chaser with Purdue engineering students raving about the ride, and the other is touting the overall resurgence of the park. All feature the $29.95 two day, free drinks, out of state deal. But they are hitting the area hard. They have placed the commercials on all of the farmer give channels and run them in the mornings possibly targeting stay at home moms. I know it has worked for at least one person because our babysitter, who knows we are coaster nuts, asked us if KK would be a good place to go for her and her children. I said from the looks of it it is. You just can't beat that price. It's so low that even if you didn't have a good experience in the park you can just go home and not feel taken advantage of. But if you like it (the deal is unlimited, so you can use it multiple times in a year) you can spend 2 days in the park with free drinks and only pay $30!
BeeastFarmer
One of my co-workers asked my opinion: For her four year old--KK or Cedar Point. I said KK, but I have no knowledge of CP. But I couldn't imagine driving a four year old14 hours both ways, for a few kiddie rides.
Kenban
I decided to pickup an annual pass at most I will likely only visit twice but with the free parking it makes the most sense to me. Â I went once last year and the only reason I am even planning on visiting this year is Storm Chaser. Â RMC has been doing some fantastic work and Storm Chaser looks good from what I have seen so far.
Existential
Heading through the area en route to Nashville the second week in June and may stop at KK. If I stop on a Saturday or Sunday is that a clownstick move? How long are waits? I am considering a return trip stop on the following Friday if that means not face palming all day. Does it really matter? Got the partner in tow who doesn't like to wait for our beloved coasters. Just trying to ride an RMC a few times without her hanging her head in disgust. Thanks.

JTR
Last year, it was hit and miss on weekends. Lines were never ridiculous on the days I visited, though. I don't know what impact Storm Chaser will have, but the pre-season weekend crowds have been pretty manageable.
BeeastFarmer
I plan on going to KK on Monday5/30 for the first time this season. I know it's a holiday weekend, but any idea what to expect crowd wise?

Existential
Going on the Sunday. Hope I don't get clownstick'd. Looking forward to it. What's the go to move there? Most importantly...where are all the basketball games? I want like three basketballs the first hour. Need to hold up the coasters by stowing my basketballs all day.

MDMC01
So... did Mr. Trump ever take Kentucky Kingdom up on their offer? Â In other news, I hope to be travelling down to the Kingdom very, very soon! Â
