Roller Coaster's

The Beast, because I've ridden it more times than Don Helbig has ridden..... uh, ...the Space Shuttle :P

Seriously, it's more fun for me now because there is always that 'first-time' coaster rider who freaks out at the top of the lift hill. Never gets old.

I still freak out at the top of the hill. It's a steep drop into a tunnel that, from the top of the hill, I can cover with my thumbnail. I'm always anxious during the lift part of the coaster- it's like being in the dentist's chair, but the ride makes it worth it.

i have 3

mindbender @ sfog

  • its a Schwarzkopf
  • & its fun for me

lost coaster of superstition mountain @ indiana beach

  • this ride used to be a dark ride
  • the cars let you ride forwards or backwards
  • theres NO seat dividers
  • there are a bunch of small airtime bumps
  • & it makes a lot of tight turns that are fast but not too fast

the raven @ holiday world

  • there is a swoop by a lake
  • there is a hidden cliff feature
  • it goes through the woods
  • has a tunnel
  • @ top of the hill, i can see the parking lot & jokingly go "I CAN SEE MY CAR FROM HERE!!!"
  • has a decent amount of airtime
  • there arent any trims
  • the station architecturally looks good

its hard to separate steel from wood, & the classification of coasters that double as a dark ride are in a category all there own. @ least in my book, also i dont need to go 70+mph around a parking lot to have fun. im all for the scenery & unique experiance that you can only get more than once ina blue moon by living close to said attraction. just glad to know there are others that enjoy my taste in amusement.

also, didnt see the part about Kings Island...

^ I have to agree with you on that Backlot Stunt Coaster isn't a bad ride as i really enjoy the effects and dodging the police cars, plus it was my first launch coaster. Also i've had a coaster obsession with that ride before...

My List :

1. Son of Beast (if only it was open..)

2. Flight of Fear

3. Diamondback

4. Beast

5. Backlot Stunt Coaster

Since it's past or present. my favorite is The Beast in it's original form. I cherish the memory of being 9 years old and waiting in line by the lake waiting to ride the biggest roller coaster in the world. It w as something that was just really special to a kid that age at that time. Especially after my sister and I had saved up trading stamps for those KI tickets.

The Beast. To me this is the most sentimental roller coaster ever. Truly unique and built by our very own Kings Island (KECO) with no duplicates built anywhere else. Also, this was first major coaster I've ridden when I was only 6 years old. And of course this longest wooden rollercoaster doesn't get all of it's fame from "sentimental value". It's the fun bumpy ride through the woods topped of with a sick double helix finale that produces the other half of the "buzz".

rotag:

Two things: The topic is your favorite ONE coaster at Kings Island.

You are starting to scare me. I think we may have the same taste in coasters.

Terp, who thinks Raven is a legend of a coaster, well worth the voyage.

Rolling Thunder's Station music scares me i feel like im at Maple Grove .
