Finally framed - my vintage KI souvenir map

I thought I would share a recent addition my wife purchased for me for my birthday. I've had this old KI map in storage for 8 years (it was a college graduation gift from a former Kings Island employee). My wife and I are moving to a new place and she suggested that we have some of my collectible items framed. Luckily, this is a stock frame that was the perfect size for this 1982 map. It measures 40x27. I realized, when attempting to locate a ready use sized frame, that the older maps (early 70's) have more of a cubed dimension (26x27) and would require a custom made frame. I've taken a few additional up close pics of now defuct rides and attractions. I hope you enjoy! ;)

Amazing! I have the exact same one, thought I was the only one who still had one. Looks great framed, I've been meaning to do that to mine forever. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get it framed? I have a Magic Kingdom one from the same year, and like you noted, they are NOT standard sizes today...

Forty years from now, will enthusiasts have 2012 maps framed? Will there BE 2052 maps? Will there be print anything? Many here will live to see. Others of us won't. And if there ARE maps, will an Eiffel Tower be on them? Beast? Racer? WindSeeker? Will a decision have been made about Son of Beast? What, if anything, will park in the parking lot? What will that cost? Will there be an Internet? A KIC?

Any chance we could see a high-res scan?

I don't have any plans to scan this particular map on account of the size and cost, but I have considered scanning some of my KI concept artwork.

I was actually able to use a stock frame retailed at Michaels (they are on sale right now!). The poster frame measures 40x27 and it worked out perfectly for the 37x26 map. My 73 map will call for actual custom framing like the beauty KIFan73 posted :)

I think that if 2012 maps were available of similar quality of the 1972 map, they would be framed…maybe in 2012!

Will a decision have been made about Son of Beast??

Don't get crazy now, those kinds of decisions take time.

The 'What's Next for Son of Beast' thread, however, will be about 500,000 pages long, with arguments about how someone saw a piece of wood fall off while they were riding Son of Adventure Express: Phantom Theaters Revenge the Ride.

Would love to see those - thanks!

I should probably showcase this in a different thread, but here are two concept pieces that are part of a larger set that I've thought about scanning:

Paint option detail concepts
