CedarPointer Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 http://www.visitkingsisland.com/rides/Soak-City-Water-Park/Soak-City-Volleyball-League Well, this is interesting! Quote
CoasterGeek101 Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 I thought when they said they were installing volleyball courts they meant that anyone could play for FREE not pay some pathetic fee. Quote
CedarPointer Posted May 19, 2012 Author Posted May 19, 2012 I assume you can, when they're not in use by the volleyball league, which is only on weekends. Quote
westcoaster Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Wow, how will they track those that are there for the league, are the sand areas outside the gates. Also it seems a bit unfair if you wanted to come on a weekend and wanted to used the volleyball. I so see this place becoming a 2nd gate next year. Quote
CedarPointer Posted May 19, 2012 Author Posted May 19, 2012 I never really did like volleyball... Is there ANYTHING you like about Soak City? I suspect that the fee is there so people don't sign up then never show up... 1 Quote
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Wow why should KI even attempt to get some of their money back on their investment? All people do is complain about the small stuff. Quote
KIfan1980 Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Most leagues where there is a field/court to maintain, a person to referee/officiate, and prizes/end of season event charge money - not sure why KI would be any different. Quote
Diamondback96 Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Wow why should KI even attempt to get some of their money back on their investment? All people do is complain about the small stuff. Yeah, they should make KI and everything in it free. 1 Quote

Oldiesmann Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 I sincerely doubt we'll see all the volleyball courts occupied at all times every weekend from June 16th to August 19th. There are literally dozens (if not hundreds) of sand volleyball courts in the Cincinnati area, so there are plenty of options available for those interested in the sport who want to play in a league. I imagine the park is trying to keep things flexible for those who are interested, Quote

The Interpreter Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 I suspect he'd say the slides are all going downhill. 3 Quote

jdawg1998 Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 The insides yes out, no BB1 who sorra is andwas at SC I will try and translate this best I can: The slides yes out, BB1 who is sorry and was at Soak City? Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 This is a really great idea. I joined a basketball league at the sports mall and its $500 entry fee + $25 per ref fee. I think the price is very reasonable and I was into volleyball I would think about joining. Quote
Titan Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I think it's a really good idea! I would join, but I'd probably end up missing half of the games..... Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 The price is actually really inexpensive. I've played in an indoor soccer league and it was around $90 per person plus $10 in ref fees. Quote
Oldiesmann Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 It appears that most sand volleyball leagues in the area cost around $50 per person, so I'm guessing that's why they priced it at $45 per person. Quote
