Helicopter & planes circling KI?

Featured Replies

When I was at the park on the 15 & 16 of June, I kept seeing a helicopter & an airplane circling Kings Island, & they weren't together. I was curious of what they are, are they tours?

I saw those too. I saw what I think was the same plane 2 seperate weeks on weekdays with a Geico ad flying behind it. I find that weird that they were A. Doing it on a weekday. and B. Flying a faded Geico ad?

I have also seen the helicopter before. I dunno what that means.

It's possible that they were sight-seeing tours, as both Blue Ash Airport and the Lebanon/Warren County Regional airport are fairly close to KI.

The Geico plane is a common sight around here. I see it flying around downtown Cincinnati all the time when the Reds are in town.

Why am I always out of likes when it gets to your best posts?!

It seems that show always twists everything into "ZOMGSH IZ DA ALEEUNZ"... Like on a commerical, I saw that they took Leo Da Vinci's painings and made a reflection of it down the center, saying "Maybe Leonardo found something and he wants to inconspicuously speak to us through his paintings!"

EDIT:

One word:

Well, that does make sense, seeing as how we have an alien-themed ride...

The geico plane cruises the interstates(71,275,and75) I live near 275 in Springdale and it flies by there regularly.

The Geico plane is always in the air when the Reds have a home game and swings up by KI sometimes.

Helicopter tours are offered by Stratus helicopters, they have two locations:

1) Newport

2) Lunken Airport

KI is one of the sights on one of their more pricey tours.

As for other planes, it's pretty common to fly over KI and see it. From the air, it's a really unique perspective. My friend John flies me over the park occasionally:

Love that pic Gordon - kind of interesting to see the park from that view. Also like seeing DB in mid splashdown. I'm guessing this was taken when WindSeeker was still being repaired? Since it is at the top but obviously not cycling (seats hanging vertical, not extended).

awesome picture. Didn't KI used to have an inhouse helicopter tour? How much was that tour? Something I'd love to do one day, if the price is right.

Perhaps it is just me, but I find it incredibly ironic that a plane with an advertisment for auto insurance is flying above highways of fast moving vehicles with the sole intent of taking the driver's eyes off the road.

It was an outside vendor. Who apparently didn't make enough to return. Varying tours were offered, with pricing varying by number of passengers and tour length. I believe the tours started at approximately $25 a person.
