coasterfanatic83
I love the little compass directional thing on top of the building. I imagine that was fun while up on the Eiffel Tower
sam2cpa
I recall in the mid 70's at the stage just to the left of the Scooby Doo coaster there was a magic act. The magician would do a trick with rope where he would tie a knot in the rope, then slide the knot off the rope. He would take the knot and toss it into the audience. My family kept going back to the show untill he finally tossed me the knot. That was also when there was a magic shop and kite store on International Street....

Thrill_Biscuit
I love the little compass directional thing on top of the building. I imagine that was fun while up on the Eiffel Tower As a kid, I really thought that it was neat. (I also, for a little bit, believed that the HB cartoons somehow really came from that building (they used to play the theme songs from the Jetsons, Flintstones, Scooby Doo, etc. over loudspeakers attached to the exterior of the building.) I asked my mom if it was true, and she said "No, honey, they're made way out in California." Still loved the illusion, though! )

CoastersRZ
You unfortunately do not see elaborate light up signs like that anymore. In fact, at one point in time, the signs for just about every ride in Coney Mall (Racer, Monster, Scrambler, Dodgems, Vortex all used to have lights around their entrance signs. Excellent picture, Paul. I have not seen that one before!

TheCrypt
Photo #37 - Halley's Comet Sign (back) - Originally from Coney Island Shooting Star. Did you flip that picture horizontally, or was Halley's Comet really located on the opposite side of The Racer?

Whichever it is, the picture is still quite nice to see.
TOPGUN1993
Your correct the photo should be flipped around, typically when people scan slides its common for photos to be reversed.

thatbandguy8807
now this one I know I have seen before. I used to watch that ride all the time. mom and dad would like to ride it and I would watch it for like 2 or 3 cycles and then go into the store and wait for them to come out of the exit.
The Interpreter
It's hard to fathom that the ride-ops in that picture are likely all in their mid to late forties. Suddenly, I definitely feel in my dotage.

Jasper
I am more amazed at the line of Adventure Express in the second one. This picture did give me some good ideas as to where the footers you can still see were used at in King Cobra though.
PKIVortex
I remember when the line for AE used to stretch all the way around to were the King Cobra helix was, where Delirium is today.

KIfan73
I've noticed that this thread and Kings Island's "photo of the day" have mirrored each other at times!

CoastersRZ
That would be the Flying Dutchman. The ride was relocated to Kentucky Kingdom after being removed from Kings Island.
Oldiesmann
Once again all these old KI photos are reminding me that I seriously need to dig through our old family photos and see if I can find some KI ones.
