^ As I never rode King Cobra due to both fear and lack of height, I love that picture! I've never seen KC's queue or station in much detail, so it's awesome to see that perspective on it.

Thank you for this photo most of all Paul. We are nearing closer to the ever elusive photos of KC's queue and station.

Thanks so much for The Beast photos with the water! The station was so very different with all that - right down to the ripples in the pond that happened as The Beast rolled out of the station. Too cool.

Photo #29 - The Bat - Station - Notice how the transfer track was on the front of the station thus a train never had to go backwards to be taken on or off the circuit. The station and drive box still exist today as Vortex.

Very cool photo, I'd love to see a POV of The Bat but have never been able to find one, I wonder if the park has some POV footage hidden away somewhere.

How cool would be be to be able to rummage through the areas where they have all the old stuff hidden away?

Some POV footage can be seen in this video:

great photos as always. I cant wait to get back to working there. my third year I hated it but I found my old excitement for working at the park last year and am now back to not being able to wait until the season starts. you also have helped with this with all of the old pictures.

I wish that full POV would be released. I'd love to see it start to end. It has to exist somewhere! (Or at least used to).

This was kind of a fun ride! I especially loved the giant Reptar statue out in front of the coaster. That's something I wouldn've liked to have gotten a hold of when they took it down. I would've totally put it in my back yard and turned it into some kind of fountain lol!

Check out Scoobys Ghoster Coaster in the background...

No I know that the coaster is still there. I was just referring to when it was Runaway Reptar. Liked the whole Rugrats theme and the giant Reptar statue. It made for a very fun, themed, kids coaster!

I know I realized that after I posted that and tried to Edit. Didnt quite make it in time though..lol. Apologies. :)And yes, I agree. I was never much of a Rugrats fan, But that theme was very cool..

Oh how I miss the antique cars! It was a beautiful part of the park! It is a shame that this carefully tended garden of 20 years was replaced with a junkyard looking monstrosity of a ride

Here are the 'tiques on September 5, 2004 (rode them that day too)

Kings Island was like a bad dog when they took out the cars, we all found ourselves saying, "NO, BAD. WE DON'T DO THAT"

I don't remember when and where ( I know it's was at King's Island but I'm pretty they moved this ride to Dolly Wood one year) at but I remember riding those antique cars somewhere. Also, the Antique cars and the whole track is rather aesthetically appealing. But it's a large ride and I'm sure King's island needed the room in the park.

... I'm sure King's island needed the room in the park.

No, they did not. The park has 773 acres of land and roughly uses less than half of that.

Its amazing how much the trees filled in over a period of twenty years! I still miss the peacefulness of all those trees in the center of the park. Of course the biggest travesty is that we also lost our Flying Eagles ride the season that Backlot opened.

I don't mean to be a downer, but I used to walk past the Antique Cars every shift I worked from 95 to 98 and can still remember the sound, smell and feel of that great ride! Like many here, it took me back to my childhood and reminded me of times long gone! This thread has now made me depressed...*sigh...I've seen a lot of rides come and go. Some rides saw a welcomed end (from my perspective) while others were unbearable to watch as they made way for other "attractions". This is the nature of this business and I appreciate that, but I must say the AC hit me the hardest and still hurts to see what it has become! Ok, I'm finished with the rant and am in high hopes that beauty (in some form or fashion) will one day return to that area - hopefully sooner than later!
