If you have been on one invert u have been on them all, since Kings Island didn't have a hyper it made sense, the perfect park would be full of hypers, gigas, maverick clones, a TTD like coaster, and anything else that is fast and tall, the only good thing about gimmick type coasters is that it draws the idiots away from the good coasters

So all the idiots are at Cedar Point and Magic Mountain, because the good coasters that get consistently ranked as the best of the best aren't at either of those two parks. Glad you cleared that up for me.

Cp has some high ranking rides in one location. I have to disagree with you.

Instead of taking a trip to the northeast to go to different parks to ride bizarro, ka, etc. I can go to cp to ride mf, ttd, magnum etc.

I sure hope it is not a junk invert like that drawing, that would draw no one to the park, inverts were meant for the 90's, Raptor sucks, all coasters from here on out need to be either launched/300+/90+mph with no inversions or they will just be another coaster, Intamin blows away B&M and it is not even close, nothing will top MF until Intamin builds a 350+, 100+mph coaster.

I think we found the 3rd alias to "Big Sexy" and "YoungStud".

Fella, I joined in 2007, nice try.

This is not Cuba, people can have their own opinions.

Quit saying it took 20 years for a B&M hyper. Their first hyper was in 1999, making it ten years.

If you are referencing Son of Beast as Kings Island's first hyper coaster I must point out that hypers don't have loops. If you don't believe me, Terp should have my back on this one.

But does that mean Kings Island got it's first hyper coaster in 2007 rather than 2009 or 1999?

2007 being when SoB reopened without the loop.

I was referencing Raging Bull not Son of Beast; my apologies for the confusion. Also, Son of Beast opened in 2000 not 1999.

To my knowledge, there hasn't been a manufacturer (outside of RCCA) who has tried a hypercoaster + an inversion which is where I personally believe the "hypers don't have inversions" philosophy derived.

I have conclusively narrowed down what we're getting to one of two things. We are getting either:

A) A purple B&M Invert with flame decals, lap bars and no seat belt, themed to the musical Cats

or B ) Something other than what I said in A.

Leaning toward B at this time. Although the idea presented in option A WOULD make for the most horrifying roller coaster ever built, for a wide variety of reasons.

Lol if Don was spotted in Maccas everyone would assume we were getting a Ronald themed ride, obviously red and yellow. Maybe a sweet tea splashdown but definitely chicken nugget cars and lettuce loops, caramel corkscrews, and a happy meal helix!

That's what Fast Lane is for....

And that's how they get ya! I've been probably 10 times so far this year, 9 fast passes and 1 really rainy day.

9 fast passes on 10 visits! Keep up the good work my friend, building for the future! I went to the park at 7:45 pm with a 12, make it 13 ride count (almost forgot my Master Blaster skills). I even had time to sit in Rivertown and enjoy some pizza. No Snickers here, but I am enjoying 2 Reese's peanut butter cups.

That's why I said to my knowledge. :) But seriously, good point. Can anyone offer insight as to whether or not it was considered a hyper coaster at the time?

Roller coaster at new york new york is 203'.

It may be 203 feet off the ground but it does not drop you 203 feet. More like 144.

Wild Eagle @ Dollywood would be another case I can think of, for 200'+ roller coasters with inversions. But it only drops 135 feet...and rcdb.com seems to have deleted the height information for some reason.

Do I consider a coaster a hypercoaster if it is above 200' (in either height or drop) and has inversions? Yes- sort of. I place them in a special category, the "Hyper-Looping" coasters. And then I have even more sub-categories: Traditional (Steel Phantom, Roller Coaster @ NYNY Casino), Wooden (SOB), Winged (Wild Eagle)...

And if a 300'+ coaster ever has inversions, I'll just consider it a Giga-Looping coaster. ;)

Filet-O-Fish shaped tubs, traveling in a trough, Snicker Bar-like handle bars, HUGE lift hill, only this time the cars are lifted from above - - - yes, inverted!

And of course, there's a splash-down. All of this enclosed in what looks like a giant McDonald's (hence, the "Don" in McDonald's). Riders are sprayed with "special sauce" and Red Gold ketchup which resembles blood, and everyone screams - hence the Banshee part. Them off to the bathroom to have a bm.

There - fish, water ride, Snickers, Don, inverted, tall lift hill, splash down, Red Gold, enclosed, Banshee, b&m.

Certainly a first in the industry - a prototype - - - -OH - I forgot - wood products used in the fabrication of this attraction from the Belgain Congo.

I worry about those Snicker Bar-like handle bars. Have you seen what happens to chocolate candy bars in water???

I really don't get why this is such a big deal anyways. It's just a roller coaster. A coaster is a coaster.

You couldn't be further from the truth. There is a reason The Beast remains popular all these years later, and a ride like Woodstock express has very short lines. Each is targeted to a different market, each has a unique ride experience. There is a reason Son of Beast was torn down, while other rides with similar problems were altered. There is a much different ride experience on a 400' launch coaster and a suspended arrow. A coaster is not a coaster, different elements, heights, track types, etc.. are going to appeal to different people.

Just to push the conversation along and give us something different to talk about, what should be the target market for this attraction? Why?

Well that all depends. I think it should be another high-thrill ride along the lines of Diamondback. Why? I just think the timing is right for it. Also I'm not sure if SoB being closed the same year Diamondback opened was planned.

But Kings Island is a business and they don't add multi million dollar attractions because they think the timing is right.

Or do they?

This is fun/FUN. :)

Well, whatever it is, I hope it's enough to finally stop this scenario from ever happening again:

ME (I SOUND LIKE SETH ROGEN): "I like going to Kings Island; it's my favorite park."

TYPICAL OTHER PERSON: "You haven't been to Cedar Point, have you?...

[Other person's voice suddenly begins to slow down and become echoey to me]:

"It's it's it's way way way better better better than than than Kings Kings Kings Island Island Island!"

<_< Sigh. I hope whatever they're building can help make it stop.
