thunderbeast1968
Dollywood is getting WindSeeker from??? (which ever park is tired of theirs breaking down) Just kidding guys. I vote for another wooden coaster
Existential
If they get an invert, then a giga, then some sort of launch coaster in the next decade or so...that place would have some diverse coasters. I really enjoyed my time there in April. A few more coasters and that would be one terrific, destination park.
XGatorHead 8904
2014 going be a big year. Kentucky Kingdom, Banshee, Cedar Point, and Dollywood...im going be broke next year. :-) Lol I'm getting hyped for stuff next year and I won't even be stateside I'll be over in the pacific by this time on a 20 mile island xD That's better than a Three Mile Island! Not sure if it's as good as Thousand Island though... -Gator, hoping no one has a meltdown about how I'm a dressing the topic.
geebs11
I was actually thinking of taking a trip to Dollywood in November...possibly....I see they are open during November/December at times. I might wait if this announcement turns into something of my liking....
The Interpreter
You'll miss a very special time at Dollywood if you don't go for Smoky Mountain Christmas. And, if it's like in years past, you can buy a season pass then, get in the park this year and next.
Ride On_17
Well would you look at that. Right in the middle of my first day of school. At least I'll have something to look forward to that day. Same. I know what I'll be doing during lunch... I'm so glad I can use a cell phone (limitedly) at my school. How else could I get through my day when there's an amusement park announcement going on?
AintNutinElse2Do
Found on other forums http://www.bullocksmith.com/portfolio/cat8/project5.html but this is the resort concept from a while back. Good chance this could be part of the announcement.

AintNutinElse2Do
My guess is a Mack Manta like coaster or perhaps the suspended powered coaster that they have yet to open one of. Since Dollywood likes to be unique I wouldn't be surprised if it was the latter. But the biggest part of the announcement should be the resort and look what I found. Dollywood's DreamMore Resort... That's a name trademarked recently. Not sure if the link will work but here it is. http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4805:gun4k.7.1 edit to add that going to www.dreammoreresort.com takes you to an error on Dollywoods website. While going to www.dreammore.com takes you to a blog.

coasterfanatic83
The resort looks incredible. It seems like it will be a great addition.

YoungStud
Well, i am personally let down. Do they have enough visitors to justify a large resort?
Dieseltech20
Yes. I was there in June and the park was PACKED. Not to mention they have a pretty long season. The resort will have its own Pool Complex, Restaurant, etc. Dollywood is located in a HUGE tourist area. This resort will get plenty of visitors, even if the park doesn't.
MantisMan
Yep....that area (PF/Gatlinburg) is pretty much full of tourist year-round.
Existential
I'll be honest...that is a little dissapointing to me too. I think that they already have PLENTY of family rides in that park, with a children's area that rivals Kings Island in terms of rides. Blazing Fury is already a coaster that children can ride, and from the looks of things...will be as much fun as this. Oh well, I don't have to find my way there every year I guess. thedevariouseffect
Dolly just looks...ew lol Saw that pic and just...no haha I'm a bit disappointed, however this still is good for the park, we just got WE not too long ago, give it time and I'm sure we'll get something new and exciting again
Aaron88stang
The thing that sticks out to me the most from this announcement is $300M in investments over the next 10 years. That is a lot of money for new projects.
