LoraX
Another idea for a themed area is the Catacomb.
canobie#1
Spooky Hallow sounds good to me. Maybe they could get a slender man dark ride and call the area slender woods.
ChainDog
Of all the names I've seen so far, Spooky Hollow seems best and most realistic for the area Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Stitch
I don't need the area to have facade theme work like Disney or even Alton Towers, it's a Cedar Fair park. I think Action Zone would benefit greatly if they did something to alleviate the large hub of concrete though. It's hard for me to consider it an area when all it really is, is five rides entrances in a oval. At least Rivertown has a general aesthetic the rides, shops, and eateries stick to.
ChainDog
^ I agree. We don't need a complete overhaul at all, just some simple theming elements to make that area flow well with the new rides. Plus it would be a great change for regular park goers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
shawnofthedead
Best name for Drop Tower would be Hell-a-vator....but that name shouldnt be used again.
CoasterMyths79
So do you think this name/ride change will have any affect on ridership? Will it make it any more popular, or not?
ChainDog
I'd say it certainly will not hurt it at all. I would bet that ridership will increase. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
FoF96"
I would imagine it could help. Some guest may even mistake it for an all new ride. Others will simply ride to avoid the long lines of Banshee. I'd imagine the people also would be eager to see how it changed and what it would look like.
ChainDog
^ Yeah you're right. Between people just wanting to see the changes, people thinking its new, and overflow from Banshee, it will definitely be busier come next year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
TheBEASTunchained
I'm not sure if the "Demon Bat" prop that used to be inside The Crypt's building is still at the park, but if it is, I would look awfully good in the queue area for The Bat..... SOBwasaSOB
That would be awesome!
Stitch
I don't think it would do well in outdoor elements.
calakapepe
It was still there last day of haunt so.. I don't see why it wouldn't be there still.
D-Back Fan
I'm very nostalgic so I am extremely happy! Yeah, it's not the same coaster...thank God. But it is the perfected version of it. Never did stop calling it Top Gun, but thankfully I won't have to see that "Flight Deck" signage anymore.
FoF96"
Yes, the Demon-bat was on and working during the Cavern of Terror Haunt as calakapepe said. Don't see any reason why it would not be there anymore.
ohiocolts
Mr Bat Demon should somehow be incorporated into The Bat queue, so that I wouldn't have to go thru Madame Fatales to see it again.

(Photo Courtesy of Ryan Suhr) (Sorry Ryan, it's the only one I could find) If it were in a "cave" under the loading platform protected fron the weather, it would fit in rather nicely!!!
CoasterMyths79
Maybe they should have it "interact"t with the ride so you would be flying with them.
FoF96"
^ to do that I am almost sure they would have to make a tunnel of sorts. I do not think this prop would work after being rained on.
MDMC01
I don't think this has been mentioned yet but on KI's site, the ride's name has officially has been changed from Flight Deck to The Bat: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/rides/Thrill-Rides-12-14-11-44/Flight-Deck... however, the URL remains the same (Flight Deck).
PKIVortex
Hope they take new pics to add next year after the repaint!
BeastForever
This statement even being there has always boggled me: "The ride's design is unique among most suspended roller coasters as it features only one lift hill." (Yay an overall shorter ride, how exciting!)
TombRaiderFTW
Drove by the park tonight. The lift and first turn supports look like they may have been painted a nice charcoal gray color. (Visibility was a little iffy.)
calakapepe
If that demon is used for The Bat... I will just say that, that would be one ugly looking bat. Bats are cool. They should look cool, not.. like that.. thing.. imho.
TheCrypt
I don't think it would do well in outdoor elements.IIRC The Bat was used outside during Haunt pre-Crypt era.

They should look cool, not.. like that.. thing.. imho. I agree with you. It would be nice to get some themeing but that particular prop is much more a general winged demon than a bat.
TheCrypt
I think it'd be cool to see somewhere around the ride. It'd give the ride a darker connotation, which could be helpful if the rumored Fear Zone is to come to fruition.
BB1
I would actually like to see the original Bat sign up or at least a remake of it near the attraction. The use of a few tree types could enhance the area, in example weeping norwegian spruce, or Austrian pines, which possess a more "foreboding" feel due to their cultural heritage to old world traditions.
CoasterMyths79
Or maybe they could have the station themed as a "bat cave".
