DBInternational Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Now that all the excitement of Banshee is over, our next topic of interest is the former TRTR/Crypt building and its future with the park. It currently remains a large tan box in Rivertown that is only being used to occupy a Haunt attraction for about 1/3 of the season. If this building were to be torn down, a fairly large chunk of room would be opened up for future park expansion. On the other hand, it's exterior is already very well themed for a jungle adventure type ride. So now, my question is: do you think KI should tear it down, build a new attraction inside it, or just keep it the way it is as only a Haunt attraction. Quote
Jr for Birdy Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Groundhog Day was a great movie, I'm betting on post 42 is when Don chimes in with his repeated quote on this subject. 6 Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 I for one miss the ride but for the foreseeable future it will remain has a haunt attraction. Quote
rcwizard13 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 ^ Guys he didn't say the park will tear it down. He's just saying if you were in charge, what would you do. As for myself, I've always loved the idea of putting in an indoor wild mouse coaster or a second dark ride. I can't decide which, but I definitely think it should be used to house a new attraction. 2 Quote
Jr for Birdy Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 I miss the air conditioning, I mean the ride before the Crypt. 4 Quote
Jr for Birdy Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 We know, but we also know where the topic leads into, and that's usually a quote from Don. Jr... trying to beat out post #18 fast! Just kidding Goble, I'll stop now. 1 Quote
DBInternational Posted April 28, 2014 Author Posted April 28, 2014 "As for the former Crypt building, it is not being removed. It's not in use Opening Day through Labor Day so it was taken out. It will return on the Haunt map in the fall." Posted by DonKIPR on 21 March 2014 - 04:19 PM I understand that he posted this. But this is a topic regarding people's opinion not what's already been decided. Also I failed to mention that I did not mean in the next year, but just meant the future in general (yeah I know kinda broad). I apologize for the confusion. 1 Quote

homestar92 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 I think the building should be used as a museum outlining the history of our noodly overlord. At least until Goble sees the light and realizes the true majesty and wonder of our giant noodle. 8 Quote
Outdoor Man Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Much like Son of Beast- the big tan box (does that need capitalized????) will remain a status quo symbol until something is ready to replace it. As good as they have done with Banshee- I'm expecting something "unexpected" to be placed in there. While I'm at it- what happened to the giant Topspin anyway? 8 Quote
Ride On_17 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 I would want it to be converted into a new attraction. Quote
kingsislandfan1972 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 A new haunted house similar to the Phantom Theatre would be nice. 1 Quote
Sonofbeast2.0 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I would like to see a new dark ride of sorts. Quote
DontWantToWait42mar0 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 I would want it to be converted into a new attraction. The scrap? If melted down, I suppose that's possible. Anyone with expertise care to weigh in on this? Quote
Oldiesmann Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 The park said it was scrapped. What more are you looking for? Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 2 Quote
shark6495 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I'm guessing the poster meant te building not the scrap metal of a ride Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 It's some great, vertical space for some giant signage! Quote
Gplez90 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Wonderland Mountain's Guardian...... That is all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 6 Quote
upstop Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 My best guess is that it will someday be repurposed into a fantastic, immersive queue line for new dark ride ala Dark Castle. All that would need to be created is a soundstage size building to actually house the ride itself. Although I would love to see a Mack water coaster in it's place. Quote

DJSkyFoxx Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I'd be happy to see a new attraction placed in there. I mean its a nice spacious building...something good could go in there. I guess only time will tell. All I know is that I miss TR:TR and it would be cool to see something of that caliber be placed inside there ( I have my doubts, but then again after seeing the impressive theming of Banshee there is still hope ) 3 Quote
thegajone Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I had no idea how big that building really is until observing it from The Beast queue yesterday. It certainly has potential. Quote
Aaron88stang Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Wonderland Mountain's Guardian...... That is all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That's what I was thinking. What a great place for that sort of attraction. Quote
RailRider Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 (edited) KI needs to call Vekoma and install the best ride to ever reside inside a Tan Box http://www.thrillhunter.com/Chaos.html Edited May 27, 2014 by RailRider 4 Quote
thedevariouseffect Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Or a Verbolten..first time riding it soon..I still miss BBW though 5 Quote
thedevariouseffect Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I mean until I hear more about CW Wonder Mountain Guardian, this takes the cake. I mean, two launches, few seconds of airtime, some nice laterals in the helix, neat theming/music, then kinda creepy too. Then a BBW homeage finale. The building is huge I'm sure something like this could go in there, it would be a fantastic addition to the park IMO. The drop track deal is very intriguing to me as well. 3 Quote
