Sorry, animals were on display to see. The petting zoo opens Friday , sorry if I misled. Headed to Banshee but looks like she is down right now.

I spent nearly 2 hours in the queue for White Water Canyon. -The exit queue, that is! I had a bunch of extra laundry quarters in my Kings Island fanny pack, and it was weighing down a bit, so I decide

Or Terp's a crackpot but we love him anyway. Offer not valid at Kentucky Kingdom.

I could not have picked a better day than yesterday (Wednesday the 20th) to go to the park. Personally, I loved the high 50s low 60s temperatures. Perfect for me to just wear one jacket and not have to think about becoming too hot. The gloomy skies kept crowds away. I will be going a lot more next week and I hope the crowds are similar.

Wait times were pretty minimal this morning; most waits were in the station waiting for a train or two. A fair amount of buses and students but no real lines. Got in Banshee, Drop Tower (longest wait), The Beast and Diamondback in about 65 minutes. Grabbed food from my meal plan and out in a bit more than an hour and a half.

Oh my goodness, I almost had a heart attack. I read your post really quickly and saw "The Beast and Diamondback had 65 minute waits."

I thought that the world was ending for a second...rides at Kings Island on a Thursday before Memorial Day weekend, before school is out, in 50 degree weather have hour long waits??!

This won't be necessary anymore with the updates KI rolled out for their app. They now have wait times for rides!

Not all of us have apps or will ever use them...

Plus we trust each other.

Apps don't share credible, useful hints from peeps you can meet in Ye Olde Park.

I like to use this thread to share updates about other things when I'm currently at the park, too. Like the metal detectors yesterday. Pretty sure they won't be adding that to the app! :)

Oh yikes! I would have been a bit cranky if there were 65 minute waits today only because my goal was to ride a few rides before I was going to be stuck driving for 10 hours. After getting some rides in and a stress relieving drop, I was good to go.

...quite literally.

Terp, thinking it is time for tea with the kindly matriarch again, and fixin' to do sumthin' about that. That's a haul.

If you're here for the Cirque Imagine passholder preview, we're starting to check in and line up.

Yep, I got here 50 minutes before the doors open (which is at 6:30) and there were about ten people already checked in.

I hope Trevor Bodogh the Bycrobat comes out and does some tricks to entertain us while we wait :)

Today wasn't bad, bit of busy lines for awhile, but subsided a bit later by about 7 PM. Good day, now waiting for fireworks to subside to wait for The Beast tonight

I wish the wait times on the Kings Island app would show up when I'm not at the park. They need to fix that. It would be perfect to check the wait times throughout the summer. If I see the waits are low, I'll go right to Kings Island for a few hours.

I'm considering going, but not sure if it's packed or not, I'm 30 minutes from the park today and want to go, but I figure with the holiday weekend it'll be packed

Going by the webcams, it looks like a typical Sunday to me. Somewhat lengthy lines, but not as lengthy as they would be on a Saturday.

However, Soak City looks packed.

There's nothing to fix because it was an intentional design decision.  They don't want you to see that the park has hours-long wait times on the rides and decide to stay home.

Whether or not enough people would think to check before leaving home is another question.  Then again, given the popularity of smartphones and the internet, the word could quickly spread.  This just in to the news room: you can check how busy Kings Island is before deciding to go!

Many might decide to skip a KI trip altogether, thinking it a horribly overcrowded place, rather than wait for a lighter day, thus distributing crowds.

The theory behind the park's decision is surely something similar to this, eh?

I use the webcams to determine how the lines are. If there is barely anyone in Woodstock Glider's line...it's a good sign that all lines are small.

Generally how busy are Sundays?

Sunday's this year seem to be busier than last year. The crowds remind me more of summertime than May.

If you have an Android phone, check out this and this. It's not anywhere near as difficult or complex as it sounds. :)

If you have an iPhone/iPod, on the other hand, then I'll check wait times from Xenia and laugh at your inability to do so. #AndroidMasterRace :P

You can also see the Diamondback lines from the Diamondback cam.

On the food front: Chicken Shack and Starbucks have been fly-throughs in the last ~ hour and a half. The park doesn't feel very crowded today. Festhaus is closed, and Chicken Shack is out of ketchup. Just a heads up.  B)

Festhaus is closed

Uh, what? What do you mean, "Festhaus is closed"? What happened?

The associates out in front of the facility said they're doing some kind of maintenance.  There are "No Show Today" signs up in each of the poster marquees.

That's weird that Festhaus would be closed on a holiday, even with the rain we had earlier. The no show today marquees are almost always up whenever I visit, even when there is a show.
